You can measure 4-20mA (with the test leads only) but you cannot source. You can use a i400 with the 1587 FC to measure higher currents AC up to 400 amps

Yes. But one tricky thing about the clamp accessories you have to know what there output is. Some are mV and some mA. In the case of the i400 it outputs 1 mA/A measured by clamp. So you need to make sure the 1587 FC is turned to mA and you need to make sure the clamp is plugged into the mA jacks. If you still have problems I would check 2 other things: -make sure your fuse is not blown -make sure you are on AC current (i400 only measures AC current not DC)
