Like most people, Jericho and Christin are naturally private people, so opening up and sharing their lives through “Saving Veda” and social media is definitely way outside their comfort zone. But like every parent, they would do anything for their children.
To create “Saving Veda,” Jericho and Christin put their complete trust in the folks at Cure Sanfilippo Foundation, who spent three days filming and interviewing them. When they left on the final day, Jericho and Christin wondered what the final video would be like. They worried, “Did we do a good enough job conveying the urgent need?” and “Will people care about Veda?” After weeks of progress updates, waiting, and curiosity, “Saving Veda” was finally ready.
Jericho and Christin watched “Saving Veda” privately for the first time just days before it went live to the world. It was one of the most raw and vulnerable moments of their lives.

What is Sanfilippo Syndrome?
Sanfilippo Syndrome is often referred to as being like Alzheimer’s, but in children. Sanfilippo Syndrome is a terminal, degenerative disease that causes children to lose all the skills they’ve gained, suffer seizures and movement disorders, experience pain and suffering, dementia, and then die usually in their teen years.
Currently there is no FDA-approved treatment or cure for Sanfilippo Syndrome.
Children are born with Sanfilippo Syndrome, but it is usually not diagnosed until they start exhibiting developmental delays or regression in their early years. Early symptoms of Sanfilippo Syndrome are often: speech delays, frequent ear infections, poor sleep, “Autistic” behaviors, and hyperactivity.
Many children with Sanfilippo Syndrome are first diagnosed with Autism before finding that the underlying reason for the Autistic symptoms is Sanfilippo.
