The first train working into the new sidings at the Highland Spring Blackford Freight Terminal on the 20th of July 2022. Direct Rail Services Class 66, 66304 was the locomotive involved dropping off some wagons presumably to be used for training with the recently installed crane.

Good to see a little bit more freight on the railways. There was a company years ago called lovat spring and they used the VGA vans to transport their spring water.

This is brilliant, this could mark the reigniting of proper mixed goods trains!

Living like i do just 15 minutes away i was rather annoyed that i missed this event. Still it shouldn't be long now before we get a regular service out of here. Thanks for sharing and a great piece of filming.

It’s high time they brought the station back to Blackford.

This is on the site of the former station so that will never happen now.

I wish but there isn't much of a point because Gleneagles station is a mile or two away

Will these services be used for Tesco by any chance?

The new yard is primarily to serve the Highland Spring bottling plant, but I think they would welcome other local users. Where is the nearest Tesco?

@@SteamboatWilley Blackford is kinda half wae between stirling and perth. Probably perth. Might be a wee tesco in auchterarder. Not worth stopping a train for though.

Who paid for the terminal's construction ?
@billsinclair7878
@billsinclair7878 Год назад
Mainly the taxpayer. +£4.5M civil costs, +£8.5M rail (so far). Highland Spring ~£4.5M.

the crane cost 1.5 million and is the only one of its kind in the world due to the amount of sound proofing required as to not piss off the residents of blackford..
