fix a SEIZED “fuel pump” WITHOUT dropping the gas tank (over driving the voltage)

It’s never fun dropping the fuel tank to get a fuel pump started again. A technique that we’ve used is to overdrive the pump with a burst of higher voltage just to break the pump free. You wouldn’t want to run your pump on overdrive for long, it’s worth a try to get the pump going this way then dropping the whole tank and replacing a pump.

is the fuel pump even getting the full 12 volts when it turns on via ignition? there was an instance where I hooked up a fuel pump directly to a 12v battery and it unseized. That would lead me to believe there's less voltage(or amps) when normally attempting to start the vehicle did you try with 12v first? good video

the fuel pump itself is not even getting 12 volts when you're turning the ignition trying to start the vehicle(I Think) so a lot of times when you connect just 12 volts directly to a pump it will unseize. So depends, it could last a long time. (why it got stuck? old gas? corrosion? how bad?)

I use this method for testing motorbikes I repair even as the main battery but last night I forgot to unplug it woke up this morning to it dead recharged it and I fuel pump at all😩

You would have to drop the tank. That acces spot is only for the fuel sending unit on those older ef civics

Why don't a;ll these vehicle manufacturers put a hole in the floor(some do) so you don't have to be dropping the fkn tank, they sure don't make it ez for us the bastards,lol
