Guys mine 2020 At4 this one 5.3 Is doing it. And it's hard to believe these trucks are doing this. We need to file law- suit, in together way Just because despite ALL THE PREVIOUS YEARS. they are still selling em with the knowledge of the issues.. Definitely let's unite
At 74,000 Miles, My 2019 Chevrolet High Country started transmission shuttering, I had the dealership flush the transmission. So far after spending $540.00 It fixed it afterwards !!!! I hope it's gone Forever 😊
Three flushes, plus a new torque converter. Still shudders and shifts hard in between first and second. Also, AFM lifter failure. Resulting in total engine failure. Engine was rebuilt under warranty. No more Chevys for me
Had a 2018 Colorado 8 sp doing same thing went to AutoZone and bought the shutter fix fluid and luckily that fixed the issue, guessing my fluid is incompatible, shutter fix fixed the issue
Thanks for the video. This is what’s happening to my truck although not as aggressively as yours but it annoys the hell out of me. Taking it in tomorrow and hopefully it will get fixed
🤣 mine went out at 10,000 miles got 16,000 now it’s paid off I just figured if it goes out before warranty expires I’ll get rid of it . It’s a badass truck man keep it .
Your gonna need a trans control harness also eventually to replace the trans temp sensor .Your trans temp should not fluctuate so much .They usually set a p0711 overtime and may cause rough shifts also.
I just took my 2018 Sierra 26,000 miles in for this issue. They did a complete trans. flush and added Mobil 1 Syn. ATF. No shutter now, but not sure if this will be a permeant fix, time will tell. Reality; I probably own a $60,000 vibrating dildo.
Just brought my 2017 1500 in for this shutter. 29k miles I noticed it a couple thousand miles ago. They changed the fluid out and it did not fix it so they are putting a new torque converter in for free. Thank god! 5 year or 60k power train!
@@ItzTazful I can not emphasize enough, if you vehicle is still under manufacturer drive train warranty, take your vehicle back to the dealer and complaint!!
Just got mine flushed today, not sure if they did a “triple flush” but the dealer definitely flushed the transmission fluid and as of now it runs smooth. The service guy did mention the new fluid GMC recommended.. so hopefully this is more than a bandaid fix but a permanent one.
. That's really incredible that issue. Saying is not just fixed with that flush and new fluid..? It must be just a thicker fluid to delay the problem..
@@EndoftheRd The previous transmission fluids absorbed moisture which caused problems with the normal operation of the torque converter. Many people found a "shutter" problem after several thousand miles of driving. The latest fluid fixes the problem and no one is complaining about the "shutter" problem reoccurring. I am not saying it fixed 100% of problems.
I asked the dealer how they would change the fluid in my 06 Silverado. As soon as he said "we drop the pan..." I said no. took it elsewhere to some one who does the fluid flush. 284000 miles later no problems with that transmission.
well you kinda have to replace the filter in the trans at some point. i have the 4l60e and always do pan drop and replace filter if im doing fluid change.
Mine literally just started doing this today. Still under extended warranty. Fingers crossed they cover it and just replace the trans. I’ve got it flushed and it was fine for a few thousand miles but now the shutters back
@@kylekeaveney2393 covered all with warranty?? i also get a clunk noise when about to come to a complete stop. but still running fine. rpm move a little when downshifting as well
@@user-oy8bi4qg6j yeah man they covered all of it but again I have an extended warranty package that I like paid for separately. It was like a dealer add-on that I had to pay for. I think it’s called advantage I’m not sure.
Too late for me. I traded my beautiful GMC 2018 Sierra because the dealer said there was nothing wrong with the transmission. I bought a Toyota. My first foreign vehicle (made in Indiana). Always had Fords or GM vehicles for forty years. No more for me.
Yup my 2019 GMC Sierra slt transmission went out at 10,000 miles . Makes me sick and good ole gm put a remanufactured transmission in a brand new vehicle. Still same shudders and jerks 🤣. Warranty up in July getting rid of it definitely
Best move you could have made! I own a good old 2013 Tundra the 500k mile 2 Gen trucks and almost was dumb enough to trade it for a 17 Silverado z71 ltz! Whew close call so glad I didn't! Apparently the 8l90 transmission in those are absolutely horrible!
@@jmarco4331 It was 3/15/21. I had already gone to the dealer for the trans flush and it fixed the shutter. Then I started to notice the hard shifts. I remember cause I was going to get my tags when I parked at the clerks office the truck asked to download the update I acknowledged went inside, came out update done! Immediately noticed no hard shifts, not even once since then. I have the exact year, engine, trans as yours
@@fredp3088 oh, my dealer update was done like a June of ‘20. But no trans flush to my knowledge . I’ve had couple download updates but I don’t know what they were for. Guess I’ll have to get back to the dealer....Thankx for sharing....
Same problem in my 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500. Its a lease. With this problem prevent you from buying the lease out? I'm trying to decide whether to do that or not. I have an appointment Monday to get the problem fixed. I'm just afraid it'll come back once I have bought it out.
They told me this at one chevy dealer for my 2018 high country 6.2 8speed trans to do that flush the fluid and replace it but I had to pay like 500 outta pocket and didn’t guarantee it was going to fix the issue so I waited it out now in September took it in again turns out bad transmission now I’m just waiting
The 8 and especially 10 speed transmission made a big difference in towing capability in my GMC Yukon but it appears these transmissions really have some major problems that need to be dealt with!
Took it to the dealer Change transmission oil work better on my 2017 chevy silverado high country one year later transmision when out at 60,160 miles, cost to fix it around 4,000
I can't believe I almost traded my old bulletproof 2013 Tundra for a 2017 Silverado! After doing research the 8l90 transmission is absolutely horrible! I didn't want to believe it but a guy at My work has a 2019 and he has had two transmissions before 90k! Pathetic chevy wow!
Paul, sorry to yell u but no flush or program will fix your transmission problems. Torque converter AND oil pumps plus other internal parts are faulty on these transmission. Mine shit the bed at 99,700 , had all fluids changed at dealer every 30,000 and always took great care of it. If you get new transmission they are replacing these parts above oem specs. Look into refurbished transmission and good ones tell you about the upgrades like Torque converter ( not the only fault part) Mine just cost 5100 for shop to do. I have 6/L80 but it is more reliable than the 8/L80 so hope you can save up and have updated transmission put in. Good luck and shame on gm
"Service bulletin," not a recall. Means you still have to pay for it. Thanks GM. It also only temporarily fixes the issue; for most people, the shudder returns. Mine came back 30k miles later.
Ive been feeling my truck vibrate a bit and this morning i drove it for 2 min at around 15mph nd it gave up on me. It wont drive or reverse. If i turn it on and off it will drive for a few seconds then gives up.. thoughts ok the problem?
I had the same problem and changing the fluid fixed it. Now I’m getting a code for rough idle. Any idea what it could it be? I change the spark plugs already. I’m thinking about cleaning the injectors.
If the lifters aren't "pumped up", meaning they are not receivng enough oil pressure or have gone bad, then the valves will not be opened completely. This would cause a rough idle. GMC been having lifter problems so that might be your problem.it is why some ppl are using the range to disable AFM/DFM.
IAC (Idle Air Control) valve needs changed. Easy fix! When you get it apart may not be a bad idea to clean the MAF sensor if available to do. They can get gummed up over time. This all can be avoided “over time” with better fuel OR running something as simple as SeaFoam once a month or two months.
Have you tried Lubguard platinum? Have a 2017 High Country 6.2L bought new want to add this even though I don't have shutter issue's. Did the triple flush several years ago and swapped it with Amsoil ATF.
@@Turbomontess I did the triple flush before it left the dealer, was bought new, and was allowed to use the fluid of my choice, which was Amsoil, and it will not effect the warranty because mine was under warranty too, as it was brand new.
On my 2016 gmc sierra denali truck it started shifting funny. I went to the dealership and had it check out and they said that gmc knows there is a problem with the fluid that's in the trucks but there was no recall!! Now gmc does offer a fix of flushing the transmission new filter and using mobile one up graded atf blue label on the quart of fluid you buy. The problem stems from the transmission fluid breaking down and holding moisture or too much water I was told but either way the money we pay for these trucks there should have been a recall 😡😡😡😡
My 2019 at 40,000 miles is doing the same damn thing.. taking it back the for second time at 44,000 miles . I had to pay $100 deductible to fix it, turns out it didn’t fix the problem! I guess the $100,000 power train warranty is a joke and won’t cover this issue so damn frustrated! GMC DOESN’T STAND BEHIND THEIR TRUCKS! Tuesday Ill hear another false report/fix. I’m about ready to trade it in for a Toyota.. done with American made junk!!!
It first started for me at 88k miles, 4 fuel injectors were bad, got that fixed and it still does it, so than I got my transmission fluid flush and I just got it back today, and it continues to do it, any idea what it can be? I have a 2016 Denali 1500
I have the same exact model, I changed out the P0711 Trans temp sensor and didn't fix the problem, I'm thinking about trying what they are saying on here about flushing the transmission fluid completely.
ingison89 unfortunately I have 133000 miles Im out of the warranty but tomorrow Im going to my local dealership here in Florida and try to fix this issue
He had also said that you shouldn't use MMO in newer vehicles. He is wrong. Every month run it through. Cleans and lubricates. You do not need to use it every fill up.
