Heath truly became the Joker, his portrayal is hauntingly awesome, so dark n yet, silly, goofy and even if he said he "didn't have plans" n all that he was incredibly calculating, truly an incredible villain. Heath was my favorite Joker even if Joaquin's Joker was amazing as well but we've only watched him in the how he became that persona. Awesome reaction ladies, as usual
noooo you guys didn't watch Batman Begins first :////// The Dark Knight is the second movie in the trilogy and you're missing a bit of context. Still, the Dark Knight is so good of a story and Batman the character is so iconic that it can be watched and enjoyed on its own. Still, at some point check out Batman Begins first if you ever decide to watch the Dark Knight Rises (the last movie in this trilogy) -- everything will connect better.
This movie can stand on it's own if you have a basic understanding of Batman's origin... but yeah they're missing ALOT if they don't see Batman Begins. Scarecrow..Bruce and Rachel's relationship.. Lucious Fox.. And if they want to watch Dark Knight Rises they HAVE to see Batman Begins first or they miss a HUGE part of the plot! Personally I think Batman Begins is the superior movie.
You could tell they didn't watch BB first because they didn't react to a surprise, that the role of Rachel had been 're-cast'', from Katie Holmes to Maggie Gyllenhaal. Most other reactors say something like "wait, who is that? What happened to Rachel?"
I just wanted that you're both amazing people ! I followed a lot of your video reactions from now and I'm amazed by how human, kind and optimistic you are (something pretty rare on youtube and especially with reactors imo). But I agree, you should have started with batman begins because it is a trilogy with : -batman begins -the dark knight -and the dark knight rises (the last one) Also if you have never watched these movies, I suggest them for you : -what dreams may come (1998) -the matrix (1999) -the star wars franchise Take care ;)
1:05:16 "And, if you look at it, the other guy on the ferry that was in the suit that was _about_ to do it, he _decided_ to do it. He _wanted_ to. In the end, he didn't, but the _prisoners-_ it wasn't his intention at _all."_ Taking an average, everyday, ordinary human being and training him to be capable of lethal force is a _deceptively_ complex process. You need a lot more than the physical ability to lift a remote and flip a switch. Most of the time, believe it or not, human beings have an instinctive empathy for fellow human _beings._
The joker doesn't have an origin story in the original comic books. That's why he has no prints, teeth, identification. He's been given multiple origins since, but he's a character that doesn't need one. It makes him more interesting
Nice reaction!!! just wanted to further your knowledge about this movie and heath ledgers performance. They gave him a lot of room to ad lib and improvise all the way down to the makeup. he breathed so much life into the joker it’s scary. the licking of the lips. the mouth tongue pop he does when he you strike his nerve. the face paint on his fingers. all his doing . you can also see him improv some major scenes. the reaction from the cast in the room at the high rise fundraiser. was an authentic shock!! reaction no one on set had seen him till that moment. the video made by joker of the fake Batman he hung. was a complete production made by heath himself. the location of a meat locker and the camera work. he also improvised the scene at the hospital when the delayed explosion happened and he smacked the detonator a few times. if you paid attention in the hospital the conversation with Harvey dent with a gun to his head. you can see that the jokers crazy but not stupid or suicidal. he is holding the hammer of the gun back. so when and if Dent pulled the trigger it wouldn’t fire. Best joker of all time !!!!
I, personally, don't care if you did or will watch 1st & 3rd, films. You don't need to watch the 1st & this is the best out of the 3. Anyone talking about a Nolan Batman, they're talking about this film. This was the best Batman & the best Joker.
@@kevinlowe4953 Yes! But Batman Begins is important for the following movies to give all the knowbouts for principle, ideology, philosophy of Batman. I mean for me, Once you start, You've to complete the whole triology
44:15 in: The part where the Joker is waiting for the explosion was not in the script. The effect wasn’t going as planned, and Heath Ledger improvised his fiddling with the control.
Great reaction beautiful people..u guessed a lot of things too..One of my favourite films of all time, best comic book superhero movie like ever... i have seen it too many times..Joker was incredible, probably best villian performance of all time..much luv from Ireland💚☘️
12:19 There we _have_ it. There's Bruce Wayne helping his "masked crime-fighter" persona by building up his "wealthy _playboy"_ persona with the kinds of traits one would _never_ attribute to Batman.
31:27 "What if he told them the wrong place? What if Harvey's in the place _Rachel_ is?" You've got the _most_ incredible _instincts._ Have you ever tried writing your _own_ stories?
5:29 "He likes her?" "Seems like they have history." That's Rachel Dawes. She and Bruce met in _Batman Begins,_ the movie to which this is the sequel. In _that_ movie, though, she was played by a different actress. It's a defining trait of Batman, though, that he _never_ has a devoted love interest. He can't risk it. He _dares_ not risk it, because he goes after extraordinarily powerful, exceptionally well-connected _people_ who might come after _him_ by targeting _her._
The reason why they don't have an identity for the joker is because of a popular theory that the joker is some kind of special operation soldier. You should look up the theory
Also, in the DC multi-verse, there have been various "origins" for Joker, as per the comics. In one, his parents were circus performers, another he was sort of like the Unabomber, a normal guy that went off the rails, another he was marginalized by society and ''created' as a response (the movie Joker took that one). The series Gotham also had him as an 'evil twin'. In each one, his 'real name' was slightly different. They made his origin in this movie really murky to compensate for that. Every time he told how he got his scars on his face, the story was different.
Batman doesn’t kill… it’s the whole point of the movie. Probably should’ve watched the first one before watching the sequel, maybe it would’ve made more sense.
Just found you guys. If you haven’t already, I think an important movie for anyone watching cinema is American History X. It’s a hard watch. But it’s a powerful message. Anywho stay well and catch you on your next react! Subbed.
Regarding the real story of the Joker, he said in one of the comic books, that he has made up so many of them that he doesn't even himself remember, which one is true. Pure psychotic, that one.
7:54 "So he's not able to turn his head in the first suit." "Yeah. It's like a stiff neck, right?" In the 1960's TV show and the _animated_ series, Batman's been able to turn his head, but every Batman _movie_ has had our hero in a suit that, to really _protect_ him, had to be a suit if high tech _armor._ That includes the head and neck which, accordingly, left him unable to turn his head.
They can't find out who the Joker is because he has been a gangster for a long time before becoming "The Joker". He had his records and prints erased early on in his criminal career because he used to be an enforcer/hit man for the mob initially. He was the one the mob sent to take out Bruce Wayne's parents. That is why he is so good at running people and doing crime too because it's what he has been doing.
I have heard theories that he was a special forces soldier who got betrayed and got his scars and that is why he is all about chaos and proving that people are evil because of what the ones in power did to him. And because of his top secret clearance there is no trace of him anywhere because they erased his history so he could do the missions they sent him on and then deny they knew him if things went wrong. There's more to it but that's the theory I like the best.
No, you are making that up. In Nolan's universe that is intentionally left open. And in the comic canon that is also not the case. Joe Chill is not the Joker and did not work with the Joker. In the Burtonverse Joker killed the parents.
@@usulsk Just because it was "left out" of the Nolan movies doesn't mean that Jack Napier didn't exist. Who knows what direction they would have went had Heath Ledger lived.
23:06 "You think that _your_ client, one of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the _world,_ is secretly a _vigilante_ who spends his nights beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands, and your _plan_ is to _blackmail_ this person? Good luck." Lucius Fox has seen this conversation _coming._
Gordon being bad? It has probably happened in some obscure comic once or twice over the course of 85 years. It really helps to start with the first part of a trilogy, this is the second part.
55:55 - I like they focusing on the coin here. It’s not that the kid was going to be ok, it’s that the coin landed heads precisely because Batman interfered.
Great reaction! The Joker is my favorite villian of all time! But I see you both skipped Batman Begins from (2005) 🤣🤦🏾♂️But it's all good! You don't have to see the first one to understand the The Dark Knight! Although, I suggest you both still watch Batman Begins first before you watch The Dark Knight Rises because there's going to be some things brought up from Batman Begins that will be in the 3rd movie! So be sure to go watch Batman Begins first! 😉
Guys you really aught to watch Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises to get the whole story. It's one of the best movie trilogies of all time, so do yourselves a favour. Thanx for so many great videos, always love your reactions! 😃👍
Man I’d definitely recommend Batman Begins and The dark knight rises? The first and third film in this trilogy respectively. They are just ass good and really do a lot more for this world if you like the characters and stuff!
Maybe joker use to be special ops or a agent of some kind and those kind of people are all classified and cannot be identified unless you have proper clearance so higher people in the government might know who he is but regular cops nope no trance lol
If you want to see a good Batman story that's not tied to this, or any of the other live action movies, and is closer to the comic book version of the character, there are a bunch of animated movies that are actually really good. Animated versions of some of the best comic storylines including what's arguably the greatest Batman story ever told, The Dark Knight Returns (Parts 1 and 2). Story of a 60 year old Batman's return after a 10 year retirement. Part 1 is his first night out, Batman vs Two-Face and Batman vs the gang that's taken over Gotham in his absence.. Part 2 is Batman's final battle with the Joker... and Batman vs the U.S. Government... who sends Superman to take Bruce in or kill him. There's also Batman Mask of the Phantasm, which is tied in to the animated series from the 90's and is considered by comic book fans to be the greatest Batman movie ever. No other movie dives as deeply into Batman's psyche as that one. Under the Red Hood is another great one. It has the Joker in it but I can't say anything more than that without going into HEAVY spoilers!
The Dark Knight is one of the best Batman movies and has one of the best Jokers in the movie other than the Tim Burton's Batman and the animated series
In my opinion..this is the best Batman film... 2 recommendations.. knights are a great subject so check out.. 💥... Knight's Tale...another Heath Ledger film.. RIP Heath 🙏💚... 💥...Black Knight... Martin Lawrence...just too much fun 😁... Thanks ladies...🌿🌿🌿
This is one of the best made movies ✅☯️ I really don’t care of much about the one before this with the scarecrow it was pretty boring also the one after this dark Knight rises is probably the worst one lol 🙄🤦♂️ It’s amazing the difference between this movie and the others is like night and day 😂💯
Great reaction...Just subscribed. The Joker is my favorite villain. I like the Joker movie as well. You can remove yourself or your identity from the system in real life btw and live an independent private life. People who do this are considered "Nationals" etc. Then you have people who weren't born in hospitals and never got an SSN or Birth Certificate.
