Double Ditto Brothers. Today is my 71st birthday If you are like me, this music takes me back to my early teen age years. This was the kind of music that shaped a generation. One of my early favorites was "Rhythm of the Rain by the Cascades" Thanks Jay and Amber for reacting to all kinds of music. To be perfectly honest, there is some music that I have to skip over because it just isn't me. But I have followed you from Jays doing reactions by himself to the first song the two of you reacted to as a couple, and I know that eventually you will get around to some earlier music. Big Kudos to both of you and your kids.

Thankfully, we have RU-vid where we can look up all the music we missed. One thing that RU-vid cannot reproduce is the culture shock that usually accompanied such musical releases. I was in elementary school when Michael Jackson's Thriller was released. I was only vaguely familiar with popular music having been raised on John Denver, Elton John, Beach Boys, Neil Diamond, Barry Manillow, etc. When Thriller came out it was everywhere. My school PE class performed a dance to "Beat It"; my sister bought the record album; we recorded The Making Of Thriller TV special off of TV and watched it frequently (it might have been the thing that introduced me to "Weird" Al.) I became pretty familiar with several songs from Thriller... and that was without ever listening to the radio! I can't imagine the culture shock when the Beatles arrived.

@@justlinsu I see your point. However, the Olympics is all about forging unity between nations and think the words reflect that. Growing up in the 60s The Seekers were my favourite group. Judith's voice was and remains the best I've ever heard and their harmonies were just beautiful. They split up way too early because Judith wanted to pursue a solo career. Despite the stress of the break-up, (the boys did not want to split) they remained friends throughout their lives. Judith died a couple of years ago and was given a state funeral. It would be great if you could watch their rendition of "I Am Australian" which many people would like to become our national anthem. It was written by Keith Woodley, one of the band members. Beautiful people who made beautiful music.

"Now your lips can erase the heartache I've known. Come with me to a world of our own." are some of the most romantic lyrics I've ever heard. The story of a lover's homecoming has made this one of my favorite songs of all time. I'm happy to see that the two of you have enjoyed it as much as I do. ❤

The Seekers lasted longer than some. Please check out The Weavers (Kisses Sweeter Than Wine and Goodnight Irene), The Kingston Trio (M.T.A.and A Worried Man) and Peter Paul and Mary (500 Miles and If I Had A Hammer). You should react to Judith's: "I Am Australian", which is an awesome dedication to that awesome country. RIP Judith. x

The electric acoustic 12 string can bring a world of difference to a piece of music and Keith is a master.

Thanks for this. I appreciate the Seekers (and all the other clear, simple 1960s sounds you review) perhaps even more now than I did when these songs were released and I was about 13 years old.

I love her voice so much and the harmonies are impeccable and they're playing these lines with lots of motion at the same time and the balance of the vocals is just really good.

I enjoy watching you guys take this journey song after song. I am a child of the 60's, a teenager of the 70's and a young man of the 80's. The videos you do are the soundtrack of my life. Everyone takes me instantly back to a time and place, the memories of people, places, and events flood in every time. These were different times, crazy times the world was changing so fast, it was a time before video games and the internet the music was on the radio and on TV shows your telephone was on the wall. We had amazing music and high handlebars and banana seats on our bikes and we graduated into muscle cars. You hung out with friends and had adventures, you skinned you knees, you broke bones. We survived. Thank you for taking this journey and

A great song getting the biggest reaction on this channel of all the Seekers songs that Rob Squad has reacted to. Their first international recording and release quickly going to number one for the Seekers. Rare for a first release in the UK and up against the Beatles and Rolling Stones.

Some groups just put a smile on your face whenever you hear one of their songs. The Seekers are one of those groups. My mother's favourite group when I was a kid growing up in the lat 60s. And they still sound so fresh even today, more than 50 years later.

'All About That Base" hits both female Friday and your fondness of the stand-up base. By Postmodern Jukebox. They have a couple videos of that song but 'European Tour Version' is the best 😊👍😃

Yes their music is sweet and innocent and being that they were a 60s folk group they had protest songs like "we shall not be moved".
