My friend Declan and I took a trip from Pensacola International Airport (KPNS, CLASS C) down the beaches of northwest Florida to St. George Island airport on a beautiful spring day. Starting in Pensacola, we passed Gulf Island National Park, Navarre, Fort Walton, Destin, and Panama City Beaches, all the way down to Apalachicola, Port St. Joe, and on St. George Island airport. This area is some of the most complicated airspace in the country, with multiple overlapping class C airspaces, civilian, multiple USN and USAF military bases, and most of the area inside Military Operations Areas (MOA's).
St. George Island airport is a very remote private community airport with the Bay on one end of the runway and the Gulf of Mexico only a stones throw from the south end of the runway. It was visually stunning to fly in and take off over the water in this uniquely picturesque location! The charts did not clearly mention that this airport was privately owned, and was locked with an access controlled gate.
This trip is more inclusive of the details of flying than most of our other videos, and leaves in much of the checklist, airport operations, ground and tower comms, and the taxi way out of Pensacola International Airport (KPNS). It was a beautiful day to fly, and it was Declan's first ride down the beach. The scenery was amazing, and more than the cameras could really capture.
I hope you enjoy. Please leave your some comments!

Thanks for the nice comment. I lived in Milton, Fl... graduated from Milton High School, and met my wife at UWF. Small world, great area, although we live in Nashville these days. Both of my sisters, and my mom lives in Milton, and we visit often, hence the actual reason for me being there for this video. : )

Hi from the UK. Cool video as always . You always seem to get beautiful weather. The weather the last five months here in the UK have been awful for flying. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the nice comment. Sad about the weather there... I watch the channel Short Field and he says the same thing. Have you been flying your S4 any, despite the weather?

@@lightsportpilotadventures Hi there. Bless you. Yes I also watch short field too. I have only flown around 4 times since January due to rain and constant high winds . Your channel inspires me to get out there even more. Over the last two months, As the weather has been windy and wet, I decided to build a Tug for my plane to move it on wet grass . I took out a patent on it this week. :). You may like imy little Tug. Check out my video link below. Warm regards Roger. And thank for the reply. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RxCSF7UBREI.htmlsi=V5ZzSd1vIpiOJdxN

I loved your tug! I saw the video, you and your brother are pretty ingenious! Very cool. Where I live, there are no hangars available, I wish i had a hanger like yours. Looking forward to some flying videos!

The airport is actually public use (probably because they accepted FAA funding in the near past). However, you have to receive HOA permission to leave the airport grounds/boundary. Beautiful area but nothing to do once you get there! Apalachicola airport, just to the north, would have provided ample lunch opportunities. Awesome video BTW!
