A lot of my negative thoughts occur when I am unable to journal (driving), and by the time I get in a place I can journal, I have honestly forgotten the thoughts. Suggestions to process these negative thoughts?

I keep several sets of journals. Take a negative journal in the car with you. Pull over if you need to

I just found your channel and I find this very fascinating. Do you mean for the negativity journal to be something you vent in or do you ask yourself written questions and try to analyze yourself?

How would I be able to manage privacy and the negative journal? I have an 11 year old that I’m concerned will be tempted to peek when I’m not looking. Her dad and I are separated so I’m sure my feelings towards him will fill quite of bit of my pages and I’m concerned she’ll be nosy and peek. I rather keep them hidden but sometimes my negative thoughts just don’t have a convenient time.

My clients will keep it in their car over night but on their desk or drawer during the day. Some put it under their mattress or in a bag on the shelf

@@LoriWheeler thank you. Also any tips on burning the journal when living in a building apartment. We have a terrace but don’t want to panic the neighbors with the smell of burning pages.

My therapist said not to do this when i mentioned it because no emotion is negative or positive….thoughts?

Correct they are not but that doesn’t stop your body and mind from thinking it is. It helps with the process. All of my clients and myself use this practice

So hatred for a person is not negative and love for a person is not positive? Doesn’t make sense to me.
