I had my knock sensor go in my 6.0 liter vortec too. Likely from the two times I pressure washed the engine. I have it throw the code at 101,000 miles, sill haven’t fixed it now at 217,000 miles. Runs great.

Dont forget to clean or replace the oil sending unit screen on the back of the engine. You could also try to run a quart of Lacquer thinner in your tank to try and clear out the catalytic converter and possibly clear the EVAP code.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Yes a high voltage arcing across the outside of a plug can cut a slight line in the ceramic portion of a plug. I’ve seen them and it looks like a scratch along the ceramic. If let go long enough I suppose the ceramic could crack off along that line.
I changed the plugs in a chevy 2500 and got a cyl 5 misfile a few mins after running it. Turns out i cracked the plug just like that. Easy new plug and no problem. Not sure how the plug broke. Parts store guy said I used the wrong socket but never had a problem like that before.
I'm curious if thats what I did also - I used a plug socket tho. I think it was cracked already and setting in the metal dish made the porcelain separate.
Cool video, I have a 2004 silverado that body style too, just had a steel brake line blow out on it. You should of had Andrew pull your bed and weld a cross member in the rear. They are good trucks just the rust is a killer, I have tried to keep mine painted underneath over the years, my bedside fenders are rusting rest of truck is good. I keep up with Andrew too, keep up the good work!
Nice truck to have been given 😂 I had an '02 Duramax 4x4 that I absolutely loved. Added a gooseneck and got a lot done with that truck, but I sold it. Im not much for 1500 half tons, but if I had to have one, that 5.3 vortec would be my choice. I drove a Tahoe with that engine years ago and I remember being impressed at how smooth and powerful it was. Easy maintenance, cheap parts. That's a really cool truck. I suggest to keep it and take care of it and don't buy a new truck. They're way too expensive now and in my opinion not even as good as those 2000-2007 trucks. Try and keep that one running well enough to pass on to your family when u croak. You wont regret it. If you sell it, you will regret it 😂

I was trying to convince him to convert the old Grey dodge into a mountain service truck - but he was saying the way to go is a trailer that way he can haul it around with a bunch of different vehicles and to and from the mountain.. which makes sense.
@@CerebralAilment i agree, a trailer is ideal for off the mountain but taking a trailer up and down that thing full of fuel etc will be rough on it not to mention ground clearance. Knowing Andrew it will be an old military trailer with 30” of ground clearance😂
My daughter use to have a really hard time waking up with her alarms for school. Then she got a nose ring like Samantha's. The first time she overslept I stuck a 9 volt to it and she never missed an alarm again lol
to replace knock sensor two wires that come from the computer sorter together and put one wire onto the connect to that from that put a 3/8 knock sensor in front of the block and connect thewire to the sensor and reset the computer no more problems
If you ever don’t want to break a rusted knock sensor you can just cut the wire and patch it into the other one. Computer is just looking for a ground. Doesn’t know specifics. I’ve completely deleted them before. No issues. Honestly on a 5.3 they’re next to useless. That engine is bomb proof. And they were only created because of bad gas. I think nowadays you rarely run into a tank of bad gas straight from the pump.
