Fitting 33’s (285/70/17) on Stock Frontier Pro4x - 3rd Gen Frontier

Well I got my tires on my Nissan Frontier pro4x chose the K2s Firestone all weather 285/70/17 on stock Nissan rims truck 1:00 was lifted 4” front and 21/2” rear looks level tires fit perfect no rub no mud flaps, you motivated me thanks!

Thanks for the very informative video. I have a set of 285/75/16 that I had on my 2021 SV with minor rubbing on stock suspension with mud flaps removed. I just signed for a 2024 SV today and plan on running the same tire and wheel combination on the new truck. The only difference between the size you put on and the size I have is 0.1" in diameter difference. I noticed a difference in wheel well size between the 2nd gen. and the 3rd gen. The 3rd gen. has a larger clearance on the front as compared to the 2nd gen. Hopefully I won't have any rubbing issues once I take delivery of the new truck.

All that is missing is the 1.5 lift kit and it's perfect for me.

I have seeing some videos that with a Heat Blower you can push In’ the part that is making contact with the tire..

Is there no requirement to trim because the stock wheels aren't as offset as aftermarket wheels? I am installing an RCkilla lift from ADO today and in the next few days want to install 285/70r17s. Don't mind heat gun, but do not want to trim.

Thats pretty wild that they fit. Ill be taking my mudflaps off anyways because i worry more about them getting hooked on rocks and breaking other stuff.

How was gas mileage??

A little lift in that thing and it’s gonna look great. I’ve got f250 and I’m constantly thinking about downsizing. If I did the Nissan would be it. I just wish they had a bigger gas tank. Once you put a bigger tire on these the gas mileage is about the same as my gas 250.

ill be putting 275s on mine. ill pass on all of the rubbing.

Should of notched the mud flaps

Noticed while you were working on the first wheel, and taking off the clip style weight, that the wheel has tape weights too.

I guarantee you'll have rubbing while moving over bumps... had the same issue with my Xterra Pro-4x. 2" lift will easily take care of it. Plus, it'll give you the much needed entry that is desperately needed.

I have the Koni 2” lift kit on my 3rd Gen pro 4x and I’m getting the new Wildpeak AT/4W’s in 285/70/17 put on in a couple weeks. I have stock wheels and stock UCA’s. Hoping based off this video that I should be alright.

what size aftermarket rims are an exact replacement for the oem, or rather, instead of someone looking it up for me, please explain how to tell? thanks

So you gained ~0.55" ground clerance with 33s? Would lifting the truck by 1.5" help mitigate the rubbing issue??

The bigger tires make the truck look much better.

I think if you just cut the inside lip on the mud flap you could retain it...

will this larger tire hit the top of the wheel well during extreme suspension travel/compression?
