Just got my try on pair of boots in the mail and the fit was spot on and were so comfortable I called and paid for them over the phone so that I could keep them while waiting for them to build the boots I ordered as we'll. These boots are the best quality boots I have ever had and I will continue to be a customer and also recommend them to my friends!
Love my JK Fire Inlanders! Best boots I’ve ever owned, amazing comfort in the toughest boot available. Thanks JK Boots for such an AWESOME product, super proud to wear your boots!!
And when I see these boots behind you and your videos they look absolutely perfect when my boots came that I received from JK they did not look like them one's behind on the right side of my boot by the toe box it was like indentation a little bit but the left boot was perfectly fine
Finally after 8 long weeks of waiting, I got my boots. I put them on and they are super loose in the toe area. Definitely not the size I tried on in the store. I read their instructions and figured I’d give them a shot anyways since they claim that a thumb width is typical for toe room. After a day in the field I’m not satisfied with their sizing. Looking back, I should not have worn them outside and should’ve returned them. I’ve worn work boots (Redwing 877’s) for the past 20 years so I know how a pair of boots should feel on my feet. Craftsmanship is awesome and I can tell that these will last a long time. Make sure you are comfortable with the fit before you purchase and or wear them outside.
I'm getting ready to have some built, curious what does your company do differently than Whites or Nicks to have a shorter break in? I've had several pairs of Whites and Nicks both killer to break in. I'm going to be giving your company the next build. I was just curious on the difference to have a easier break in. Thanks
I have 5 pairs of Wesco's and 2 pairs of Nicks. JK will be next. My advice: don't go with custom fit. Buy one of their regular sizes, unless you have something very unique about your feet. I spent $800 on a custom-fit pair of Wesco's and they are the worst fitting of all my boots. And you can't return them. Buy off the rack.
I think thats a good advice. People feel very weird about buying shoes and i have many and what i have encountered is that it doesn't matter how good the boots are. Some different style it can make blisters. Nothing that micropore type or Medical type can't fix for 2 or 3 days while certain areas of your feet or skin adjust! I have several styles of the most comercial brand of boots and to me all of them are great. But my next pair is Definitely JK! Im excited, just haven't decided which color or combination to go to.
Problem solved! Shannon and the craftsman at JK sent me a properly fitting QUALITY boot. I am very pleased. Thanks Nathaniel. Thanks Shannon. Thanks JK Boots.
I know I am several weeks away. But I am so ready to get my feet into the boots. I would rather wait for the quality. Than putting my feet into something that less than a year. They will be ready for the trash. I can't wait for a true handmade best boots you can wear. Thanks JK!
I would like to see a video with all the leather colors offered and how oil/grease applications can affect those leather colors, i.e.how much it will darken them, both on rough out side and smooth side of each leather type and color.
Heard a lot of good things about JK. Sounds like White's and Nick's are going out the window and JK and Drew's is rising. Since I live in Spokane I'll be getting a pair of JK for this fire season!
Hey Tim, any way you guys could put together a boot cleaning tutorial? Especially for heavy soiled conditions such as mud, dirt, metal chips, etc. Total newb to jk (pnw) boots and don't want to overdo or under do the cleaning as far as water and soap. Also what type of bristles do you recommend soft, medium, or stiff? Want to get it right the first time.
Hey man, thanks for the suggestion. For now, I would just recommend using a stiff bristle brush with maybe a little bit of water to get the mud off. Use soap very sparingly if at all. If you feel like you really need something more to take the edge off, a saddle soap is a great option as it is made for leather.
I commented on one of the other videos of yours I'm a tree cutter I've been cutting trees for 19 years I started when I was 18 I'm 39 now I work Carolina and red rings all my life I seen your boots from a video on RU-vid and I thought they looked amazing people said they were amazing I paid $700 for my boots which is a lot of money for me but I was very excited to get them I could not wait and then I wanted to get a second pair so when I sent these back to get redone I can have a backup pair of your boot like I said I received them 3 weeks ago they were so loose they hurt me to work in I sent them back to you guys you guys put some kind of soul in to make it a little bit tighter they are a little bit tighter but they're still loose I put my gas on today and they hurt horrible I had to tie in so quick because the pain from my ankle up was horrible like something was digging in I brought them home I oil them on the inside a lot I hope it does the trick I did speak to somebody on the phone today and a couple other times I don't know what else to do like I don't want to be a problem to you guys I just want the boot to feel good like I'm at somebody who whines and complains but this is like terrible $700 boot that I'm having a horrible time with when I could have went and paid $220 got a Carolina boot and had no problems I don't know if this boot was made wrong or what the problem is but you guys seem like great people I just want the poop to feel good it's been almost 2 weeks now so now I have to take my old Carolinas to work with me just in case I have to climb I have to put them on I will try these again and again and again hopefully they will break in I don't know what else to do God bless thank you
This is a BS comment folks. This guy is complaining about his feet hurting & he's comparing these to Red Wings w/no arch support that are 1/2 price of these. BS...All da way...!!!!
@@hugorivera385 It's not BS. I'm telling you how I feel okay? In the front of the boot that they made me, you can see plain as day. There is an inventation that pushes down on my pinkie toe. Also, when the boots got to me, they didn't look great at all. I'm just being honest, I'm speaking my experience. Other people might have good experience, so don't tell me what I'm saying is b******* Cause you don't know s*** about my experience. So I want you to shut your f****** mouth. I'm so sick of people like you who think you f****** know everything when you're enough and about my experience. If I had a good experience, I would say it. I'm telling you what I went through. So just shut the f*** up and listen.
@@hugorivera385 After wearing these boots for 8 months. I'm not rich by any means. I work hard every day in my life. For everything I have now. I bought a pair of Chippewa, they are amazing, no break in time. They're comfy this is just My experience I'm speaking on understand that. Like I said, in my other comment. Some people might have a wonderful experience. I'm speaking online, so don't tell me what I'm saying. Is b******* cuz you don't know what I went through simple is that?
I got my boots today, I’m definitely not having the same experience as everyone else. Hopefully they break in or something. I always wore redwing 2412 "the Cadillac of redwings” I did the fit sheet but something isn’t right
I’m in Australia and l want to up my game in work boots . I’ve never worn boots higher than 8” and don’t think I’d like any higher . Having said that which boot would you recommend for a plumber ? Cheers
Hey man sorry to miss your question. I would go for the forefront boot because of the soft wedge sole and flexible construction, and it won't track dirt inside.
Did you guys all use their foot measuring technique with the ruler? My foot measured 10.75, resulting in an 8.5 on their guide. That seems way too small. I generally wear an 11 tennis shoe and 11 boots.
Well did you read anything on their website....their sizing is different. I wear a 10.5 usually, and I ordered an 8.5 wide. Just follow the instructions and you’ll be happy. If you order an 11 in their size the boot will be wayyy to big for your size 11
The break in is a lot better than even the last two pairs of thorogoods I’ve been through. I’m about 16 hours in to my pair I recieved two days ago, the first 6-8 hours was pretty bad. But I’m had them on all day today, and they are already way better than my thorogoods were even after a week of 12 hours shifts. And keep in mind, the boot I received was a 3e when I was expecting a 5e, so it’s not even the 100% correct size(Tim made every good with the slight mistake) and I didn’t think it was necessary to exchange them. I bet after another week they’ll be good to go
Do you guys build heritage/ casual boots? I have many pairs of work boots from Nick's and Wesco. I'd most definitely want to get a pair of your boots , preferably casual 6" boots in a waxed flesh leather ,if you do build those. I really can't wear my work boots to a bar you know.
Don't understand what hes saying about your toe shouldn't be touching the boot, because their sizing says to take your normal size on the sizing chart and subtract one size ? My toes sometimes hit my boot fronts and they want me to subtract a size 🤔
Hey Kevin, we understand the confusion about our sizing, this video is a bit outdated and we have perfected our sizing sense. Please check out our sizing page on our website ( at jkboots.com/pages/simple-sizing ) and if you have further questions feel free to email at general@jkboots.com or call at 509-487-0154. Hopefully this helps out!
I thought I was paying for handmade in the USA quality. Didn't even mind till they fell apart inside of 5 months. My entire working career 30 years I have been wearing the same style and manufacturer . Chippewa Super Loggers. I left them because my last two pairs fell apart after just a year , though I do work them hard , I though a year was bad so made the switch, yea theyre a lil more but quality doesn;t cost it pays . . . . or so I thought. Oh well, I shouldn;t say I am leaving because I'll give them another shot just due to trying to stay loyal to American craftsmen/women
@@Francis-zv2nw Break in process is terrible, from the leather insole to the uppers, even the false tongue. Now the insole is molded to the shape of my foot. Nothing digs in anywhere and you can lace tight. These are superior to every padded boot, and even though they are taller than all of my boots they are cooler temperature wise, probably because no padding, no materials inside. Once the arch support breaks in and collapses they are exactly to the lenght of your foot, there is no longer too much space in the toe box.
@@mad0uche thanks for the reply. Glad to hear that it's molding to your foot! I've had mine for 2 1/2 months now and currently in season. I've gone through the same break in experience as well, also considering this is my first logger boot. Love wearing them, but my plantar and heel hurts bad at times. Performed great on steep terrain because of the build and durability. Optimistic that it'll fall into place to be very comfortable.
@@Francis-zv2nw Yeah I received them March 4th, and it wasn't until June where I didn't mind putting them on everyday. Now that it is 80-90 degrees everyday I tried to go back to my 6 inch red wings, and it's really difficult to go back to a traditional insole padded boot. It feels just as hot in 6 inch red wings as the 12 inch foreman boots, but the synthetic insole just feels worse than the oak tanned leather insole. I recommend you spend a good $100+ on darn tough medium cushion socks. I like the ones with the bears on them. These socks have just as much technology as the boots and they will make the boots much more comfortable, if your boot is tight you might have to buy thinner socks but they will provide less cushion. I think your heel and plantar are in pain because the arch support in your boot didn't collapse yet, eventually there will be a hole for your heel, an incline for your arch, and then holes for your toes. Lace your boots consistently by kicking the heel to the back of the boot to make sure you are breaking it in consistently, the goal is for your heel to push the leather more and more flat until it goes into the arch creating a mold.
