found this version of so i thought and listened to it and discovered its completely different from the regular one its longer and it doesn't have a guitar solo but it has a bass solo
This is the only version I knew of in my childhood and fell in love with. 15 years later and I remember the song again but when I listen to it on spotify something sounds completely wrong. Do I really remember it to be better than it actually is? Some kind of nostalgic romanticism. But I refuse to believe it. So I dig deeper and here I am. The only version that should have existed.
I like this version better because this is, I believe, Lacey's journey from her divorce, her downward spiral and her found salvation. I like the way that it isn't explicit in saying God saved her and there are a lot of things between the lines that makes this Christian song human and relatable. My childhood changed because of this song.
This song, no matter how different from the album version, is always going to be the closest to my heart. I may like other songs more at times, but this one cuts the deepest and heals the worst pains. I remember 2010 the Norva in Norfolk va I got to see them live. This song came on and I shoved straight to the stage and got amazing shots of the performance. I'll cherish that moment until the day emotions mean nothing more to me...
interesting take on the song we know from self titled album but i must say i prefer the one on the cd. don't get me wrong this is still great but the album cut just slugs you in the gut with the "chorus romance" line which this is lacking. flyleaf rules.
Six years late to the party but I was about to say this. The bass solo is definitely top, but the entire "Chorus Romance" section is my favorite chorus couplet period. Flyleaf, we miss you from 2018
Where was this song originally released? Un unreleased Passerby EP? I thought I had ALL their music, even Life and Ocean Waves and all that stuff not a ton of people knew about, but I guess not. I do prefer the huge, swelling haromy in the other version but Lacey's voice is a little more ethereal sounding here so not a bad version at all
