for the hydrangea dress, i love when people accessorize with fake flowers that match the dress~ you posted a bonnet with flowers poking out and i think something like that is great! a little pin/brooch on the chest or a wrist corsage would also be super cute with little fake hydrangeas in it.

Yes! I’m so glad she made a conscious decision to keep that bit in! I feel like niche/smaller creators try not to look as narcissistic as the other mega-clout, flex-culture creators, but in trying to remain humble might cut out genuine moments of positivity and self confidence. I’m so proud of her for such a wholesome snippet 🥰

For Fish, if the buttons on the dress are functional, they could unbutton it half way and wear a solid skirt underneath maybe a matching blue or white :) then add a petti and a belt at the waist! :)

Fish's dress is absolutely lolita, it's from taobao "canned cat" lolita brand and it's babydoll cut, i also own it. I have no idea why it looks so slim on first photo but it might be because it doesn't have petticoat under it and material is pretty thick. I normally wear it as casual: pair of chunky shoes, lose shoes warmers, headbow from the set and fitting bag, small petticoat from A&A under it for some shape and bloomers to peak out. Similar to the shown outfit but less chaotic, i would also recommend taking off those stripes that makes pocket look like a bag if you're wearing bag with it and sticking to one color from the print for accessories: it can be pink, white, blue or even brown. I feel like Lor gave a bit too chaotic of an idea for this simple casual dress ^^;

I never found the name of the brand nor print so thank you! And chaotic is where I THRIVE! I'm usually a lot more extreme than in the photo so I appreciate when people find ways for me to go even more than that. I do guess that being more casual could help it look more lolita tho

@@pleaseignorethisismyoldaccount I love the chaos, I think you should lean into the asymmetry of the dress and wear missmatched socks and arm accessories with it. Also I'm sure theres some strange jewelry out there that would be cute colors and styles but have a weird subject like eyeballs and fish. Lolita is mostly about the shapes and components rather than the colors or themes. You can look like the gjinka of a 2005 sparkle dog deviantart OC and still be lolita so long as you have a petticoat and headpiece.

@@pleaseignorethisismyoldaccount if you're not sure how to coord something start off small and add accessories on ready coord treating it as a base. Also i fell like some overdress would be nice on it, lace one for more classic look or holographic for more chaotic one! I also wear hip bag when i want to create waist, there's a lot of crazy ones on Taobao.

Just my thoughts, you don't have to do any of it. Nelly: I think that dress would look like amazing with white tights with pink roses on them. Bubi: White socks with ruffles might look nice. Trying new hair styles can also add to new coords. Add elegant, small jewelry could also look nice (ex. rings, necklaces, bracelets)

I'm excited to watch! I resent a submission I sent like a year ago (I guess it got lost) around a month ago so I'm excited to see if maybe I got featured! Either way I'm excited! JUST LOOKED IN THE DESCRIPTION, HI IM FISH!! The piece actually is lolita! There is space for a petticoat and I've worn it with one my parents just get mad at me when I do, I can also add a belt, it's just a loose dress ^^ I can remove the strap but not the pocket, that's sewn onto the dress I'm open to any concrit, for lolita or decora 💕 and yes I know I sounded dumb in the email I was just a bit nervous *Once again, my fashion has evolved and I wear a lot more accessories nowadays And I am a lolita with other proper dresses I just didn't know what to with this one- Edit: should mention that for dysphoria reasons aswell as aesthetic, musical and other personal reasons, I am no longer a lolita (and not rlly a decora either)

I feel like some pins / rosettes would look well with your coord. I think on the bottom peaking bloomers and or bloomers with an underskirt could add some more interest. I think if you pick a theme for the accessories to go for it can go in a lot of different ways like if you used gloves and tights and the bloomers / underskirt had lace details it could bring it all into a more sophisticated sense. BUT! I would probably use a lot of blues to style the piece with since that is already the accent. I dont think this was super helpful but! just wanted to give an opinion :-) ALSO! I feel like creepy cute bags would look good with the dress, like the doll head or the million eyes stuffed animal bags type of deal.

For Nelly, lace bandanas for headpieces/ headscarves are very country!! maybe get a little brown vest to throw ontop of the dress if you wanna mix in more brown. For hairstyles, double braids, or milk maid braids would be so cute!

What I would love to see more in Lolita would be more veils. There are already a coords with veils but I feel it's mostly gothic ? I would love to see more classic and sweet veils

I think we need to expand the Lolita vocabulary. I get that Lor is trying to be inclusive of people who are new to Lolita and to people who are experimenting and trying out new things while also being respectful of the current community and the guidelines that already exist. We need more terms for those that try to wear Lolita but not in the “orthodox” way, maybe expand the “casual lolita” definition, for those who have the aesthetic right but not the silhouette, etc.

from certain angles, one of the bows on lor's headpiece looks like a blush pink elf ear and i'm living for it also regarding the first coord, i often find the most inspiration from my local comm !! we have a discord server where everyone will share their coord photos, and nothing has given me more ideas than that. if you're not in your local comm already, join it!

My most scary thing is actually what you did in this video! Wearing a dress with stuff over it as a blouse instead of under it. I have tons of cardigans and wraps and floofy things like the blouse you have here, and I've always been too scared to be yelled at for not wearing a "real blouse" to go there. I feel like if it is covered and balanced it is fine but a LOT of people call that not lolita and I'm too afraid of running into one to do it.

Not a Loita, but I have watched your videos long enough to enjoy and appreciate the Aesthetics of it. I was considering to try to play up some “Victorian”/“Loita” into my personal style without it being purely that. I’m into mixing and matching Eras (60s bell bottom jeans with a more “Victorian/70s” blouse, or using that blouse to drape over my t-shirts with jeans, or even adding in 1920s with my Newsboy hat or Fedora. And some “peasant” blouses) After seeing Fish however, I may consider asking in the future as I recently got a bunch of my Great Grandmother’s blouses from when she was alive that I want to start adding into my style and would probably look good pushing the “Loita” vibe as some are actually shearer than others, but have real pretty patterns. I also have a few dresses while not Loita may help if I’m feeling like going heavier on the Loita inspiration and one “cowgirl” skirt that can probably floof into a cupcake shape if given a proper petty coat (as I call it personally).

for bupi (i know im a million years late), i know this is v v experimental and could mess everything up, but i feel like a white, lace floral long sleeved turtle neck could create a very elegant look but in a different way? from there, i would do a white rectangle headband/headpiece, or even a really OTT white & light blue bonnet, with some plain light blue tights or ofc ruffled ankle socks, and i'd do either blue tea party shoes (think like bodyline's light sax scalloped shoes) or some white tea parties, depending on which sock/tight option is used in the coord. i dont wear lolita actively yet bc i cant afford any pieces- but i do try to visualize coords n i think that would look rly nice!!

Hi Nelly! I love where you are going with this, and you can totally get kuma kumya to be a part of your coord. I also agree with you that perhaps some brown shoes will do well (matching up with your socks, of wich i love, and kuma kumya). The hat you are expecting seems to be very pink, and I dont rly see any matching that pink HOWEVER I see that one of the bows there are detachable? maybe you can give that bow to kuma kumya so you match each other? but the pink alone feels too heavy for your current cord so i would love for you to add more matching pink, like maybe some white socks with roses? but again respecting that you dont really wish to incopparete more pink. Maybe have some braided pigtails, with bows tied in in brown or ivory? maybe add a simple bracelet because your hands look kind of empty. if you are sticking with the one braid to the side, then maybe a bracelet on the other hand to play with asymmatry. I know one should not comment on aids, but your glasses is nailing it and if you have any bracelet, rings or anything that sort of matches them then that is just an exellent bonus (I use to tie matching ribbons to my cane). I am excited to see more country and/or classic lolita!

To the last one,, idk how much space the dress leaves for a petticoat but if u use one and the get a apron to (sorry idk the word) in ur waist. So u could maybe get a more lolita like silhouette. Maybe a transparent(?) Apron were u can put cute things in would be something for u! I think the taobao brand C C Cat has some cute ones💗

Something I'm a little afraid to do in lolita: my mainstream style is kind of like soft grunge (I used to call it "sparkle grunge" before I knew soft grunge was a thing) and I'd like to wear some punky/grungey accessories with my lolita dresses. I'm pretty new to lolita though, so I think it would be wise to get more experience making regular coords before I start pushing the boundaries of "what is lolita".

Nelly- I think mixing in some dustier olives and sage greens would be really nice with that dress. Maybe creams socks with a green print design or a light green blouse. Just stay away from cooler tone/blue tone greens.

abt things that i wanna try w/ lolita but am too afraid to: i personally absolutely love the contrast of macabre n creepy w/ cute things (like morute but idk a lolita substyle for that), so one think that i'd absolutely love to do one day is do my makeup all creepy looking (think jazmin bean n izzzyzzz's creepy makeup looks) but idk if that would b received well by the community bcuz it might look too costume-y?? lol

There's actually a lolita substyle called gurololita. It incorporates creepy & gore elements in lolita. (Warning, if you search for it there'll be fake blood) You certainly can stay more on the creepy side rather than the gore side if you wish

There’s a certain sweet lolita skirt from Bodyline, that I wanna wear, but I have nothing to really wear it with. Got the idea lately to wear it over a certain white lolita dress I have and then wear a blouse underneath the dress. Like the skirt of the dress could function as a petticoat and the top would make the blouse look more fancier. However Idk why, but I always felt like it’s a huge no-no. Like Lolitas gonna chase me with fire and pitchforks. Okay that last sentence is only a joke, but I hope you get what I mean. 😅

This comment may be controversial, as I've asked this question in BSoLF and the general consensus was pretty unhappy, but I don't think Polo shirts are ita. I wore a bodyline JSK (squirrel party in dark grey) with a white polo under it and some plain white OTKs. I know polos don't have the typical poofy sleeves or rounded peter pan collar, but I still felt super cute. I really hate how in lolita there are so many rules you MUST follow when they seem so low stakes. Polo shirts remind me of cute uniforms. I've considered throwing in some cute lace to beef it up and not make it so plain, as that's the issue for me. I know it may be weird to say as a lolita who is just now starting out, but f*ck the rules! I'm too punk rock for that! >:)
