Fluval Edge LED mod upgrade 

Thanks for the nice compliment! I'm really pleased with the LED mod also. Yes the 12 gallon tanks is twice as tall, so it has twice the space between the lights and the bottom of the tank which allows the light to spread out better, but it is still not lit as well as it could be. I've been thinking of getting myself a 12 gallon version too. All my plants are doing really well, I have to keep trimming them down every so often and they keep producing new sprouts.

Thanks for the compliment. I don't know the watts per gallon, but the spectrum of the light is important too. You could use low, medium light plant for sure and some higher demanding plants depending on placement. I've added some new plants sense this video and they are all doing great. I trim them back as needed about once a month. Good luck with your aquarium!

I have just recently bought a second aquarium which is the Fluval Edge 23L (6 Gal) Gloss White with Day (clear) & Night (Blue) LED lighting. It's beautiful only been set up 3 days not put any fish in it yet! Going to wait for it to so it's full cycle. I've been looking at a lot of setups but I love yours and I've noted down all the fish you have in there thanks for the idea I'm going to have the same fish, but I have a broken ship in there with a purple plant :-) thanks love your videos

I never really thought about mounting two. I just wanted to mount one on the front of the tank (centered) and I'm really happy with the results. But, yes you could mount two of them (one on each side) and that would REALL increase the brightness of the aquarium. Probably best for reef tanks or a planted tank that has plants that require lots of light.

I have tried 3 different light systems and this is BY FAR the best one! The small LED strips that you can buy by the roll are not near the quality as this system and not nearly as bright. "Believe me I've tried them first hand" Plus I've found if the lights that you add are kept under the hood then the light gets trapped under it and only brightens the center of the aquarium. This light is the best upgrade for the money. I've seen more expensive ones, that did not work as well.

I am new to planted tanks, all the numbers I find on this tank may as well be Greek, lol. With your additional LED mount, how many watts per gallon are you getting? ... Or does wattage matter at all? Would you still be limited to low light plants, or approaching medium? Yours is the cleanest looking mod I've seen yet.

Yes, this system will work on the 46L Fluval Edge.

I own three of these tanks. Beautiful, sexy, eye catching. All of that. Would not like to be a Betta living in this environment, very difficult to set up and maintain because of the 6 7/8" x 4 7/8" opening. Lighting is inadequate for most live plants. I guess this is my confession, more of a piece of artwork, than a friendly environment. Great opportunity for modifiers.

so I had a question I watched your other video when your tank was about 11 to 12 weeks old and I notice you had a different beta fish than you do right now I'm guessing unfortunately your beta might have passed away I just wanted to ask how is your beta still doing I currently have a beta and I was looking into getting this Fluval Edge tank but not sure about putting other fish with my betta

I do not use a protein skimmer, so I'm not sure what would work well with this aquarium.

WHATS UP I GOTTA A NEW FLUVAL EDGE UNIT (21 LEDS) OUTTA THE BOX THE LIGHT DOESNT WORK SENT IT BACK GOT A NEW ONE AFTER ABOUT 5 DAYS LIGHTS STARTED BLINKING AND BLUE LIGHTS DONT WORK ANY THOUGHTS ON THAT? AND IT LOOKS LIKE YOU CANT JUST GET THE LIGHT FIXTURE

Not sure why your stock LED light is not working. Mine worked fine from day one. Maybe try returning it or contacting the manufacture.

I've been trying to find these pink danios and apparently there's no such fish in danios pink, but I've been told they are Glofish? Can you let me know as I really want some But we don't have any Pink danios here only Pink Glofish etc

The back left and right still seem to lack lighting, Perhaps if your design went round the left and right side as well it would be a perfect upgrade.
