@@Newfie-zc7ug Thank you for your kind reply. Dimash was classically trained since the age of 5. However, when he was offered a position in the Khazastan Opera, he declined because he was interested in exploring other genres other than opera. It’s probably more accurate that Pavarotti and Dimash are 2 different “

Like comparing apples to oranges, both delicious but different species. It’s hard to ignore Dimash’s 7.7 octave range, deep passion (Adagio) and the many musical influences in his life since a child. Ti Amo Cosi at the 65th Anniversary of Igor Krutoy is magnificent. He certainly didn’t need the money, but 13 Billionaire Igor Krutoy came out of retirement primarily to compose and work with Dimash. Krutoy has said that Dimash inspires him to compose music to custom fit Dimash’s voice. But, as you mentioned, Dimash will no doubt get even better with age. Thank you for being so open minded concerning Dimash. Besides Dimash, I am discovering new musical artists like never before. I am so grateful that I have lived this long into my 70’s to experience all these new singers and still appreciate the classics. My best regards to you.

Andrea Bocelli, he is another great opera singer. He is blind and has an amazing voice. He is 63 now and he is bloody awesome too. I don’t particularly like opera but I love Pavarotti. Also there are videos out there where he sings with Bryan Adam’s ALL FOR LOVE, awesome and Tracy Chapman SORRY. YOU HAVE TO WATCH THOSE TWO ABOVE. Especially Tracey Chapman/Pavarotti one. I get chills every time I hear it. Pavarotti is so humble and his smile and appreciation of artists of different styles is what makes him so likeable apart from him himself. Unfortunately we lost him a bit too early. He sings like silk, takes you to the heavens when he sings.

Long story short, an opera is a play where the entire script is sung. Not like a musical, which is songs mixed with dialogue, but a play where the actors sing every word of the script. It's a deep, deep well of some of the greatest music ever written. In fact, many musicals have been made out of operas. "Rent" is nothing but a Broadway version of Puccini's "La Boheme," for example. If you want to see a very gifted sister singing a very sexy version of a classic aria (opera speak for vocal solo feature), check out Jessye Norman singing "Habanera" from the opera "Carmen."

While this is impressive, and Luciano is definitely the GOAT, Opera in its actual setting is even more impressive since (especially in the distant past) microphones were not a thing. Opera singers ability to project had to be able to fill an opera hall without the assistance of sound systems. A full opera is also a full story and usually included dance, a full orchestra, acting, and amazing singing.

The man in the Opera did not have 3 questions to answer. The princess had to guess his name by morning, as she has done with many men before him, and then, immediately, had them killed. (She hates men)! He is singing while he awaits the dawn. I read the opera after hearing this for the first time, and going in search of the translation. It was great! Here is the English translation of ‘Nessun dorma’: None shall sleep, None shall sleep! Even you, oh Princess, In your cold room, Watch the stars, That tremble with love And with hope. But my secret is hidden within me, My name no one shall know, No... no... On your mouth, I will tell it, When the light shines. And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine! (No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.) Vanish, o night! Set, stars! Set, stars! At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶

I appreciate that you went beyond other young reactors to look into the story behind this aria, though you only got the first half. In the opera, our mysterious hero has already answered the three questions and offered the princess an "out" to marrying him. She only has to guess his name before sunrise. She orders that no ne shall sleep (in Italian "nessun dorma") until the answer is found. He is singing that she will not learn the answer until he speaks it to her lips once the sun has risen. The chorus are singing that they will be put to death unless they find the name. At the end, he is singing that, once the dawn comes "I shall win!" (Vincerò).

Opera can be as gorgeous as it can be mental and annoying. It all depends on your personal taste. I love this genre of Opera. Especially arias (songs) from opera's by Giacomo Puccini. He wrote this Aria, from his opera Turandot. His best known are La Boheme (the story of which was turned into the musical rent and the film Moulin Rouge) and also Tosca and Madame Butterfly. Puccini wrote opera more languidly. Not so much ups and downs of the scale but more akin to what was then turned into the musical. His melodies, as you heard here can flow in and out of you, his harmonic structure is just gorgeous and the way he writes for the orchestra behind the singers is stunning. I adore the orchestra though. I think it's the purest form of music. But then again I'm bias, I write for orchestra lol

I discovered someone because the person mentioned Pavarotti, and this artist (Zucherro) was in the video, too. I've come to really enjoy his music, even though it's not in English... Check out this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f4xQ4PB3Kd0.html

pavarotti was at the end of his career. Opera is completely differnt. different technics. No microphone, You must make a teather shake. You must have control of every part of your speaking system. Everithing. 4 octaves of extension is basic. twenty years of study is minimum. It's like classic ballet. First you are on your tip toes, but that's only the beginning. it's another sport.

How can anyone in the world who went to school, not know about Pavarotti one of the greatest tenors to ever live. Even if you have no interest in Opera, what has happened to education?

He is a tenor. You have to learn to become a tenor for it is not a natural voice. Sopranos love to sing with tenors.

What a horrible way of knowing anything about opera is when a pig dude is listening to it while chopping up his victims 😂😂😂

You are obviously trying to build your audience, and good luck to you. Might I make a suggestion? Your "job" here is to react to music, and you hope that if you do it well, and make poignant comments or educate or entertain your audience, that you might make a bit of money on the side (or hopefully, make this your full-time job!). Your audience wants to hear what you thought of the music. How can you possibly expect to build an audience if you do not listen to the music. I'm talking about the hoodie. Yes, it might be your "persona" or how you want people to see you. BUT you CAN'T listen to music properly through several layers of fleecy fabric. Lose the hoodie. You will then hear the music clearly, and be able to make more informed comments. And that's your job.
