Cindy Lauper did it her way~sang it her way..wore it her way.. She blazed her own trail..and brought us some of the best songs ever to hit the airwaves..True Colors is what Cyndi is..always loved this jewel...music legend of the best kind..thank you Sunshine for turning onto Cyndi..keep going down the rabbit hole..you won't be disappointed..beautiful reaction..from a beautiful you❤

Been following her for decades. She truly is one of a kind and truly underrated. I've seen her in concert three times now. She is amazing live. Next up should be "I drove all night" or "I'm gonna be strong". And no one has knocked her out of my number one spot until recently. Another artist you should check out that is also truly unique and special is "Aurora" There is no one like her. She is now at the top of my list. I would love for you to react to her if you will. You could start with "Runaway" or "The Seed" music video or "Winter Bird" I think you will like her.

Lauper recorded this sing as a tribute to her close friend who died of Aids. In singing with a very soft style, she discovered the power of a whisper.

Cindy is yet another hero of mine from the 80"s, the True Colors album (and single) was on the Top 20 for so many weeks.... Cindy was always so ahead of her time... Even in the wild 80"s she was ahead of her time.. Always unique. And a wonderfull and humble person/artist. She's a mix of childlike innocence and a category 5 tornado 😍

when Cindy first came to Brazil in the 80s I went to see her show. I was 18 at the time and I went alone because my friends were busy. I went to see her singing "true colors" and "time after time".

Cyndi was one of a kind,never really got the accolades she deserved.She was something different,and true fans have always loved her for being her.Her style,look,sound and fashion,have never been replicated a true one off.As someone has already commented,treat yourself to 'Time After Time' by Cyndi i think you'll love it.From an oldie in the UK,who was around during Cyndi's prime stay beautiful and love yourself.Because no one matters more than yourself,and then those who you love.

Cindy and Blondie were two of my mom's favorite singers which blew my mind because at the time I didn't think my mom even knew who they were. My mom was a Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton fan and that Era of country. To have her enjoy the music that we enjoyed was so great.

Cyndi has a helluva set of pipes on her, always has. It was just hard to tell in her early days with her early pop hits, though they were great. This woman can sang. She’s a living legend.

I got to see her twice in Berkley and her voice oh her voice. Funny note when she sung this song there where huge different colored balloons that were let out into the audience and we all bounced them around. When one finally came close to where me and my friends were I reached to bounce it and I fell on the railing popped the balloon and ripped a hole in my jeans. I kept that red popped balloon for years. 😂

Have you listened to Cyndi Lauper’s cover of Etta James’ song At Last? A very different sound, but it showcases her beauty and powerhouse vocals. If I heard the story right, this song hit home with the LGBTQ community and is the reason why they've adopted the rainbow flag. Cindy has been very active in equality issues regarding LGBTQ.

True Colors was released in 1986, so it's possible the song helped the rainbow flag become an international symbol, but the flag was a symbol in the US well before the song. It was designed by artist Gilbert Baker & 1st flown in the 1978 San Francisco Gay Freedom Parade (& it seems like it gained popularity pretty quickly).

No, the gay flag was around before this. This song was adopted as a gay anthem because of what she was singing and using rainbow in the song. Cyndi always sings this at Pride events.

When my grandson Landon was born, I actually lived with my daughter and son-in-law so I could help He was an astonishing baby, always happy and quiet..so mellow. But when he wanted something, YOU KNEW. So I would play this song ... NO NOISE ! He probably could not see well (being a newborn) but he would stare at the TV. I love that he makes the 3rd generation to adore and appreciate Cyndi Lauper 😍

Last year I went to a march here in NYC for women's reproductive rights...I looked over to my left and Cyndi Lauper was there marching too! I didn't want to blow up her spot so I didn't say anything, just glanced and smiled and she turned and said to me-"Can you believe we are still marching for this shit!?"!!! I mean, I was so blown away. She is the realest!!!
