Fitness Influencers NEED To Stop Recording In Gym's... 

I hope gyms ban recording, this is ridiculous.

My current GYM has a "No recording" rule. You can still have your phone, but if you record yourself or others, you are out. The least stressful GYM experience in my life.

I was watchin a tiktok of a woman getting yelled at in the gym for recording when I got the notif for this video 😭

If these ego-fueled "fitness influencers" don't want people in their stupid shot then maybe they can build their own home gyms and record their entitled asses alllll they want from there. Bc I'm sorry, if someone puts hands on me when I'm just trying to walk past them in a gym that I paid to be in, we're taking it to the parking lot.

As a regular gym goer, I can definitely relate to this. Most people are considerate enough to put their tripods close enough to them that they’re not taking up an unreasonable amount of space, so it’s usually not too bad. But what I hate more is when people strip to their underwear and start flexing for an instagram shot RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FRICKIN’ GYM! I make it a point to steer clear of that area entirely because I don’t want to be anywhere in that person’s public nudity selfie. Like, DO YOU HAVE NO SHAME?!?

Honestly...this makes me want to deliberately walk past the cameras now just to annoy people.

My mom used to do yoga and she had a yoga class at the gym closest to us. Now people are moving in where we live and get tons of people at tourist attractions and gyms. My mom got filmed doing her yoga class and would have been on social media if she didn’t act fast. She told the manager and the video was deleted. The person who filmed her got banned. She loves doing yoga at home but doesn’t want to risk being filmed again at the gym. It’s because of these wannabe influencers that have little to no respect for others

I was in 2 car accidents within a month from each other. The 2 people who hit me were old and drunk. I had to go to the gym to do physiotherapy, and some of the exercises were out of the norm. The entire time I worked out, I got stared at. It hindered my progress because I felt uncomfortable. At some point, I didn't give shit anymore, and my progress improved. Walking backwards was one of the things I had to do.

Bring back shaming & decorum. Whats even more funny to me, these "influencers" who have this "main character syndrome" don't even realise just how NPC they are because there are Thousands of them all doing the same thing and acting the same way. If I Do go gym, which is probably 5x a year, it's only between 2-5am when there's no one or a few who had the same idea as me and we work out in peace.

I’m a cleaner at a couple gyms around my town and I get this attitude and energy all the time. People go complain to the gym staff that “the cleaner is in my way” or “they’re in my videos” and the staff couldn’t care less as I’m literally doing what I’m paid for. I don’t care that you want 10 metres of personal space or no one to walk into your video, you’re in a public space and I’m doing what I was asked to do by vacuuming and social distancing around you. I got 2 hours to clean the place, I don’t have time to wait around for these precious babies. They choose to be here, I have to be here or I don’t make an income

I remember when I was in girls weight training in high school, in the beginning all of us were terrified to work out because we were scared of being judged. Even now as an adult I’ll talk to girls and they’ll say they refuse to go to the gym because they’re afraid of being judged. I especially hear this from overweight women. It’s so awful how these people think it’s ok to make fun of someone’s body, especially when they’re supposed to be in a safe place with no judgement. As much as phones are great to have in gyms (for music, podcasts, etc) sometimes I wish there were no cellphone policies. It would fix all of this nonsense, but it would definitely help

theres this one tiktoker gym lady and istg shes so respectful, despite recording at the gym, she informs the people around her that she is recording and that if they are okay with being recorded or not (honestly bare minimum and common sense but its soo much better than these other gym tiktokers)

It’s not like someone was taking pictures on the street and you accidentally walked passed and feel sorry. It’s a freaking gym and people are recording for at least few mins or more. Get a gym room at home if you don’t want anybody disturbed.

So glad I can use the gym at work and not be bothered by rude a-holes like that. Why were they touching others too? That’s an invasion of personal space! As I said before, I am autistic and even I don’t do things like that. So if I’ve been able to learn about boundaries why can’t they?!

These people are so entitled I don’t understand why they’re so upset. They can just edit them out of the video. Or do the workout at home. If you want to be recording yourself and not be interrupted so bad then make a little tiny gym at your house and work out there.

At the moment, I only go for treadmills. I used to go specifically to the gym, but I stopped, because as soon as I approached the gym, men 20-30 years older than me ran in front of me to take a seat or take the dumbbells I needed. And then they looked around and, looking at me with furious eyes, began to violently pull the poor machines. And they were annoyed at me when I shifted the weight on the machine, because I can't exercise with the same weight as them yet. So when it gets warmer outside, I will go to work out on the machines installed in the park, since no one did that there and everyone was calmly doing their exercises

Same vibe with those delulu instagarm models in public places like subways or shibuya intersection who gets upset when there are other people gets in their frame. I swear some are doing it in purpose to get clout, does not matter if its hate as long as its clout

The funny thing is that since the "fitness" influencers are stopping their workout if a person walks by, they probably don't actually care about working out, and are just doing it for clout.

My mom and dad go to the gym they are mid 50’s to early 60’s, it’s amazing, they’re taking care of themselves.

I haven't gone to a gym since university, mostly because it's no longer free, but those were the day before tiktok when all of us looked like we were working out in our fathers old clothes, and we would maybe post a picture on facebook or instagram. After seeing all the videos of these influencers, I am not steping a foot inside a gym soon.

This is one of many reasons I don’t want to go to the gym. I also worry about people judging me (this is probably just anxiety), and the fact that I can’t work out in a binder.

That's just one of the reasons so many people won't go to a gym or a swimming baths to try get fit because they know someone will either humiliate them for them to see there and then or spread something online which is even worse.

Seriously though, I'm pretty sure if they just continued working out no one who watches it would even give it a second thought. Also the pushing one holds a special place in hell for me because once at a concert my friend was having a panic attack and a girl came over to try and help her and didn't know I was a friend (since a lot of people decided to crowd around her like that would help??) and pushed me away which as someone with multiple mental issues really upset me even if I know it was with good intentions (and we hung out together afterwards) so for it to be intentional must be so much worse omg

I never get the whole getting mad when someone walks past the camera thing, because workouts are the same action just being repeated. They are blocking anything the audience hasn't seen before. Plus I see it as an opportunity. Dude walks by with heavier weights? That's my new goal, audience.

Coming from a former gym worker. Please don’t record yourself at the gym if you’re going to be like this. And if you aren’t like this but you still want to record, check with staff and those around you to make sure it’s okay. Mini Rant: I never met a gym influencer when I worked there but I see far too many of them on the internet, like this one guy. My friend and I (they also worked there) were watching RU-vid shorts one day and this guy thought he was being funny by making a short about putting as much weight as possible on one of the machines and leaving it there. My friend left a comment saying, “Please do not do this. If you leave weights on the machines, the employees have to remove them. You are causing them unnecessary back pain.” We know this because it happened to one of the former employees. And he replied being all like, “It’s just a prank bro.” Whatever. It’s not funny or a prank. But let me just say it again. *Do not* leave unnecessary amount of weights on machines. Make sure that if you can put them on the machine you can also take them off.

Public phone use should be banned in gyms. Unless your phone is attached to you by headphones or you’re otherwise doing something private like watching RU-vid either put it away or risk having it taken by staff until you leave.
