I just cut the old purge valve out and used the quick connectors to put a new on in. Didn’t bother with the hose contraption. Had to remove air intake, and the wipers and that whole windshield cover. Took me an hour

Hi. I had the same issue with my car and fixed it a month ago. 4 days later A new problem arises, the connector that goes in the throttle body keeps coming off. Anyone know what could be the cause? Could it be that the purge valve part has a default manufacturing? Or is it the wrong part? I purchased it at auto zone.

Most likely is the lock on the connector of the throttle body is broken, that's why it keeps popping off.

If the code comes back then your evap system, either you still have a small leak somewhere in the system. Or the part that you bought could be defected. Could be bad connection at the connector, broken or damaged pins inside the connector.

Cant give you the exact price but small shops charge less than dealership. Labor rate is around $150 - $200 an hour. Takes about an hour to finish this job.
