Can you react to "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron"? It's a story about a beautiful, strong horse with a spirit that can never be broken. I cry every time i watch it. 😭💖🔥
I'm pretty sure Oliver first decided to lie about his family/financial situation in order to make himself seem more "interesting" and "exotic" to Felix - in order to keep his attention and gain more sympathy. And then he lied about his father dying the morning after Felix got annoyed and went out to the pub without Oliver - again, as a way of regaining sympathy and attention. Every lie from Oliver is strategic (if somewhat reckless). Great reaction! :)
@@stileszzm Oh for sure. He seemed vaguely embarrassed and self-conscious about his family's huge wealth, and probably enjoyed feeling like he was using all that privilege to help someone who was "less fortunate."
the plot of this film appealed to me the more i thought about it. people forget something, Oliver is a liar. he’s the narrator throughout, trying to imply that his intentions were all premeditated and driven by economic resentment, but his goal was Felix. he was driven by his obsession and infatuation with him, lying and setting things up just to avoid his rejection. desperate for that connection with him, and willing to do anything to get it. even searching for that bond in the rest of the family. Felix’s fate was sealed the second he started seeing Oliver for who he really was, he rejected the connection. when Oliver realizes this, and knows there’s no way to come back from it, that’s when he kills him. and i think he immediately regretted it. Saltburn had to become the new goal, the new obsession, something to blur his infatuation over Felix with. though, this is just my take. I love fairly open-ended films that get you thinking like this.
I think Oliver was attracted to Felix but I think he moreso wanted to be him. That effortless power he had. So he had to find a way to weasel himself into the family. Into that lifestyle.
Wow, I can't believe I've never watched SALTBURN before! The scenery is absolutely stunning. The waves crashing against the shore and the beautiful cliffs in the background create such a captivating view. It's so refreshing to see a place that is still relatively untouched by modern developments. I can only imagine how peaceful and serene it must be to visit this place in person. The video quality is also excellent, making me feel like I'm really there. I'm definitely adding SALTBURN to my list of must-visit places.
My god... your use of the " yep, thats me" made me laugh outloud after a heavy, heavy day. Thaank you. I wish you a 2024 full of unexpected merriment, love from Chile.
Miles looked at Gwen for like 2 days and managed to draw her perfectly in his artbook for a year. Gwen hits the drums to stop thinking about Miles and even sees his reflections everywhere she goes. Sorry, MID, but when it comes to being down bad, these two make you look like an amateur.
I loved Saltburn! Really beautiful shots, really liked the story, the plot twist, the acting. It was crazy to me how small details in Oliver's body language changed when he was in and out "of character". Tbh, when i watched it i ended up a little disappointed. It wasn't nearly as disturbing as i was expecting.
I felt the same way. I was not expecting the outcome at all heck I went and watched this movie with no spoilers at all and to say I was shocked and disgusted was an understatement.
The first thing I thought of was an old trend that went around. You were supposed to put salt on the back of your hand. Then you put an ice cube on top of the salt and it literally burns you. That was one of the only trends I actually tried and it does in fact burn you, you can still see the markings from it on the back of my right hand. I tried it because I thought people were lying about it burning, but they weren't lol Luckily I got it off quick enough so it wasn't worse of a mark 😂
TikTok made me watch this god forsaken movie, this is the first time I actually went into a media blind, euphoria was the last thing I went into absolutely blind, I didn’t know zendaya was in until the first episode, all I heard was Algee smith was in it
@@MoviesinDepth A fun fact Emerald, the director mentioned in an interview, Felix is not actually a good person, a RU-vidr named Nicole Rafiee, did a breakdown of the movie that I highly recommended watching, and mentioned a lot of good notes especially of the weird scenes like the bathtub and blood scenes, emerald said they’re only closeups. She basically left those scenes up to the audience’s imagination and there are people who probably do grosser things
0:38 Yeah Carey Mulligan was in Emerald Fennell’s directorial debut Promising Young Woman (Equally as wild) so they have an established working relationship!!
I did a rewatch of saltburn and I can’t help but wonder if Elspeth didn’t want to die. “Coast is clear now isn’t it” is just a bit on the nose. I wonder if she felt guilt letting a kid in who slaughtered their family and decided that’s what she deserved too. Idk
this movie is addicting cause like idk if i loved or hated it but i cant stop watching after finishing it i wanted to immediately waych it again just to see what i missed and it hsd me hooked the entire time love watching reactions to this movie
I think the movie should have ended at the grave , I was really enjoying the movie until the sister died, even there discussion in the bath tub was amazing, but then just her dying started to ruin it for me, it didn't really feel necessary at all and the same with the ending with the Mum, that felt even more unnecessary. I would have preferred it to end at the grave or like a different ending where say he just moves into the house and stays with the family, maybe having a greater relationship with Venetia. The ending we got with him being a mastermind killer ruined it for me as the movie up until then seemed like a funny story of a great friendship, but instead it was potentially a killer mastermind plan to take over the families wealth. Or potentially this mastermind plan started when Felix 'disowned' Ollie for lying to him about his parents and what not, and Felix was kicking Ollie out the next day after the party, that's when Ollie decided to get some sort of 'revenge' of Felix, but regardless of when he came up with the plan to kill them and take their wealth, the ending just makes the whole of the movie until that point less enjoyable for me because everything I thought was funny and just what I though was happening in general, was actually not that. If I was to rewatch the movie again it wouldn't be the same or enjoyable as the first time I watched it as I would feel different knowing what Ollie does, knowing that was all an act. This ending really ruined it for me
While I don't think this is a good movie by any stretch, basically just talented mr ripley except instead of being a character study on obsession and paranoia it's just a bunch of scenes specifically designed to get people to talk about how crazy it is. But all that being said I'm so excited to see your reaction to it specifically.
BTW if you haven't seen talented mr ripley it would make a fantastic reaction. By far Matt Damon's best movie imo, and I'm from Boston, we are legally required to love the Depahted on penalty of exile. I literally went to a departed themed bar mitzvah (mine was Broadway themed because my closet was glass)
@@MoviesinDepthdefinitely depicted obsession just not in a way I personally found consistent or human but I am also not the arbiter of film and I am very glad if other people can appreciate something I didn't. I just personally wish if they were gonna go the shock value route they really leaned into the camp aspect and didn't try to make it seem smart and deep. My favorite movie of all time is Heathers, I have no problem with over the top extreme shit just wish it had gone with a tone more like cruel intentions instead of Talented Mr Ripley
i've had someone who was tangentially in my life who lied about their life in the same caliber as oliver (obvi not the rest of the stuff oliver did) and it was insane
Went to see it in theaters last night with my sister and my 2 cousins (me and my sister had already seen it) but watching my cousins reactions was hilarious
I’m shocked at how quick I was able to guess the plot. At the tire “I love you” I said and that is how stalkers are born. Then at the tavern I turned to my friend and said “if one or both of them are not in imminent danger or dead by the end of this I’m going to be mad”. And that’s after vehemently avoiding any and all information about it. And maybe that’s why I don’t like the last scene. The villain monologue and reveals I didn’t like. Otherwise a top notch movie
I was wondering since I've seen alot of reactions to this if you'd want to react to casper?, honestly its one of my favorite movies and it's been like that since my childhood, i enjoy the movie so much i could love this movie forever!
Amazing movie! I was eating the whole way and don't understand why people find it disgusting in some scene Like, I thought he was going to do something more interesting in a grave 🤔
