What size opening did you leave for your dahlias? I’d like to use landscape fabric for next year. Thanks

Hey, I was wondering what spacing you're doing your artichokes on and how they're coming along? Had always thought they need to be quite far apart due to the leaves being so big, but wondering it having them closer would mean they actually grow taller stems, maybe smaller chokes that are better for floristry? Thanks!

The dogs just about give me a heart attack everytime they run through your flowers 🤣 Do you lose a lot of plants to the playful pups? My dog seems to break a stem everytime he even gets close to my flowers. 🤷‍♀️🐶💕

Haha well I was looking after a couple of my friends dogs on this day and they tend to run over the beds a bit more than my own dogs do 😂 they do break them sometimes when they’re small but it’s usually only minor damage 😁

This is a really great video thanks for sharing! I'm a newbie grower, currently prepping an area for my first season next year. I hope you don't mind but I have a few questions I'd love your advise on. Do you plan on leaving you perennials in situ or do you ever dig them up over winter for example? Also I'm struggling to get my head around successional planting and how to plan for it, do I need to leave space in my beds for future plants or do you wait for a bed to go over (or hopefully fully picked and sold) before planting in it again? Thanks Adele x

Hi Adele, I will leave the perennials in place, but once they get large enough to divide again then I’ll do that. With successional sowing I plan my beds in advance so I will know that once something has finished I can pull it up and replant straight away.. e.g i will plant spring sown annuals or dahlias after tulips or I will plant biennials after short lived spring sown annuals e.g cornflowers

Where did you get your landscape cloth? And how did you prepare the soil underneath? Did you till the whole field?
@bloomandgray

I buy it from eBay or the local horticulture supplier. Yes I did till it all, of you watch the video ‘how to create a flower farm from scratch’ you’ll see what I did to prepare the field
