Narnia Prince Caspian Reaction is today's video!
I thought Prince Caspian was an absolutely amazing character! Growing up around so much hate didn't make him behave the same as all the kings that came before him and it was something of beauty to see how he changed the outlook on the Narnians. Join me as I watch Narnia Prince Caspian for the first time!

@@Shadowjedi-kf7pe if I remember right only reason he wound up coming around in the book was because lucy told everyone they had to follow her, the way she was going or else she would go alone because that's the way Aslan wanted them to go and she was going. With or without them. Edmond follows her. The rest more reluctantly, and as they continue to follow her slowly the others are able to once again see Aslan again till Finally peter can see at which time he begs doe forgiveness and admits his arrogance and ignorance in leading them all wrong. At this time does the Peter of old come back because if I remember right they arrive just as the white witch is about to be summoned and save Caspian then. Not fight him in the woods like in the movie. But I read a lot of fan fiction stories so some of that might not be cannon. but I think most if not all of it is from the actual book.

10:13 Interesting fact about the mice! Originally, only normal mice existed in Narnia which is why you don’t see them in the first movie, but Aslan granted the mice to become larger in size and intelligence through the years because their ancestors were the ones who broke the ropes off of Aslan’s body on the stone table.

The really cool thing is, Miraz didn't fully believe that the Pevensies really were the old kings and queens of old. He sorta thought they were just figureheads the Narnians were using to bolster their cause. Then he spoke to Edmund. Then he fought Peter. And he realized, especially in Peter's case, that they should not be this skilled for their apparent age. Peter fights like someone with many more years, and Edmund smoothly negotiates like someone who's done it a hundred times before. Because they ruled over Narnia for almost 2 decades, and despite what their physical bodies and looks say, are not just two children playing at war. So Miraz actually starts to believe that they really are the old kings and queens during his fight with Peter.
@Yugioh420
@Yugioh420 3 года назад
Not to mention within those two decades Peter was commander during the giant wars that Edmond likely participated in. And Edmond already delt with one threat from there south. I cant remember if it was the Talmorins or not. (Plot to horse and his boy) so both used to dealing with there roles in this event.

He was very childish in his demands to be treated as an adult and a royal at that. While he Used to be an adult and a Royal he is no longer either of them especially in his own world. Yet he can't handle this fact. He is just a kid again and while he has ideas that might be worthy of listening to, he isn't the end all be all of decision making anymore. And needs to listen to others who are older wiser and or know the lay of the land better in this time and place then he does. As for Caspian he is a spoiled pampered prince that got thrown in the deep end so to speak and is literally winging it from moment one with no clue what he is doing or how to do it.

Also, think about how hard life would be for the Pevensie siblings after they returned the first time. They went from being kings and queens, fully fledged adults that have seen war and death and ruled a country, to children again. Children treated like children. It's why Peter starts getting in fights, why we see Susan separating herself a bit from her peers. They feel like Other, and they can't talk to anyone about it. It really must have messed with all of them severely.
@Yugioh420
@Yugioh420 3 года назад
It messed with them all I'm sure but the only one it really messed with or at least the one who got the rawest deal was Susan. She was of the age to be married off in Narnia, attending royal balls and entering interested suiters to being a hormonal teenager again, getting a crush on Caspian only to be made to go home and further more told you wont be coming back but your little sister and brother will be. The scene with Lucy on the Bridge of Beruna gives me chills every time. It proves why she deserves the title 'the Valiant', and the fact that she has the deepest and most complete faith in Aslan of all the Kings and Queens of Narnia. Plus, just the way seeing her calmly standing alone at the other end of the bridge, with just a little dagger, freaks out the Talmeranians, like, "All of this behind us, and they save her, alone, to cut of our retreat... who is SHE?" Who IS she? She's the frickin' priestess of Aslan, basically; she doesn't even NEED the dagger because the Great Lion has her back.

When aslam named them with the respective titles after their names: Lucy, The Valiant; Edmund, The Just; Susan, The Gentle and Peter, The Magnificent. You can see that He didn't give them to the Pevensie's because they had those traits, but because they would learn to develop them. It was what they were determined to become!

23:11 It should be noted that Miraze didn’t believe that the Pevensies were the “real” kings and queens of Narnia. He thought they were just a group of kids propped up as figureheads to boost the Narnian morale. It was during his fight with Peter (an experienced 30 year old man in a teenagers body) that he actually started to believe that the Pevensies were the real deal. Of course, Edmund knew this and took advantage of it as he was famously known as the cunning Diplomat of the group.

It actually rather make sense considering Lucy went back into her kid body and she's the youngest. It's make sense that she's "weak" due to that. In the dawn trader, you can see her fighting skill in her rather teenage body.
@melissapeters6370
@melissapeters6370 2 года назад
@@odeliamili7129 I suppose, but I was mostly referring to the prince caspian movie. It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie but I remember that they often treated Lucy like a child. Suppose that her younger body was weak, she would still have muscle memory. Edmund had muscle memory because he beat trumpkin in a sword fight, so it is established that even with 1-2 years without practice they are still able to fight well enough to defeat a decently skilled warrior. But I’ll chalk that up to Edmund being older than Lucy, and having more muscle to handle a sword. Yet I’m sure Lucy could have handled a smaller weapon or a bow quite easily But still in prince caspian, they don’t give Lucy any weapon and escort her off with Susan who has to “protect” her. (This is when she is riding with Susan and caspian has to save Susan too -_-) I’m sure Lucy could use a bow for her protection. And if she had a weapon, her and Susan probably could have very easily handled the trouble. In the first movie it was established (although comically) that Lucy had naturally good accuracy and made the notion that she was naturally good with fighting in the scene where she threw the knife and hit the target. I guess what I’m getting at is they could have introduced much more weapons and fighting into Lucy’s character and in turn be more accurate to the books and still be accurate to reality. I think it would have added depth to her character rather than keeping her as “the eyes that always look for Aslan” and that’s it.

They're both not even planned to be found by Telmarines army, it's why they done it in secrecy and only Susan has the bow. Lucy can bring the weapon, but if she focus on fights then it could slow her search for Aslan too which is honestly the objective goal. That's why she prefer to just run faster.

This is an adaptation I really love because of its tone, while still being faithful to overall plot of the book. But I especially love how the filmmakers took two situations from the book that were proposed but never happened, and made them happen. If I recall correctly, there was talk about invading Miraz's castle and talk about summoning the White Witch, but it was shot down by other characters. So it's cool that this adaptation took a "what if?" approach, and it amped up the stacks ten-fold for the sake of turning a book into a modern film. Some people may hate that, but I enjoyed it.

Prince Caspian is definitely my guilty favourite of the Narnia movies. The movies get less and less like the books and I was a fan of the books first, so I shouldn't love it this much. As a kid I found the battle at the end too long, but I grew to appreciate it. The duel between Mraz and Peter is awesome and I'm especially impressed now, because I didn't realise how movies were made as a kid, but after their helmets come off and it's the actual actors doing a lot of the fighting, that is super impressive and commendable. Thinking about Caspian being a normal kid who finds out magic is real, is almost like a Harry Potter story, it's such a classic fairytale piece to begin with. The birth, Caspian running away (great sequence), it starts off with a bang, epic sequence. The music, the costumes, feel like everything got so much better. The acting is better. Edmund is effing AMAZING, LOVE him. Peter goes through so much, and it's so understandable, I can never blame him. Props to the actor for keeping him sympathetic because he makes some truly awful decisions. But of course, he went from being not just a king but the HIGH king, to being treated like a kid, to being seen as a legendary figure, like a King Arthur of sorts, and having humongous shoes to fill. He has everything to prove. And his rivalry with Caspian, and how they both grow and learn to work together, it's all great and as I recall (been a decade or two), not explored in the books. Lucy also goes through a lot, self-doubt and learning to have faith in herself, which is why Aslan comes back to her. Susan is always my least favourite but she has some bad-ass scenes and I love her taking a stand for Lucy when they're looking for Aslan. There's just a lot of great character beats. I love the attack on the castle (purely a film invention). This film also has the DLF and Reepicheep, two of my favourite side characters in the series. The evil dwarf is played by Warwick Davis, who's basically in everything, including Professor Flitwick in Harry Potter! I don't like the White Witch scene (another film invention I believe), but I love seeing how much Peter is doubting himself, how hard he's finding it to live up to people's unrealistic expectations, and I loooove Edmund in that entire sequence. I even love the sidelined story of Mraz's wife, seeming like she's completely loyal to him, finding out her mistake, and ending with her basically exiling herself because she regrets her life choices, and going to find a better life for her family. The parallels with real history are super fun. The Cair Paravel ruin, Aslan's How, are based on real locations in Ireland. The story of the Telmarines trying to take over Narnia feels very parallel to the Anglo-Norman invasion of Ireland to me.

I guarantee it’s I Am Legend. He said an action movie with a few really sad scenes in it. I can’t think of a different movie that would fit better

I must confess that I prefer the movie to The Prince Caspian Book. In the book there is not so much action, it is more dialogue and planning strategies and plans. Not to mention that Caspian only finds the 4 kings at the end of the book practically.🤷🏽‍♀️

In the book, Miraz wasn't a power-hungry psycho, he was just a bureaucratic king who had turned the country Boring by sending the magic and old rulers into hiding. Caspian was thirteen, thrilled at the idea of letting the "real" King Peter from the ancient stories fight his battles for him, and the bridge battle was two paragraphs. Oh, and the castle raid was complete screenwriter-MUC, as the book basically has the characters hiding in the cave and arguing until the final Peter/Miraz duel.

I like this movie more because it’s a little more mature than the others and a little darker like when peter chopped the guys head off, it was sad though when aslan said peter and Susan wouldn’t be able to come back ever again.

Is it I Am Legend? The secret movie. I wonder 😅. Super glad to see you doing more of my favourites with Narnia, PotC and of course, all the Disney movies. Looking forward to more as always!

Did anyone watch the audio commentary for this movie? When the cast was talking about the White Witch scene there was something in the script that said something along the lines of "two boys, two kings, two failures" and then the actor who played Edmund chimed in and said "AND EDMUND SAVES THE DAY!" 🤣

As a fan of the books (at 52, I still love these books), I was disappointed with this movie... for several reasons. That's not to say that it's a bad movie. I just wish they'd stayed a little more true to the book. The next movie (and the book), is my favorite. I really was looking forward to seeing the rest of the movies after The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, I wish they'd made them.

There's a documentary on Disney plus "knowing the sculptures and modeling from the movies" I think that's the name. An interview is made with whoever made the clothes, sets, objects and everything else for the film. There's an episode of Narnia and they interview the main actors to find out what the recording experience was like and they review the swords and clothes they used in the movies. It's amazing how well maintained everything is
