Love this song, Don’t pay the ferryman is another great song from him.

Im here. One of the songs you were waiting for at a party to get a chance to have slow dance. It's not a thing anymore and that sucks for the new generation but you decide the music you want.

This is a fantastic song . Chris is a very underrated artist, at least in the U.S. . I have all his albums and they’re all amazing . He’s also a very nice person.

What a song, what a singer!! Chris is one of those rare artists that can sound even better live!! You're right, this was a great song to show your lady how much she means to you while dancing when words don't come easy!!

Very underappreciated singer/songwriter. He should have made it big in the states. So many good songs in his catalogue.

I got to see him live during his Man On The Line Tour, and he sounds pretty much the same as he did back then.

I’ve loved this song from the moment I heard it when it first came out.

Usually as a man ages he loses some of the singing notes. This song is STILL amazing!

that s a german state tv show Ms Nebel hosted a Show which is what we would call mainly German Schlager but this also aired here and there. de Burgh was /is very popular here.

When my wife and I were planning our wedding, she told me to pick our “first dance” song. It was between this song and “All I Want Is You” by U2.

This a great song ! I had the opportunity to see Chris de Berg perform this song in 1987 when he was touring Canada .His voice was much stronger back then. But he still pretty good at age 75 and he is still touring!

While I love this song, it sometimes bugs me that de Burgh seems to be recognized only for this, when his catalogue of music is beyond EXTRORDINARY!! Growing up, everybody in my house understood his brilliance, as did my best friends, so, it still baffles me that some folks from that period don't even know who he is. For anyone remotely interested in outstanding song writing and vocals, check out any/ all of the following...Don't Pay The Ferryman, A Spaceman Came Travelling, Borderline, Spanish Train, High On Emotion, Ship to Shore, Say Goodbye To It All, Fatal Hesitation, One Word, Sailing Away, Tender Hands, Missing You, Traveller, Much More Than This...I could go on ad nauseum. Please, someone give these a listen,,,you won't regret it!!

For context... I'm a Led Zeppelin/Pink Floyd kinda guy... but when I saw this post listed... I had to come see and listen. It's an absolute classic. Chris de Burgh is a master. My favorite song by him is "Say goodbye to it all".
