Ford 2000 Tractor Bleeding The Fuel System. First engine start in several years. Bleeding the fuel lines. Video is Information Only. Not instruction. This is my first time? Bleeding fuel line was a lot of work for battery & Starter. Next time I will use a syringe to fill line with fuel. Wait time to cool starter & battery. Took all day.

Thanks for the video! These types of videos are SO MUCH nicer than trying to figure out what someone's referring to on those tractor blogs whereby they don't often provide pictures of exactly what they're trying to show you. Well I got a 1979 Ford 3600 3cyl Diesel. Starter went bad and the only way to remove it is to disassemble the fuel filter. New starter on the way and so I'm preparing ahead of time by looking up how to bleed the fuel system for when the starter gets delivered.

If you have another tractor or a half ton and some one who knows hand signals you could pull it in high gear and save your battery and starter. But you did everything exactly right so if it ain’t stubborn she’ll start!

Helpful viedo. On older tractors the bleeder valve on the injector pump will help purge the pump.

Nice video. We are still struggling with our Ford 4100 that looks quite similar enginewise to the Ford 2000. At first we only bled at the filter and at the fuel pump. Then the tractor did not start at all. Then we tried to loosen the nuts at the injectors and BOOOM the tractor started. But now our problem is that the tractor starts fine every time - but only runs for about 30 seconds and then goes out. Any suggestions to what is wrong?

All off my lines have been bled but my number 3 (far right) fuel line doesn’t put out any fuel when I crank it (the first two do), any advice? I think the line might be clogged but I don’t know. Edit: I have a Ford 4600 tractor by the way

Bought a old 1969 ford 4000 ,,it will crank and run but shuts off soon after,,wont run at full power,,

Hi Bill, Can you tell me if the valve at the bottom of the tank just has an On/Off position, seems to me that is that case, but the guy I bought my Ford 2000 from said you have to screw it in to close, and back out to open...any help is greatly appreciated.

I can chime in here just to cover more details. I just bought a 1970 Ford 2000 and found out that my fuel valve on the tank is actually one that you pull open and push closed (although it doesn't work). I know others may have a screw style so it might be either. In my case I figured this out when I was never able to twist the valve clockwise and get it to "close" so I messed around some more and pulled on it and it popped out. Then I pushed it back in and it popped back in. So in my case I have a push and pull style shut off.
