Since implementing food combining to my eating I have noticed a MAYOR difference in my digestion. I feel better and lighter. This was so helpful!( I too follow an 80/20 )
So so helpful! My digestion has been horrible for years despite eating GF/DF/Paleo. This provides much insight and we owe it all to our little gut bacteria and enzymes, so thank you thank you for making this "digestible".
Thanks for the clarity! You’ve definitely helped me figure out food combining. You’ve recently mentioned that intermittent fasting is a great way to lose weight. I was wondering if you could do a video about intermittent fasting while food combining. What’s a good window, how much you eat during that window and what you drink before it as far as caffeine (because I know you’ve mentioned it’s acidic and not good on an empty stomach in the AM) xx
John 11:25-26 KJV Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: [26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, 1 John 3:8 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Isaiah 9:6 KJV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT.
Thank you sooososooso much Mona, I was suffering from indigestion as well as bloating and I couldn't pinpoint it especially since I am already on a plant-based diet. After watching your series though, I don't really have as much bloating or stomach pains like I used to. Thank you!
Hi Dr Mona. I have had amazing results from following your advice! Just wanted to know 2 things: 1) can you have more than 1 proteins or starches together in a meal? 2) what is the waiting time between snacks and mains - for example does it work if I eat chia seed pudding at 3pm then protein dinner at 6pm?
Very well explained. Thank you. I’m definitely gonna try this out, because my digestion is terrible, and as a result I’ve been suffering with Candida, constipation, insomnia and parasites now for years. I keep reading poor health begins in the gut, so I’m on a mission now to switch things up. Thank you ever so much for sharing.
This was helpful like the first two! But I did get a little confused and had to re watch this video a few times. Is there any way you can show examples for visual learners? I’m more hands on, so I might have to just jump in and practice with examples you give to understand. I’m excited, and look forward to seeing more food combination videos. I grew up eating everything wrong, while being told it’s healthy. My boyfriend is enjoying watching me go crazy over switching out bad combinations for healthier ones, and last night at work, for the first time in yearssss, I counted the clock after eating certain foods before I can eat my fruit so it all digests well. Thanks to you Mona Joon, I’m learning and my future kids won’t have to learn the hard way.
LOVE IT! Super glad you started these food combining videos, they have SERIOUSLY helped me. PLEASE keep more coming! also, you are SO great at explaining and breaking down everything so nicely. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Just being introduced to food combining by you, this helped clarify a little better but I still have lots to learn with it! Lol. Love that you post on IG what you eat weekly, thank you! 😘 You have such a gorgeous glow!!
Can you do an updated / detailed food combining video?! I’m still lost on where cashew milk can fall into my day - can I have it with my protein powder?🤷🏻♀️
Just started the food combining lifestyle, thank you!!! I took notes and the ways you explained and highlighted the important info was logical and in real time so thank you so much!!! :)
Love this! Question: I heard that o e shouldn't combine raw veggies with cooked ones, and yet so many people eat a raw salad with every lunch and dinner along with cooked beans or meat or fish. Also, heard that certain veggies like cabbage actually bind to calcium and remove too much calcium. Also, is yogurt OK to eat in the morning about 30 minutes after the fruit? Thank you!
I’m trying to get this concept down and this was helpful. I’m Type 2 diabetic on oral meds not insulin. I’ve always heard that every time you eat your body releases insulin and I’m insulin resistant so I typically eat 3 meals a day. My lunch is early - 11am during workdays and then I go till maybe 6-7 at night before dinner. Obviously I’m starving so I may need to at least add in 1 afternoon snack. The 2 breakfasts I’m not sure would work for me with lunch being so early. Thanks for the video!
This was very helpful, I had my gallbladder removed many years ago & digestion was not fun for awhile until I started simplifying my meals. Something I eat a lot of & haven't heard you mention are tomatoes...would you combine with starches or protein?
Unfortunately quinoa is SO tasteless and since we can’t mix tomato sauce on starchy carbs, how do you flavor it? Also to clarify if you have regular wheat pasta it will digest for 4-5 hrs unlike rice or quinoa. I prefer buckwheat because it has very full bodied yummy toasty flavor, and it goes great w butter.
As an Indian we have always been eating Dal chawal Chole chawal curry chawal and rotis together so please give a detailed break up about which food goes into which category for a better understanding and division most of the nuts lentils legumes beans have starches and proteins so it is a little bit confusing. what food to put in what category would be of a great help thank you so much
I love your presentation and I would have liked to have been taught this in my youth. This video has given me a simple explanation of what seemed like a minefield. Many thanks for explaining in layman's terms so your viewers could understand without having to necessarily know all of the scientific explanations. Thank you Dr Mona.
Thank you, Dr. Vand! I 💞your videos! You are very clear, and your easy to follow steps and suggestions are super! I wasn't sure i could follow this but i basically HAVE TO, for my own good. Your video's have actually opened my eyes to the possibilities. Thank you and thanks for recipes too! Maybe you can show us how to cook some of the grains, that would be helpful and enjoyable. Thank you again so much!!! Keep them coming!!🥰👏👍
Thank you for the recommendations. Being Vegan, and following a plant based diet is the best, however I don’t think I have been doing very good at food combining. 🙏🏻🌱😌
This is so interesting and it makes me curious to understand why Keto is so popular. Since protein + Fats wouldnt exactly go well together for digestion but its being advertised to eat more fats and protein!
@@whotookjimirocket its not realistic to eat especially when working, other things. Take the good & bad and find whats best for your lifestyle. Besides anything is better than processed
@@hkmamacmd428 i'd rather eat while working than work and not eat. sometimes the demands of the job prevent me from taking a break - though i always take breathers here n there. which is when i munch real quick - the hardest shift i ever worked was 16 hours of dishes at a pizza place with only breathers here n there because i didnt wanna fall behind. some people probably work those hours regularly - my heart goes out to them
Hello! After I finished my cancer's treatments I started to improve the way I eat and I have one question: How do you combine olives, cheese, cream, butter and kefir's milk? I don't drink milk at all, but I drink kéfir daily. ( I do it by my own). I would like to learn how to combine this ingredients. Thanks a lot. :)
Interesting about the chia seed and walnut comments because I know they are considered a high fat food though they do have some protein. My Dr listed these in the "neutral" column which is the same column as non starchy veggies. So I have been eating them with my buckwheat at breakfast or as a snack during the day.
Hi Dr Mona. How does milk (dairy) categorize? Dont doctors ask to combine fruits and nuts as a snack to not spike blood sugar? How do we intermittently fast and food combine? Almond flour cake where can that come in the day? Can xylithol be a good sweetner? Popcorns are they a good snack, where would that go in the day and how do they combine?
This is super late, but I am just learning about food combining and came across your channel. It has been so helpful!! I have a few questions, what would be best with eggs (omelette/scrambled)? Or tuna? I know protein does not mix with starches so I could not do pasta or bread. So, just veggies? ALSO, since zucchini noodles are technically a vegetable could I mix that with a protein? Like chicken?
Thank you Dr. Mona I'm going back on this it's best for my digestion. I read in the Fit for Life book even though rice and beans are both starchy they can be combined, do you ever combine them?
I’m trying to incorporate this into my routine and wondering where dairy fits in. Very interested in the best times what to pare for optimal benefits! I’m guessing dairy fits in with protein??
This was really helpful However I wonder how to incorporate it in an indian diet We have dal rice n roti with veggie curries or chicken/fish/goat curries Also place that I come from curries have a coconut base How would you approach that Would love to get some advice
Had similar concerns, part Sri Lankan here. I think coconut is considered a fat (or a nut) and I think a veggie curry with rice should be fine for lunch. For dinner tho I suppose you could use the protein rich curries with a besan/ chickpea flour roti (since chickpeas do have higher amount of protein than other flours?).
Ketaki Haldipurkar she uses oats has a starch ...so l have made oats roti so have it with veggies/ sabji. Cauliflower roti with eggs in it can be eaten with lentil/ daals. I have tried both roti ...they taste good. But she doesn't eat eggs, and likes to eat veggies that are not completely cooked. I hope l was able to help.
I have a smoothie with plant based protein power for breakfast. Is that okay although it’s protein in the morning? I also have some form of plant based protein for lunch… I really want to do food combining right but I definitely need protein at every meal or I am starving! Love all your content BTW! ♥️💕🌸
First of all, if you’re not in your 20s, snacking is a bad idea bc it's hard to digest everything until the next meal and it will mix with other ingredients. I have digestive pb and for me just 2 - 3 meal, without snacking is the best. And dinner before 5 or 6. No refined carbs, sweets or oils.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge about food! I always ate and thought “ugh, food hates me” cause I felt bad afterwards! I’m so glad I found your videos cause now I know why. You are so knowledgeable you should open a cute little restaurant or cafe called “Proper Pairings”. :) …just an idea that crossed my mind while I was watching earlier today while working and came back to comment. :)
As a body sculptor/builder I eat celery and nut butter "peanut, cashew, sunflower" and boiled eggs for in between snacks would you suggest something better?
I've noticed if I don't overeat, no matter what it is, I'll have fewer digestive problems. Portion control helps digestion. What about coffee, sugar and other condiments?
Hi! Thanks for these useful informations:) I'm in the process of finding my balance in my vegan gluten free diet and I can feel that this video is going to help me a lot. I'm also doing intermittent fasting because I've tried it before and it was absolutely amazing! Do you have any suggestion about food combining while intermittent fasting? Thanks
Question! How do you fit in dessert? What's a good dessert to have after dinner that is properly food combined? What about some dark chocolate after lunch?
Hello, I am vegan and would make a protein smoothie with avocado, papaya and tsps of each: Flaxseed, chia seed, amaranth, pumpkin seed, hemp seed, sesame seed, maca, turmeric, spirulina and cocoa powder. Is that a wrong combination? If yes, then how can I combine nuts and seeds in my smoothie? Recipe?
Are u allowed salad dressing with veggies? In the example for dinner, you displayed greens with nuts. Are u allowed to sauce that up? Thanks! Love ur videos
Hi Dr. Mona! Thank you for your Food Combining videos. They are so informative. You mentioned that fruits should only be consumed in the morning. I love fruits a lot and I'm into juicing them (melons, pineapple, or whatever is in season here in the Philippines). My question is, can I still not take my fruit juice in between meals? Some says the juicing process spares our stomach from digesting them.
super helpful video! I am just starting to learn about food combining and can definitely see some great results... however I have a question concerning proteins. I go to the gym in the morning, and like to refuel with good sources of carbs and protein... do you think using a protein powder is any better than a solid form of protein? Would a powdered protein have a different digestive time/ have an easier time digesting when combined with a starch?
Hi Dr. Mona new subscriber and enjoying your videos. Could you tell me why we need to eat protein at the latter part of the day (dinner) when you mention it takes longer for protein to digest? I would think we would want easier to digest or quicker digesting foods at night? If food is hard to digest can’t it disrupt sleep etc... also I think you also said fruit isn’t a great snack away from mornings? Could you explain why? I love my afternoon Apple. Would that make pairing Apple and pb a bad combo? Sorry lots of questions 😀
What do you eat if you work out right when you wake up? I rotate from kickboxing to resistance training monday through saturday. I wake up at about 615 and work out at 7. I normally do half a protein shake before hand.
Great video found it helpful to break the meals down in a practical way I would love more videos on food combining other videos I have watched have seemed very confusing I would like a meal plan for the week as an example also how long a gap should you allow between meals and snacks especially for example having starchy lunch how long before I can have a protein snack?
Thank you so much for this video! This is super interesting. I have been doing food combining for about 2 weeks now and I can honestly see such a big difference in my gut health. I just have a quick question, I have noticed that when I have a starchy lunch, my blood sugar levels drop and I feel lightheaded during the day. Do you have any tips regarding this?
This was very helpful! Thank youuu! How much time do you give yourself between your breakfast number 1 and breakfast number 2? Also any tips on food combining on the 16:8 intermittent fasting diet? I have an 8 hour window to eat
Also are Rx bars okay to eat? Food combining wide. I sometimes have the blueberry flavored ones. The ingredients are 3 egg whites, 6 almonds, 4 cashews, 2 dates and blueberries
What kind of bread are you eating/recommending in this video? I love your videos, but would like a more detailed description of the products you are using or recommending with a link for each item. Thanks so much for all of the great tips! 💕😊
Thanks so much for this! Very clear and helpful. How do you a break a food or product down to come to the best conclusion on what is what or how a food typically digests, where do you go to learn? For example: young coconut vs the hard white coconut or for ex, pea protein milk, isn't pea or split pea a starch but even here you used it as a protein in the burger. I've tried googling "food in question" + food combining but this hasn't worked very well. Also, when a product has stabilizers in it, like "gums" which many are supposed to be safe (as in easy for your body to detox out?) or things like soy lecithin, that would have soy in it then so it would want to digest as a protein is that correct? Would you do a video and include how those kinds of things effect food combining? Also in your chia seed pudding, you are mixing almond milk with the seeds, correct? Would most coconut milk be an acceptable combo (but there tend to be a lot of fillers in there)? Oat milk would not I imagine I'm just not sure how to tell. Thanks again.
Hey guys...in regards to food combining I find starch + veggies a bit bland and was wondering if starch + veggies + mushrooms would be OK? In short is mushroom grouped as a carb or protein in terms of food combining according to Dr.Mona? Thanks!!
What are your thoughts on probiotic supplements? For example, Seed Synbiotics have become quite popular in the health world and I'm wondering if it's necessary to couple with a probiotic/prebiotic rich diet
I’m 57 and have had breast cancer. I’m 8 years out from chemo and radiation but have a very hard time losing weight. I like to stay active. Would food combining help me to lose weight. I’ve been told - no soy or flax because they mimic estrogen. I try to eat healthy. My downfall is chocolate so I eat dark chocolate to curb the cravings.
