I am so glad I found this video. I purchased 4 of the same toilets from Home Depot about 2 years ago and they all were experiencing this issue. I’m so glad I don’t have to replace the toilets and I’m going to replace all of the fill valves instead. You Rock!!
Literally just happened to me as well, ripped up the floor and took the toilet off, put it back on it wont fill back up. This is such an easy fix thankfully.
Loved the short, succinct, and to the point explanation instead of any extraneous cuteness. Including the ‘good enough for government work’. My attitude exactly. Also loved your dog getting you to breeze through the obvious parts. He was getting bored.
We have had nothing but problems with this damn toilet since we purchased it 2 yrs ago. We have replaced replaced replaced on this thing. Even had a plumber come out and was told these things are nothing but trouble for most people. So yeah- good luck. And your commentary had me in stitches. 😂👍🏻. Thanks and good luck. We are now down to turning the damn water line off and on every time someone uses it. We are buying a whole new toilet. This brand and style is not worth it. It’s like manufacturers are going downhill. Nothing lasts. Nothing. Ok. Rant over. Lol. Thanks for the video. It was my last attempt before deciding we are chucking this style. 👍🏻
Perfect. I’m a single mom with two kids. This video made it easy for me to fix it. Same toilet. Same issue. And your video made me laugh I was worried.😅
Wow, thank you! I went to Home Depot and explained the problem and the guy there gave me a whole new kit that cost about $35 and you gave me the best remedy ever! That’s all the toilet needed so I’m going back to Home Depot and get my money back!😡Thanks again
Have the exact same model and problem. The process was less than 10 minutes to fix. A guy quoted my mother $100 but only spent $10 on the korky fill valve. Thanks for saving me some money!
Thanks for this video! I have the exact same toilet with the exact same problem. Followed your video to the T, problem solved 🙌🏾with a couple chuckles along the way, loved your quirk humor.
Thank you so much. Same thing happened to me I took the lid off and put it under my bed. Now that I’m selling my house I needed to fix it. One quick RU-vid search and you had it perfectly mapped out. Headed to Home Depot now! Thanks again
And this is what I ended up doing, and it worked great! And actually...I didn't realize that the reason the toilet seemed like it was running was because it never fully filled. So changing this fill valve out allowed the tank to properly fill with enough water, and my toilet now flushed with SO much more strength. A pleasant side-effect!
Ok. Newby move, I didn't shut off water at the street, then followed your instructions. I guess my toilet valve wasn't working, so I'm just about done mopping up my bathroom. Water was really hard to shut off!! All in a dress.🤷👗
Thank you so much for this video. I was able to change out my fill value by watching you. Well explained, and your dog is cutie. Again, thank you for saving me money.
"The most unsatisfying erotic literature I've ever read"... Thanks for the very easy to follow video and for throwing some humor in there. Off to do some "good enough for government" work!
Thanks for this. Been having same problem with my GB dual’s tank-filling, and I’m not the most technically skilled guy let’s say 😅, so I will retry per your easily-followed vid steps. 🤞🏻👍
Having the same problem. It seems like the fill valve is rubbing on the side of the tank even after I adjusted it a counter-clockwise turn. I might have to use the fill valve from my old toilet. Why do they make the hole on the bottom of the tank so close to the edge?
my mom's landlord got a new high efficiency toilet from glacier bay which has low water level in bowl - it's the single flush. basically the cheapest one at Home Depot for $ 109. (she rents). We don't like the low water level in the bowl and want to find a workaround to add more into it rather than buying a whole new toilet. Would this korky fill valve allow for an adjustment so that it could actually bring more water into the bowl? Any other tips? Thanks so much.
Wow! Man you made this look too easy, that I thought me the worst handyman could get it done, everything was fine until it was time to turn back on the water!! It leaked badly from the hand tighten screw, luckily I had the old one on hand, I used it instead and wrenched it down just a bit! No more Leaks!😂😅 Thanks for the Video though!
I have the same issue. It doesn’t refill on the first flush but if I flush it again it starts refilling. Seems like maybe it needs to be cleaned somehow?
I have the same set up, and on the right side where the black tube leads to the overflow I have a problem, the water starts to fill and then about halfway the float thing on the side of the overflow goes up and the water from the tube just starts going directly into the overflow and I have to manually hold it down for the water to fill the toilet…. Any solutions ?
Wait your top came off so easily mine dosnt come off like that you cn slightly lift it up yet it feels like it's attacked to something inside and pulling it might brake what ever it's attached to
Usually you can push down on top twist and top comes off or loosens. Let it fush out put back on could as new. You can do it with water on but just barely lift let it. blow some water out and screw back on because water will come blowing all over the place.
Have had one about 10 yrs. Look at the overflow tube. Water can't be above the overflow tube opening or water will run out. Apparently this is so they can use the same tank on toilets that use more than 1.6 gallons per flush. Good luck.
I was wondering if I was the only one, guess not. Here is the crazy thing, I purchased two of these, by a difference of about 2-3 months. These with the black fluidmasters are completely trash, the one with the white fill valve for some reason seems to be designed differently and doesn’t have this issue. The same exact toilet too, this is completely crazy. I was wondering why the other one didn’t have this issue, now I know why… dang design
Thank you. Will try this. Hate the toilet though for myriad reasons. Poor design and doesn’t clean the bowl well. That they put this to market without improving the design first yo have it work like other toilets is disappointing
Just love the humour you added. You also made it look easy. Looked up this issue for my daughter while I'm minding her felines. I'll let her figure it out. I have my hands full eating and watching Netflx! 🤭
