I miss the late 90s early 2000s era: Floetry, Lauryn Hill, Musiq, India Arie, Jill Scott, Amel Laurieux, Macy Gray, Angie Stone, Erykah Badu, Goapele, D'Angelo, Maxwell, Raphael Saddiq, Slum Village, Lucy Pearl♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
+Eissac O your sad ? I was born in 2000 so I didn't even get a taste, but it does make your appreciation for it greater . I just wish everyone else in my generation will realize what's good music from whats trash .
The women of Floetry......Marsha Ambrosius & Natalie Stewart........created pure MAGIC together in the recording studio, and on stage. They shared a unique, special chemistry that set them apart from their peers on several levels. Although both women are brilliant individual artists......that SPECIAL MUSICAL CHEMISTRY has not been repeated since their separation. Floetry is a classic example of 2 being better than 1.
Its amazing how 12 years ago when this record dropped that if you look at videos from back then they were filled with so much life, and color, and most of all love. We are truly living in the dark ages. Be blessed everyone.
The energy of Floetry is very inspirational. Having a floacist with a sultry and poetic voice that traveled down your spine and a songtress with a uniquely odd voice was a great combo. "That's what's up!"
2002, 18 years old, senior year of high school, responsibilities weren't completely out of control, had my health, and a lot of my family, and old friends were still around. Can I have it back... pretty please? :(
Don't nothin beat those sexy slow jams from the 90's & early 2000's. 💯 They had hella baby makers and panty droppers back then, black love at its finest back then. 💯 I'm glad I grew up in that era back then. 💯 It was live. 💯
I had the pleasure of seeing them on 4/20 here in Philly, and meeting them after the show. and they've only gotten better. So down to earth, talented musicians and Marsha sounds even better live...I'm so thankful to GOD that i grew up in this era and was exposed to this real good, feel good music...
This the type music I get high to. Picture this Floetry, Lalah Hathaway, Angie Stone, Eryka Badu, Jill Scot, India Arie , and Ledisi collaborate and make a CD
I am from the island of Barbados but this song brings back memories of when I used to visit West and South Philly summer time in 1999 late early 2000s as a teenager. Great era for R&B/soul music. Big up Philly (Gallery Mall, 69th Steet) NJ, my seccond homes. #memories
Just might be the single most underrated group and song in R&B history. These girls don't play! I mean it's 2017 and 50 years from now this shit will still be a banger.
Wasn't a good year for me at all. It was the start of my depression period.......I still caught these videos, but didn't enjoy them as much as I should have back when they were fresh.
This song makes me so happy and sad at the same time! I don’t recall the first time I heard this song as a young girl but I was and still is obsessed🙌🏽. Wish I could back, no stress and worries dancing to Floetry💃🏽
I can appreciate all the comments posted. Due to the many life distractions I have not really listened to Floetry until recently. I must say I am blown away by their creativity and golden voices. Now, I grew up on Motown and I can and do appreciate Floetry. Great music is great music no matter what era of time.
I'm a big rap and Tupac West Coast NWA fan but that's been in my mind for the last 2 months and I finally found this song this is a hit classic real music.
I was going into the 8th grade when this record dropped. I’m beyond blessed and grateful I got to experience the early 2000’s during my childhood. I notice when watching videos like these that there was still a innocence left within world and once the 2010’s hit all of that seem to have went away. Beautiful simpler times though.
Yes, memories of enjoying this song when it debuted, I was age 17 going on 18 in 2002. Also I remember seeing Floetry in concert in Louisville, KY in 2002 when they were upcoming. ☺ I still enjoy it today!
I remember watching this a couple of times on MTV back in 2003. It was a tune of a song I loved then I forgot the lyrics and then the song came into my head at times but didn’t know how to spell the name of the band and song although it started with Flo. 19 years later I found the song recommended on YT and then was happy to hear the song after such a long time, so glad I can listen to this when I want. Songs like this don’t exist in the 2020s but glad that memories stay on YT
