This song was The System's only r&b crossover hit. It went all the way to hit #1 on the Billboard Black Single chart and it peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart during the summer of 1987. This song is a banger indeed!!!
@@DanielleGillmoreJohnson people remember Don't Disturb This Groove. To this day, that song is played on Spotify. You Are in My System was not as popular.
Same! Well, I might’ve been 13 but, same difference! Love this song! Takes me back to Middle School Dances….. Sigh…… If only I could go back, knowing what I know now…… I’d appreciate those years so much more…… And NOT rush them so fast……
I love this song, memories, lol. You guys should listen to Jermaine Stewart " We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off" Its a fun song, I think you'll like it. Take care
I was like, 5 when this came out. I remember sitting in the backseat of my Dad's car hearing this on the radio. He'd tap and pop the steering wheel with his hands recreating the beat lol. Fond memories man 🔥🔥🔥
I love The System. This is a lesson on the kind of song, lines a woman wants to hear. There are no love songs anymore in whatever young R&B artists are doing now.
I was just finishing my sophomore year when this song came out .... the first girl I ever kissed told me that this was her 'favorite song of all time' .... I'll never forget that .... she didn't break my tape recorder, she broke my heart! ;)
Make sure you pull up The System's video on RU-vid "Midnight Special". Shot in Paris. to this day, coolest video I ever saw ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ev49i-nbbQk.html
This used to be my sssshhhhh. This song is always played at my family cookouts 😂😂😂😂😂 I love when current generations study generations from the past because we learn how previous generations created beautiful music. This current generation of music has good music, it's just not mainstream like it used to be in the past 😑😑😑😑😑😑
i heard this song for the 1st time at a restaurant around middle school (2006 or 2007) and fell in love with it! didn’t know this song came out in the 80s until my mom told me. this will always be the top of my r&b playlist.

I actually have old r Kelly cds but I won’t listen to him anymore . He inflicted too much damage on too many young innocent women of color and even though I am not a black woman and have never been victimized I believe those women and stand with those women. R Kelly will never profit from me again. Men always back each other up but unfortunately the same cannot be said about women.

Y'all getting those Quiet Storm songs recently. Every night on an R&B station for over a decade, there was a national radio show with these bangers from groups like this, Jodeci, Luther, After 7, Force MDs, Karyn White, and so many more!
Love this song! This song came out in the late 80s and the music from the best era still rocks. We can still bump this song in 2022 and I'm sure beyond. Back when people could really sing. No overpowering background music and electronic vocals! Feel good music! 😁

Early 1980’s. I have this song on my iPhone playlist. I love the system. This duo should never have stopped making music they were so talented. Keep exploring that fabulous 70”s and 80’s music but don’t forget the 60’s.
One of my all-time favorite 80’s songs! Super surprised and happy that y’all found this and reviewed it… even more stoked that y’all both liked it!! Keep the good ol’ classics coming guys!
Yayyyyy! Been waiting on this one! Love this song! With Dr. King's birthday recently passed, you all should do the King Dream Chorus and Holiday Crew with the song King Holiday! Classic!
Outstanding! Love everything about that one, the music, the lyrics, and of course that awesome desert video, which is my happy place, as you are well aware of! 😎 That will go on my playlist for sure!
they were not one hit wonders..they had many lp's that were slamming..the record companies didn't promote and radio slept on most of their stuff..their second album was a classic that didn't get any love..they also produced many artist as well..the industry respected these guys
Nothin but respect for you guys checking this out! I JUST got this on vinyl recently too. Miss this old school feel of New Wave mashed with Soul. You guys gotta check out Scritti Politti Cupid & Psyche 85 next!
This song stills put you in a mood. I'm am so happy my virtual nephews have come across this gem. This was on everyone's playlist back in the 80's and 90's.
This is my FAVORITE song of all time. I remember my dad turning up the radio, and we would sing all the words together, adlibs included lol. I'm glad y'all enjoyed it. ❤️
Yes! An all-time fave of mine.. just one of many reasons why 1987 was a favorite and memorable schoolyear for me. Great vocals, and production. Thanks for reacting to this. I see you've recently checked out Force MDs. Hope you also give their "Love Is A House" a listen.
I had just moved to Germany when this came out ('83-84ish) and they had a few bangers. Check out their "You Are In My System" because it's 🔥! Early technofunk (with Kraftwerk being a pioneer too) at its best!
Wow! No lie, I was listening to this song earlier today on one of my playlists while working, and I said to myself, "I wonder if the twins will react to this song soon?" LOL, and then I saw this video of you guy's reaction to Don't Disturb This Groove come up in my RU-vid video suggestions. Sooo glad you guys finally got around to this amazing song!!!! This was my JAM back in the day! :)
