UPDATE: Using a natural salt tile (vs coal) will improve efficiency by transferring less heat to bulk of the p-water.

I wanted to see what would happen if I dropped my algea into the magma at the bottom. Got a ton of sand blocks stacked which basically overwritten a bunch of tiles and shot a straight line into space.

I'm thinking that a second airflow tile above the first would make it feel less of an exploit as it would just be steam rising. Time to go test.

That's kinda cool, but in practice it think it's objectly worst than just boiling the polluted water into a steam room to be absorbed by a steam turbine. The steam turbine produces a bit of power and puts the water into a pipe without needing to power a pump.

Fun concept but it does not seem to have any practical usage. It can't be used to refine crude oil because petroleum transition to gaseous form is irreversible. And you normally want hot polluted water and cold pure water, not otherwise)

Any failure states beyond the heating source and the cooling source? Such as, say, running out of P-water and getting gas other than steam in the airflow tile?

Can add a hydro sensor to check if p-water pool is low or too warm and hold the door open to stop flash boiling. Vacuum-out the room with airflow tile.

I've seen some other builds using that airflow tile teleportation. Way to exploitey for me. If some design relies completely on an exploit and will not work if that exploit is fixed it is a bit too much for me.

Neat design but if you want to boil all the polluted water, you're gonna end up heating all of it to the boiling point anyways right?

A natural salt tile (or coal) has poor heat conductivity and will heat bulk water very slowly. As long as more polluted water is added, the bulk of water won't boil.

@@greezyhammer764 Yeah but my point is that it shouldn't actually save heat energy to boil the water that way. To boil a full tile of 1000Kg, you still have to heat 1000Kg of water to the boiling point. I guess it's good if you want to keep the polluted water tank cool.
