First Time Hearing Home Free - Ring of Fire Reaction Video - JOHNNY CASH WOULD HAVE BEEN PROUD! 

This song is done in a country reggae beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim Foust & Avi Kaplan. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the "Sing Off Show" that Home Free won in 2013 Tim goes even lower on this song "Ring Of Fire" & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. And Adam Rupp once again was stellar in his vocal percussion.

Yes, Home Free is so versatile. They’re all such good singers. They all take the lead depending on the song. Tim was doing that amazing low note at the end. He has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low and then sing up with the tenors. Helplessly Hoping, Brothers in Arms, Country Roads, So Long Dixie. They also just did a song with Texas Hill, it has instruments, really cool. Good reaction you two!

The song that comes on in the outro is Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget it's a lot of fun and Avi makes a little cameo appearance in it as well 😊

They sang this when they won the Sing Off, but then they didn't have Adam Chance to hold down the bass while Tim was lead. Avi gives them that extra bass.

Great one guys! This is the song that pretty much ed iced it for them for winning the sing off competition. It is quite a rabbit hole. Many different types of songs and different leads.

Also: Chris Rupp, along with his brother Adam, started Home Free. Chris left the group sometime after this video and was replaced by Adam Chance, who you see in 'Man of Constant Sorrow'.

Great song , great rendition and great reaction! Awesome word painting when the band takes over the chorus on verse two and take the notes wonderfully high on “the flames went higher!” My favorite moment is when Avi puts on the black hat at the end (honoring the man in Black) while the band sings the only echo of that signature trumpet part from the original. They pay tribute to Johnny’s greatness while making the song totally theirs. The reggae beat is inspired!

Home Free comes from country roots but their versatility is astounding. You really can't go wrong with anything they create. If you'd like to see a fun one which gets back to their country roots check out their cover of Blake Shelton's "Hillbilly Bone" or their cover of John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads" (more of a folk tune), for something deep their cover of John Mayer's "In The Blood" and for a laugh their "Butts Remix".

Avi Kaplan is a classically/operatically trained basso profundo. greatest bass out there in my opinion. He left PTX in 2017 and is now a solo artist. Love Home Free AND Avi in this song. Another group you might like is VoicePlay. They are known as the "Theater Kids of Acappella" because many of their videos are like little movies. Hoist The Colors from Pirates of the Caribbean is a fun one to start. Dragonborn is awesome too. For something that is less production and more pure talent showcase, their cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters is mind boggling.

Adam Rupp is one of the best beatboxers in my opinion. And bass in the end was Tim Foust

Tim Foust has a vocal range of a little over 5 octaves which is almost unheard of ..tim is working on some solo stuff..Tim is working on a doo-wop album.. Austin Brown has some solo stuff here on youtube...i'm not sure what Adam , Chance, and Rob are working on ..i think they are spending time with their families during the off time

Do some older HOME FREE stuff and AFTER you are used to who can do what and how they normally sound, then start with the newer stuff. Helplessly Hoping, And AFTER that, then you will want to see some newer stuff. Like Aust and Rob doing Opera and some of Times Solo stiff. But, IMO, please do some older HOME FREE first. I know Johnny Cash's version is "classic" but I much prefer Home Free's "upgrade"--more emotion and much warmer harmonies. And in my opinion, although the crackling bonfire video is great, HF's version with Avi is not even their best. I still prefer the version our HF fellas sang for their third performance on the 4th season of The Sing Off. It just showcases their strengths even better than this one--in my humble opinion. ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ (Avi Kaplan has been mentored in bass excellence by Home Free's Tim Foust--this is a great testament to HF's humility to showcase him like this.)

You have not heard the high or low end of Tim Foust. He is not quite human in his range. To get a better view you should react to his take on "Will you still love me tomorrow" or Won't you stay" and "Misty Mountains"

Ring of Fire in a more modern, somewhat reggea-like version, but still respecting the original. More than 4 years ago this was the first video I saw/heard from Home Free. I got there because I was listening to Pentatonix at the time and Avi was my favorite. Immediately there was something that drew me to Home Free. From then on I followed them and after I think 2 videos I was a real Home Fry. I hardly follow PTX anymore. Avi still does, because Avi Kaplan and Home Free let me feel music and not just hear it. Their great harmonies, the unbelievably good beatboxing/vocal percussion and of course that incredible deep bass that makes the ground vibrate and your speakers explode. Personally, I thought Avi fit better with Home Free than with PTX. But that's my opinion 😊
