I sang this to a little girl I babysit when she got hurt, she stopped crying almost immediately! She asks me to sing this almost every time I see her now :) what a sweetheart!
The thing is, I'm 16 but I still love this song shamelessly. Because I am God's child and never had a proper childhood or bond with my parents and I still have that part of me that wants to be a little girl... "A world far off where we only cry from joy" :') don't we all want that?

This Song Is The Saddest- Yet The Most Hopeful I've Heard In Forever. I Think Its Talking About This Little Girl, Who's Parents fight A lot. Since it go's "No-one Cries, Screams, or shouts." And She's basically creating herself a world where her life is better. Over All I Love It Though.
My brother told me that when he was a teenager this was one of his favorite songs and it reminded him of me. He's 9 years older than me and our mom was abusive, I was just a little kid and I didn't have to really deal with our mom but he was the oldest so he got it the hardest and she took everything out on him. But I was pure, she hadn't ruined me yet.
It's actually "You didn't come this far just to be plundered here/*Towers of refuge*, your strength/Sleep in..." This song is beautiful. Even though it's to a girl, it definitely can apply to a boy. The female parts would just have to be changed (like princess, dress, etc.). The middle part really speaks to me since I've never been told any of those things. I want this played at my funeral even if I die old. Because, as weird as this sounds, it reminds me of when I was little and when I wished I was a princess and all of that kind of stuff little girls do. It's so innocent. Oddly enough, this song makes me happy. :)

I've been trying to figure this out too. I don't think it's a different song. It fades out at the end, so I assumed it was a different song, but the lyrics make sense with the lyrics throughout this song, and I couldn't find another song anywhere with those lyrics.

This gives support to women, but I wonder why this kind of support is supposedly not needed for guys, like they're strong enough, they don't need emotional support like this.. And then we always assume the girl IS weak and needs this help... Wrong assumptions, I wish we could all accept the fact that we ALL need help sooner or later like this song displays.. It's been a while since I had the booklet that goes with this CD, but in it are journal entries that detail the meanings behind each song. A lot of songs off this abum (Memento Mori) have either a biblical feel/reference (Chasm, Swept Away, In the Dark, Circle) or are referencing Lacey herself (this song possibly or someone close to her, Treasure). A lot of Flyleaf's other songs are gender-neutral and I can think of one song specifically (Supernatural) that is directed at guys as well. I don't think they're only trying to support girls, and of course it does depend on your own beliefs (I tend to interpret a lot of their songs as religious because of certain references used) but I believe this is more talking about how Heaven is this wondrous place, more than the actual girl in the song. I do agree that in a lot of media and music women are portrayed as needing more help than guys when thats not true, but I dont think thats the case here. :) Just my two cents, I love discussing this stuff.
Quox I believe this song is actually an open commentary she had to a young girl in her family. I'm not quite positive, but I know her character doesn't entail giving support to women above men.
Who says I'm atheist? I came here to listen to a song by one of my favorite bands. I ended up pointing out that most comments of most Flyleaf videos are about Christianity, even when the songs don't have much to do with it. Agreed, this one is pretty Jesusy. But some people don't think of it that way. It might just be about a girl doing what ever the hell she's doing. I mean, people interpret music based on themselves. Odds are, mainly Christians would pick up on the Christian-ness in a song.

The Meaning to this song is even if you aren't born in riches, every girl/boy is a princess/prince as we are his children , cause of our salvation here on earth we will be crowned above and though we might feel dirty and worn out from the outside, to God we are shinning ever pure and white as snow ..In Short whatever circumstances we are been put through,just know that the reward of a blessed heart is beyond imagination .. stay blessed
This song has always been so soothing and uplifting to me, I think it was the first thing that made me think I might be trans. Definitely my favorite song Flyleaf song.

this song really reminds me of my little sister cuz she's little and so she is still an angel sent from god to us and i know i have done terrible things and i regret them and its too late for me to go to heaven but its not late for her :,) cuz to me she is a beautiful, heart of gold princess =)

because this is a christian band, and though yes, maybe not all of her songs are purely about Christianity (most are), but as Christians our "Job" is to witness to others, and if i see something that i disagree with i will say something, for you to come here and tell me that i need to stop talking about my God severely offends me, especially when there are so many other videos you could be watching that have nothing to do with Christianity.

It's never to late to go to heaven. If you repent and live the rest of your life loving the Lord you will always have free passage to heaven. Sorry if I got a little to religious there for comfort, but that is just what I believe.
