Mitch was teased in school for his high voice. Now look where he is, haters!!!! Thank you for your reaction and for appreciating Mitch. Their main concern is pleasing their fans. Anything more than that is gravy to them.
Mitch and Scott also have another project that is a lot of fun, worth checking out: "Superfruit (often stylized as SUP3RFRUIT) is an American musical and comedy duo consisting of Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying, both known as members of the a cappella group Pentatonix. Superfruit is also the name of their comedy show, featured on their eponymous RU-vid channel."
Gold, Ref, Problem, Water, Blinding Lights, When the Party's Over, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Silent Night, all of their Christmas songs......there's so many.
Hello G.O.T., Thanks for this one. All five of them are just superb. You are right, every time there is something new, something different, something excellent, in every song that they do. Kevin with all those sounds. How does he do it? Mitch singing is spot on, as always, with the notes that he hits and holds. Love that you said that his voice should be kept safe as it is a planetary treasure. How perfect. Glad that you spotted the symbolism. PTX music videos are always intentional. BTW - PTX is playing two nights in the UK in May 2023, one night already sold out so you have to hurry if you want to get a ticket. See you on the live stream!
You haven't yet reacted to "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "Havana". Also go back to see their performances on the U.S. TV competition show "The Sing Off" where PTX won in 2011. This will give you some history of where they came from.
Mitch should insure his voice for millions, like Betty Grable the famous pin up girl, insured her legs! I love your exuberance and joy at the talent that is PTX!
SO SO glad you reacted to this one. It's one of my favorites with Mitch carrying the performance. And his grin with "And I'm in love with being queen" BECAUSE HE IS! I agree with that last bit of symbolism of them being bigger than they ever dreamed. Just wonderful. THANK YOU!
I love their original "Can't sleep Love" And please look into their "Evolution of..." videos. But as you said, every single one of their songs is great. I am so excited to see them live in Berlin in about a year - but first Kirstin gets to have her baby.
"Planetary treasure"....love it! And I've seen them live many times, and often when did this song, they had to pause for an audience craze after Mitch sang "and I'm in love with being queen"
These 6 people have earned everything they've got. After being dropped by the record label after their win, they could've given up but they didn't, after Avi left they could've disbanned. That's why they love their fans and with them, what you see is what you get. I've seen/met them 3 times and they have to be some of the most humble, down to earth artists I've ever met. If you ever get a chance to see them, make sure you do the VIP experience, the extra money is worth every cent 😁
Their Popspring 2016 performance which is live is a must. The video I have seen the most is about 16 minutes it has some original music and MJ Evolution. I think you will love it.
Another fabulous song by PTX. Mitch was incredible, as always, and Avi - OMG the bass! Kevin on percussion 😁 and Kirsty and Scott adding their amazing voices, and it all comes together perfectly. I love Kirsty’s crooked smile too. I agree with everything you said about this group. Love your reactions, please keep them coming.
I enjoyed your reaction to this amazing Pentatonix video. Thank you. I love how much you love and appreciate their talent. I look forward to more of our Pentatonix reactions. They are incredible.
I have been lucky enough to see them live twice. Once was a regular concert, one was a Christmas concert. It is amazing. They sound the same live as on a recording.
If you want great symbolism , Happy Now. That song has become my anthem. With my husband's death, I always wondered about me moving on and living my life. I happened on to Happy Now by accident. Something in that song touched me so much, it took listening and watching it several times before I understood. Just what God or fate whoever made it possible to see this! I can tell you now, I am as happy as I can be without my other half of 44 years. I thank the heavens above for these wonderful people.
When I saw this, I knew you would love the ending. I agree that most a cappella groups sound like a group of people singing at the same time but Pentatonix is a unified sound. Before I retired from teaching, my students would ask what kind of music I listened to and I would reply Pentatonix. They’d say ok, but what else. I would respond Pentatonix. We would go back and forth a couple of times before they’d say “so you only listen to Pentatonix?” Pretty much. I throw in a Home Free and Voiceplay from time to time, an occasional Superfruit but pretty much PTX.
They are always spot on, even back in the low budget days, in their musical and visual interpretations. Plus, they are always ALL in during their performances.
I think every time Mitch opens his mouth to sing I’m in disbelief! It’s so amazing and unexpected. They are all amazing! Great reaction as always! #Wafflegang ❤️
I have lived through a ton of different musical artists and many of them I followed through a few years but I have never followed any of them for as long as I have followed PTX. Over ten years and never being disappointed by anything they have done. Watching you react to their music fills me with joy! Great reaction again!
glad you got to a happier one! Loved this when it was new, and it isn't getting old... Next up to make you smile - their "Evolution of Michael Jackson"
LOVE AGAIN! Their original song from back when they released Daft Punk medley. They were inspired to do their own EDM song that kills...especially in headphones. The Steampunk Aliens look was inspired by their Daft Punk medley. Mitch was a beast taking lead in one of his higher octaves. Kevin made an 808 bassdrop that made me do an assdrop like I was at an Edm concert. You must hear and see it for yourself. If it doesn't hit you hard, check for a pulse. Lol
Their harmonies are always beautiful, and PTX really knows how to utilize silence to create dynamic performances. I think my favorite part of this video is the costume change at the end that accompanied that last line - what an impact!
the end of the video always gets me, when they're dressed down and they sing "we're bigger than we've ever dreamed"; I always get hella chills. I've seen their entire Sing-Off journey and seeing where they've come and where they are now, it's amazing how much this message truly means. I love your reactions to PTX so much! ❤️
Your excitement is contagious. I takes me back to when I first saw this video. And yes, you definitely need to see them in person and if you can afford it, go for the VIP experience. It is so amazing to meet them. They are warm, genuine and humble people with amazing humor. The private song is intimate and special. You get your picture taken with them and then the energy when they start the concert is electric. Must must must do!
Love your PTX reactions - I always watch out for them. I really recommend some of their live pieces - try Gold - Mitch is insane on that one, or one of their originals - Sing, or Run to you are both excellent. Others have recommended their Evolution ones too. Definitely try those. Tbh they're all incredible!
@@suewhitty8761 I know, it’s tough since they are ALL so good…and different in style too! That’s definitely in my top also…but I have a tendency to listen to their hyped up songs on repeat. 😊💛xo
I am always looking for more reactions from you Luke you are always very funny just loved your first….Hallelujah please keep it up, I am always re watching you just for the happiness and positivity. Your comment having a man crush is not wrong was so cute with my smile added
This is a PTX song I'd not heard before...and if I'd just heard it on the radio I'd simply assume that of _course_ that's a drum set and guitarists in the background! I agree with you, G O T, that their back-to-reality costume change at the end is a perfect touch. Now go gather your wits about you; I'm fearful that your tongue's about to have a seizure. ;D
I know it is a Christmas song, but Pentaholics don’t care what time of year it is when we hear one of their Christmas songs. Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee, live is amazing. I saw them live for their Evergreen Christmas tour last Dec. They ended with that song. OMG! You have to hear and see the performance. It will blow you away. Love your reactions!
I've seen them 3 times live, 2 with Avi 1 with Matt. It is definitely something special- because of the diversity of the group everyone feels welcome. I suggest Aha! Singapore if you want to see a "live" song.
You're in the UK right? I've been a fan of PTX for years and I'm FINALLY seeing them live next year. So unbelievably excited. They're in Manchester and London in May if you're interested, but tickets sell fast 😃 And yeah, Mitch's voice needs to be placed in bubble wrap and put in a box marked 'fragile' 😍 Love your PTX reactions! 'Love Again', 'Coffee in Bed', 'Sing', 'Happy Now' and 'Be My Eyes' are all PTX originals and are bangers!
This, THIS video, with good music and your joy and enthusiasm, just gave me the first real smile all day... right after 9 pm. THANK YOU! ❤ And since you always talk about how much they are enjoying themselves, you really have to tjek out the version of Jolene they are doing WITH Dolly Parton. You're gonna love it. 😉😊
No one tell him that they were just in Manchester and London two weeks ago!!!!!!!!! Also - check their origination story by watching Pentatonix on the Sing Off. They've grown so much, but they had the raw talent.
I think what you’re trying to say is that their sound is so well distributed and spot on that you don’t feel like anything is lacking, something we are unaccustomed to without additional instrumentation beyond the human voice. We forget they are acapella while listening because they are fully filling the roles normally taken by instruments. But the truth is that there are very few instruments out there that can even begin to approach the range of texture and expression of human vocals.
YES!!! BOTH of these! “Carol of the Bells” also titled “BREATHE Mitch, BREATHE!” And, “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” the song with no words, performed by the group with no instruments that won them their second Grammy! Can’t wait for these reactions!
I have fond memories of the first time I heard them do this song. I think it was about the second time I'd heard them, and the one, previous song of theirs I'd heard before this one didn't feature any solo singing from Mitch. So when he came in with his solo vocal at the beginning I was really confused - I genuinely thought "Is he lip-syncing to the girl's voice?" And then Kirstie appeared from behind him, doing her harmony, and I realised it *couldn't* be her singing that lead vocal - it HAD to be Mitch. And I just went "DAAAAAAMMMMNNNNN, that guy's GOOOODDD!!!" Next recommendatiom? Hmmm, which to choose? For covers, if you want something different (and that shows off their rapping skills - yep, they can do that too!) you could try their cover of Macklemore's 'Can't Hold Us.' They've also done a-maz-ing covers of 'Blinding Lights,' 'When The Party's Over,' 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight.' For their original songs, there's 'Love Again,' 'Coffee In Bed,' 'Love Me When I Don't,' 'Happy Now...'
I’ve been blessed to see them live. They are unimaginably talented, yet so incredibly grounded. I truly believe they all still know where they came from and genuinely love performing for their fans. They clearly love and appreciate us as much as we do them. I guarantee you will walk away feeling the same. Go see them. Do it! 😊🎤
