Follicular Lymphoma - Indolent B-Cell Lymphoma - Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma - Hematology
Hematological malignancies can be divided into leukemias, lymphomas, and multiple myeloma.
Lymphomas can be divided into Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma can be subdivided into aggressive lymphoma and indolent lymphoma.
Aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma includes:
*Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL)
*Burkitt's lymphoma.
*Mantle cell lymphoma.
*Precursor T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma.
*B-lymphoblastic lymphoma.
Indolent non-Hodgkin's lymphomas include:
*Follicular lymphoma
*Marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (MALToma)
*Hairy cell leukemia/ lymphoma.
*Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia.

I got, surprisingly, follicular lymphoma at age 10. Now 32. No treatment. Lymph nodes have shrunk on their own. No idea about how long I will live. Life is pretty normal. So far so good

t(14,18) does not imply over expression of bcl2. t(14,18) simply means bcl2 is disregulated. Additional mutations on top of 14,18 push it toward over expression. That's why 14,18 alone in general is necessary but not sufficient to cause FL.

I have NHFL 3B, It's agressive, and rare because I'm not even 45, but it hasn't started to form tumors or metastasized. R-CHOP is my therapy. I'm hoping to put it down (The Cancer), and into a remission.

Rituxamab = TUX = 2 x 10= 20 I made up that very same mnemonic 18 years ago when I was in medical school.

What is scary too is i made up your same mnemonic on cd 15 x 2 (2 eyes of reed Sternberg for Hodgkins) = cd 30 about 17-18 years ago as well. I had hundreds of mnemonics i kept. I used to do picture collages just like sketchy micro and they are very very similar to mine. I teach boards to a med school with plenty of mnemonics and i actually recommended your channel to my students. I listen to many channels and many of their mnemonics are weak (some good some bad) Yours are excellent. And btw, you and i are both from the middle east area.

Well, I'm 18 and i have this, asymptomatic. I know this is not the place but since i don't seem to get a clear answer from "the place" does anyone know if i have a substantial chance of living to my 70s maybe? I'm kinda going through a tough time and this cancer isn't even top 3 of my concerns. I really want to know if all the struggle i'm going through is worth only about 5 or 6 years or do i still have a chance to live a long life if i keep fighting.

I had a lymph node biopsy recently and the bcl-2 marker came back positive however it says that it only marked the extrafollicular region. Since the germinal center wasn’t marked, should I still be concerned or is this normal?

What is negative bcl2 in low grade follicular lymphoma implied?

BCL2 negative usually comes with low stage and high grade (grade3) and have high cure rate following localized therapy, and in general associated with children more than adults

I follicular lymphoma it almost killed me I was I was 26 then in 2018 came back as diffuse large b cell lymphoma and it almost killed me too

@@NickELitO100 with currently available drugs it’s more than 20 years. However with the latest drugs that will be coming to market within the next year or two , researchers are predicting that a certain percentage may get cured. It may only be a small percentage but the implication is huge since FL has always been considered incurable. One of these drugs is called Odronextamab.
