Jokić was fifth in total points, third in total rebounds, second in total assists, and eighth in total steals. He’s the only player in NBA history to be top-10 in all four categories in a single season. Nikola was the only player in the NBA that was top-15 in average points (twelfth), assists (fourth), and rebounds (fourth) this season. Jokić led the entire league in on/off offensive efficiency with plus-18.9 points per 100 possessions. He was first in total plus-minus at plus-682. Jokić was first in VORP (Value Over Replacement Player), PER (Player Efficiency Rating), Win Shares, Offensive Win Shares, Box Plus/Minus, Offensive Box Plus/Minus, and Defensive Box Plus/Minus. Every single Nuggets starter had a higher effective field goal percentage with Jokić on the floor compared to him off it. Jokić was the only player in the league that averaged at least 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. He's the sixth player to ever put up these numbers.
Stop hate Luka, look hes carer speaks be him, always youngest, always the best, facts speaks him. Why nobody speaks about this seasson high score ? Who got ? 73 points. And then best triple double this seasson? Remebered? This also shows the skill. About mvp Leauge dont wannna it. This guys.. perks, steph a lot of then will speak whats leauge wants, bescuse this all is bussnies and show for u.
Cut the crap with Jokic supporting cast They suck, they are like 10-30 when he doesnt play in last 3/4, years If jokic was on wizards all of a sudden yall would be hypin up poole and kuzma like they are amazing
Winner of efficiency stats such as PER/WS/VORP/BPM for 4 consecutive seasons, The Denver Nuggets have 3rd worst bench in the league; Jamal Murray missed 20 games; Still, the most win in the Western Conference(=okc) Jokic, who has the most overwhelming on-off margin in the league, Luka fans never mention this. They are only talking about PTS/AST/REB~ he is alone~~
I think its important to say, in reference to the 5th seed argument. That if dallas was in the East then they would be the 2nd seed so you can look at the seeding or just look at the fact they was 26 and 23 and finished with 50 wins
This is laughable. OKC was not a top seed last year. This year they are first in the loaded WEST conference… with the youngest team in the NBA (ahead of the defending Champions that have 2X MVP Jokic who has a better supporting cast than both the Mavs and OKC). Luka has Kyrie, Tim Hardaway Jr., Bridges and Gafford with Lively off the bench. SGA has done more with less this year and been consistent for the entirety of the year! Luka played out of his mind the last two months but has played at least 15 games and had Kyrie putting the team on his back while Luka was out. It bothers me that SGA is not winning this award.
Ever since Jokic started winning MVPs seeding hasn’t mattered to a lot of people. SGA led a team that was expected to be in the play in to a number 1 seed & 2nd best record in the entire league with a number of super stars in his conference. Why do people act like that doesn’t matter
OKC won 17 more games this year. SGAs stat is the same as last year. what was different this year? SGA played 7 more games this year. JDub had a breakout year. Chet joined and immediately contributed. Why you wanna credit it all to SGA when stats show that SGA is the same as last year and the only major difference to the team is Jaylin taking the next step in his game and chet being drafted and immediately helping the team in every way? if it wasn't for Wemby chet would be ROY lol you want to ignore SGA having a better team ?
first I looked for the best scorers of each team (while taking into account those who played enough games to qualify for the official NBA ranking, which does not include last year's MVP Joel Embiid, for example). I then calculated the percentage of points, rebounds and assists that each player brings to his team and then found the overall average. Let's take Luka Dončić as an example, he averaged 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 9.8 assists in the just-ended regular season. The team averages are 117.9 points, 42.9 rebounds and 25.7 assists. Dončić's share in points is 28.8 percent, in jumps 21.4 percent, and in assists 38.1 percent, and the average of these shares is 29.4 percent.
Funny thing noone wanted to give mvp to lebron after 2014 even though he was still mvp from 2014-2018 then 2020 and 2021 because he played with wade and then kyrie ,then with A.D 😂 but luka plays with kyrie now
@WayTooWeeZy speaking facts . No lies told. But I kno your a casual and LeBron hater that's why you bothered and don't kno really to begin with. Wasn't even watching basketball those years 😕
Jokić was the only player in the league that averaged at least 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. He's the sixth player to ever put up these numbers. Nikola was second in total at-rim assists and total two-point assists. He was first in total steals by a center. Jokić was fifth in total deflections in the NBA. He was second in the NBA in non-restricted painted area field goal percentage at 61.7 percent (minimum 100 attempts). This is typically where players take floaters and hook shots from. He finished second in total points in the painted area. Jokić was first in post-up points and assists. He also led the league in total points and total assists from the elbows. Jokić recorded the second-most double-doubles in the league with 68 and the second-most triple-doubles with 25. Nikola had 21 games of 25-point triple-doubles, which led the league. On March 11th against the Toronto Raptors, he became the first player to ever drop 35 points, 17 rebounds, 12 assists, and 6 steals in a game.
Bro luka averaging 34/9/9, what are you saying… 1st pts 4th ast 9th steals Youngest scoring champ since KD Pushed his team to 5th seed with half of the team missing total of about 92 games and he putting up career highest numbers in all categories so far in his career, cut the bs…
Forgot, he also made second most 3 pointers this year and got the mavs to 50 wins while being the most doubled player by a crazy margin and still gets it done, not to mention nikola had a better team before allstar break which is about half of the season.
Wembey defensive player of the year is kinda meh he's literally taller than everyone else and that's it AD gaurds more positions & has way more impact that doesn't show in the stat sheet
The day Jokic retires will be the best of my NBA fan life I can’t do this anymore the fact that he gon blow Luka SGA out this year with votes makes no sense we changed how we give out the MVP for that Guy and I get called RACIST by his fans bc I think Luka should get it?? Like WTF
I'm so sick of the Luka hype. He's Lithuanian James Harden. Give me a break with this crap! Everybody forgets that Harden had the Rockets as one of the best teams in the league. He fell off late in the playoffs, but Luka hasn't done any better.
