That is your opinion only. Back when there was no RU-vid or MTV, all we had was records and radio. Elvis was still the best. A lot of his movie music went on records. Unless you were lucky enough to see him live at his concerts. Which I wasn't. Never saw him live until You Tube. Love him live, but I'll listen to him any way I can. Some songs are better from the studio because you get the 'true' version of the song. Things that are not in it when it's live, or it's been sped up due to time limits of the show. But he didn't stray too far from studio.

Elvis was the first rock and roll singer to use a full orchestra. He chose to do this when he first started as as a headliner in Las Vegas. Watch closely - he is directing the orchestra, well, everyone during his performances. Just think - that's his voice - no auto tune - pure talent and charisma beyond belief! I saw him in concert in 1973, he sang 24 songs with no intermission. He was an amazing entertainer.

That was Elvis' touring band, a Huge Entourage of people, including one of the greatest male gospel quartets of all time, The Imperials (a few years later replaced by J.D. Sumner and the Stamps) as well as the black female group The Sweet Inspirations (Whitney Houston's mom sang with them) and a few other singers including Kathy Westmoreland. An orchestra conducted by Joe Guercio, who also worked with The Beach Boys and later Elton John. And his buddies from the old Memphis days and some new ones. These were some fantastic musicians!

I think something that gets overlooked is in Baz’s interview with Elvis’ childhood friend (sorry, can’t remember his name) stated that his mom wouldn’t let him bring his guitar outside, so he would pretend with a broom he kept in his treehouse. The friend said Elvis couldn’t mimic any musical sound with his mouth when he’d pretend to play. I can believe it. His voice IS an instrument ♥️👑♥️

@emerald1805

His old childhood friend was named Sam Bell (R.I.P.). The most outstanding thing I ever heard him say about Elvis was that they all worried about Elvis when his parents moved from Tupelo, because he was from such a small poor place, they thought that kids in the big city would take advantage of him. That is a good friend.

@@setonhillstudios Elvis was the most incredible stage performer for many reasons. But the best part may be that (1) when he flubbed a line he just sailed right along as if nothing happened (2) he would do unexpected things during a song -- change a few words or make a joke. You never knew what he was going to do -- & once he did something, he never repeated himself, never did the same thing 2ce. In 972, Greensboro, NC for the song "Burning Love," he stood on stage while holding the lyric sheet. He was not hesitant or ashamed to hold the sheet as he told the audience it was a new song & excuse him if he goofs it up. How many singers do you know who would be so natural & comfortable in a situation like that.

Elvis was an 8th degree Black Belt in Karate. A lot of his stances and movements are from his love of martial arts. He directed his band with his body movements and they watch him closely. At the end of every Elvis show in the 1970's he would close with "Can't Help Falling In Love" because he loved the fan's for making it possible for his success, so check out "Can't Help Falling In Love" 1972 and you will see why at the end of his show the announcement would be made "Elvis Has Left The Building" came from, to calm his audience down because the ladies were so excited, sometimes they would get into fight's over one of his scarf's he would toss to them, fight with security, when Elvis came to town it was BIG. 😮

Who doesn't love Elvis the pelvis? Way many songs, but all were great. He also made a few dozen movies. We didn't get to see him in concert. Although that was our intent. Pretty sure it was 1970 since we were in a new Mercury Montego. We were vacationing at the time in Reno. Timing our visit with Elvis's performance. We did see him in the lobby of King's Castle when we were checking in. But didn't pester him just a pleasant smile and Nod to which he reciprocated. Trouble was when he showed up to perform he was wearing a denim suit. The casino had a strict dress code of no denim. Someone there decided that meant the king also. So instead of changing he just didn't perform. That casino soon went out of business. Lol Funny thing is we didn't know about the dress code either. I have always worn western clothes and had nothing but denim jeans. So even if he had performed it would have been buying new one time use clothes. Not likely.lol 🚜🤠🐂

If u want to see what captivated the masses in early 1956, check out the first tv performances on Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey Show , especially Baby, Let’s Play House and Reddy Teddy. When he performed Hound Dog on the Ed Sullivan Show, he was already a master at commanding an audience. There are tapes available where it took him at least a 1/2 hour to try to sing. And when he did sing, you couldn’t hear one word .This has been officially documented. I mention these performances because I have seen Elvis in person every year from 1956-58, and from 1969-75. Am now 84 and the excitement and electricity he generated in those early years has never been duplicated! Fans that were not in the audience during those days have no comprehension of his explosiveness! I have always loved Elvis from the first time I saw him at 15. But whenever I hear or see E , even now, I immediately see him just walking onto the stage and causing riots. And there were many! ELVIS FOREVER AND BEYOND!!!

A suggestion I have is when Elvis did Hound Dog in 1977, it was his last performance before he passed away but it was still spectacular. I have always liked it because it is different to the original version that he did in the 50s. Love the content btw :D

Elvis had the Jordanaires backing him in the 50’s to 60’s. The TCB band backed him from the late 60’s on. The Sweet Inspirations (the female singers) sang back up in the late 60’s to 70”s. Elvis was always surrounded by his “Memphis Mafia.”

why did it take him 14 years to use any black artists?
@skylarkn8701
@skylarkn8701 День назад
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 don’t know but, IMO, it was the late 50’s early 60’s and Colonel Parker ruled Elvis’s career decisions. Elvis was a country boy who did what he was told. Ultimately Elvis was not happy because he felt that they had him making “silly” movies while groups like the Beatles were taking over the music industry. Elvis mounted a music comeback around ?’67-‘68, and that was around the time he started having black musicians in his band.

Frank Sinatra had Elvis on his show to celebrate his return from the Army. I suggest a reaction to that whole segment. It was called Welcome Home Elvis and he performed 2 songs and then performed a little medley with Frank Sinatra. It in the one and only time he ever performs on stage with another star.

Notice the different jumpsuit @ very end -- he was in he Concho jumpsuit (silver circles) & @ very, very end it was the Chain jumpsuit w-brown leather tabs -- MGM for some reason changed that very ending for the filming -- filmed over 6 different performances by MGM from the famous DVD entitled "That's The Way It Is." BACKGROUND INFO for the SONG: Written by Mark James in '68, it is based on one night when James was fooling around on his guitar & came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James' wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."

I could go on for paragraphs singing the praises of his band, musicians and backup singers - (started working in the music business as a engineer, producer, and musician back then) but it would be better for you to look up Elvis introducing his band members. He did that at every show. Watch the introductions from his “Aloha From Hawaii” concert. I will say that James Burton his guitarist (someone whose playing credits you should be aware of) selected the band members at Elvis’ request. Please react to “Love Me Tender” 1970 Las Vegas. Sounds tame and boring - it’s NOT. He did “that” in every concert too! I saw him live. IYKYK

Nope. Long story short……me and Corey (the other member of Seton Hill Studios) are cousins. When we were younger our grandparents lived on a street called “Seton Hill.” That is where we learned how to play our instruments, the recording process, and everything audio related. So when we opened up our studio with thought “Seton Hill Studios” would be a perfect fit! Thanks for swinging by! 😁
