Thanks, very helpful for those that have a problem with their Bissell turning on and off shortly afterwards. This solved the issue for me. I smelt burning and cleaned the brush roll, but after watching your video, I discovered that the inner part or wheel wasn't moving that well.

Sure. This problem with the CrossWave can be expected; unless, you do what I do now, vacuuming before using the CrossWave, which has stopped the problem for me.

I never thought of that! Thank you!! You have saved my floors!!

You're welcome! Yeah, it is a real downer to think the CrossWave might have a serious flaw, because you can't imagine going back to the old way of washing floors, which is a much inferior way. I should also mention to check outlet splitters and extension cords to which the CrossWave is hooked to. I once had the safety switch trigerred, because of a loose outlet splitter. I thought my CrossWave broke, and was about to use the warranty, before I luckily discovered the problem was caused by a loose outlet splitter.

Mine isn't turning off, but the head isn't spinning. I've took the brush out and I can't see anything in the spinning part. It is moving when turned by hand, but doesn't turn on it's own.

I can only think of the similar experience I had, the problem turning out to be the electrical outlet and not the vacuum itself. Sorry, but that's all I have to offer at the moment. Also, I'm not a believer of the possibility of the motor burning out, because they make motors almost indestructible nowadays. (I put a lot of motors through the wringers, including keeping a tower fan running 24/7, and all but one having survived so far.) If you end up at a dead end with regards to fixing the problem, I suggest yo take it to a Bissell service center, of which there are many. I have taken a machine there, and the experience provided zero hassle, which is why I'm a big fan of the Bissell company.

I had the same problem the truth is it's not the hair... It is the bearings INSIDE!!!! And unfortunately you have to replace the whole head when you smell plastic or it stops working for good.. Tell tale sign is if you smell plastic!! It really sucks because the piece that needs to be replaced is very easy to fix but they don't sell it separately anywhere you have to buy the whole freaking head.. Fortunately mine was under warranty and they replace the head at a shop for free I would say keep water away from the left inside gear that you were picking at. And be very careful when you self clean don't put too much water in there.. Unbelievable such a great machine but a shity quality design for the bearings..

For me, removing the hair or whatever stuck around the end of the axle fixed the issue, but whether it now operates weaker or not because of developed bearings issues is another question; the good thing is that we can rely on Bissell's excellent customer care to help us.

muzikmon2267 great, mine just stopped working it smelled like burning plastic 😭 And i have a warranty I think but I don’t have a way to get to a shop to get it fixed. Hoping they’ll just send a new one

@@mandylund7696 Yes and don't take no for an answer.. really complain and say you had a lot of people complaining about the same thing what type of crap are they playing.

@@mandylund7696 My question for you is since the same thing happened to you.. how are you cleaning the unit? I think in the beginning I cleaned the unit incorrectly and could have caused water to get inside.. I was putting it in its tray putting it in the sink. Then I would put a little bit of water in the tray and turn it on to clean it.. I feel like that was a bad idea. I think too much water was being poured I think there's a reason they have a max line and you have to use a cup to pour the water into the tray.. The other thing that could be causing water to get into that bearing is look at your rollers carefully there supposed to be like a little CUFF that goes over the bearing that is attached to the plastic on the roller.. one of mine the rug roller actually was deformed and got ruined.. which caused the gear not to be protected anymore by the roller...

@@mandylund7696 Another question is only use hydrogen peroxide, or vinegar to clean all my floors I never use the recommended solution.. I just replaced the fill line ( just like a use the solution that comes with it ) with the vinegar or hydrogen peroxide of course don't mix them together.. so if you did not use vinegar or anyting else in your machine than the problem still happens regardless of what you use.. Just please let me know what solution you used it'll help me understand if I did anything wrong?

I had a similar problem but my unit just didn't turn on at all anymore. The unit had been used only a few times in a about a 2-21/2 year period. You can watch my video at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JFCqfCQ1g1Y.html . I hadn't noticed on the box about warranty because my box was in basement and i thought it was only a 2 yr warranty because all other models had only a 2 yr warranty. Only after taking it apart did i find that pet pro has a 3yr warranty :(( ...

My friend, who is an electrical engineer, theory is that due to lack of use the soap residue hardened and caused a part to get stuck, leading to the fuse popping.

@@WASTHEBESTTopProduct Your probably Right but a hell of a place to put a fuse and soldered on . Plus only 75$ limited warranty total ....most techicians won't even drive to your house( Post or Pre COVID) .... for that money and this dinky unit although useful is pretty expensive :(((( here in canada anyways !! Tks for reply and feedback

@@ricopane5385 I actually found the Bissell CrossWave very sturdy, which is why I am surprised about what happened to you. I still have my original one from three years ago. I have put it to the test (as you can see in my videos), and every time I use it I use it for four/five hours non-stop, and occasionally I use it daily and occasionally I use it bi-weekly. It is still going strong, I see it as a very sturdy machine, indeed.

@WASTHEBEST Top Product Hi, Well Someone else replied to me saying that posssibly because i didn't use it enough, the fuse blew cause parts were probably like seized. :( But also if for you a 3 yr old vacuum means its lived its life already wow... big companies are happy to have you as there consumer :) Anyways i also put up a new video showing that the machine is now functioning with a external fuse holder if it ever needs to be replaced again... Tks

Sorry, this channel is just starting out, so it's not currently very clean. What I do is twist the rotating part that the brush connects to with the needle nose pliers, breaking it loose from the debris preventing it from rotating. Ideally, the debris should be removed from behind it, but that is a difficult task I did not bother pursuing. Instead, I only pluck out the debris sticking out. What I did worked pretty well for me, having to perform the fix only once more, since I posted the video two months ago. However, I have changed my approach to cleaning, no longer using the CrossWave to swallow up everything and anything. Now I only use the CrossWave on floors that have already been vacuumed, to wash off the invisible dirt. This is because the CrossWave is not ideal for picking up hair, and it reduces the number of times I have to clean the components of the CrossWave.
