She never pretends to be someone she isn't.She is weird,she is Quirky,she is beautiful and she is talented.She is just her fabulously unique self.

she didn't write the song so the origin of the song from the writer's perspective was his thoughts about his mother. When Cyndi recorded it she was very sad as one of her best friends had just passed away from AIDS; so she chose that child like innocence as her perspective for the song. Since then this song has taken on so many feelings and emotions to dedicate too; including this song being embraced by the LGBT+ community for the past couple of decades. This gifted vocalist was the 1st time I grasped what the difference is in getting that push to be a star vs. the one propelling THE star. Cyndi Lauper used to run both lyrical and vocal circles around Madonna, but the machine will be greased.

@@AdrianGarcia-qd1hs me encanta Cyndi al igual que Madonna, pero Madonna se movió más por el lado polémico, sexual, político y religioso para dar de qué hablar y así tener todas las miradas sobre ella y Cyn, se enfocó más en el lado artístico y que sólo se hablara de ella, por ello... Y los resultados son: Madonna la super estrella y Cyndi el ícono de los 80's ... Recuerda que el que enseña vende y Madonna super venderse muy bien siendo polémica... Aún así, me quedo con Cyn... Es mucho más artista que Madonna...

Life is a dream, and whether we admit it or not, there is always a child inside of us that just wants to be secure and loved. I think that's what she expresses in this, that vulnerability and honesty of the child inside. We unlearn our true selves in many ways.

You’re looking at 1980’s video. Always abstract. There once was a phrase “Did you see that new song?” Videos were written to be played on MTV. However the song speaks to self confidence. By the way this was a huge hit a billboard number one

This was the first take of this song. She recorded this as a reference track and when she went back to re-record it, she couldn’t recapture the initial feeling so they put this version out ❤️

The video is something like an artist's canvas. The artist is the one at the start and end of the video and everything in between are her abstract musings. Then again it was the 80s. That was a Carnival costume she was wearing not a chandelier but by the looks of it it seemed very New Orleans-esque.

Written by Tom Kelly Billy Steinberg .It wet to number one beating Tina Turner's Typical Male .It was leading in air and record sales ,where Typical Male was leading in Airplay ."True Colors" also became a standard in the gay community. In various interviews, Lauper elaborated that the song had resonated with her because of the recent death of her friend, Gregory Natal, from HIV/AIDS. Years later, Lauper co-founded the True Colors Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating LGBT youth homelessness.

Yo entiendo la canción así: que no importa el color de tu piel, es igual de hermosa como el arcoiris... No importa de que raza eres, vales por ser un ser humano... No importa de qué nacionalidad seas o que idioma hables, el amor es el verdadero lenguaje... Así es como yo, entiendo esta canción...

I love the obvious blend of colorless and colorful in the video. There are obvious references to no matter what race, gender, age, etc you are all beautiful inside. You just have to let it out of you.
