Nice ..so you fiddle with reels like I do. Those Alvey reels are so strange..lol. I've seen guys cast far with them. Not my cup of tea...lol

@@terencesimpson100 , - I like them, but have to watch that the line doesn't slip off spool. I found that by holding a finger just Above a side handle, to cast, the line won't catch on a side handle, of those that have them close to the spool edge! ... 🎣

Morning Michael. Yes I remember them closing down. I think in the early 2000s. Great reel. Most multipliers have a "free spool" these days. Grinder are taking over fast. So much easier to cast especially for a newbie angler. No mess no fuss. I'm still a multiplier fan but change over every now and then.

Lol...yes. we really make the most of a session. Your kite knowledge is way more than mine. Ok googled Zammo kite. I like it but with a cross support. Need to test your peg release idea and see where to mount. Lots of planning before I choose a design

​@@terencesimpson100, - the zammo kite shape is simple in design, there is something known as, "tacking" of the angle of flight! Can use something thin like a matchstick, fold one of the side lines to the main line or bridal connection, make a loop and put matchstick in. This shortens one of the side lines. This causes the kite to fly off to one side, off it's true flight direction. This is done according to a side blowing wind, from where you stand. The tail length will also depend on the wind. What you use for a tail will have an effect! An orange pocket can be used, it is porous for the wind to blow thru. It is fairly heavy and two can be tied together for longer tail. I made my kite tails from the white and red striped plastic tape that is used as a barrier or, do not go into a taped off area! Blue and white, & red and yellow or whatever! As the tape is wide, I cut my tape length ways, making tails narrower. My kite tails are in lengths of metres! For display flying, I made tails from various coloured crinkle paper. Can't use them for kite fishing! 🪁🪁

🪁. I made my kites from bin bags, there are different colour bags available. Also from car seat covers that mechanics use to put over a car seat to protect them from dirty overalls mostly when a car is taken for a test drive after being worked on! I have kites with Toyota and Castrol labels. There cud be others! It's advertising too! 🪁
