Thanks to this video I decided to replace my EGR valve myself after garages quoted silly money. I'm shocked how easy it was, it took me a little over two hours -- half the time the garages said it would take! Saved a few bob too! Thank you very much sir!
This is a great, simple and quick video. Thanks very much. my Mazda 3 1.6 looks the same so will give this a go as its at 200 000km and by doing some homework as to its rough running/smoking sounds like an EGR issue. Thanks again.
Thanks for showing. I removed the wipers and the upper panel, too. Made working much easier as you can see everything then. Unfortunately my egr valve itself was not stuck. But the motor turned a little bit hard and i had some short circuit errors after cleaning. The inner coil was loose and shorted by the constant movement. Needed a new valve. Quite expensive for such a primitive Part. :-(My valve was from Valeo
Hey could You tell me size og orings inside the egr Orange and green because My was damaged. Service don't Have even this part on store couse they said to me That egr in ford You cant desembly.
Hi umm do you know where the MAF sensor i have an 2006 cmax but i cant find it it supposed to be next to the air filter but it is not there been around the internet and i cant find any pictures or videos on where to find it specially on a cmax :(
The Crusader You can see the MAF sensor in the last 10 seconds of this video. it's that tube that is mounted on the left side of the air filter box.On the left of the MAF Sensor is a corrugated rubbe hose that connects to the turbo. The MAF has a connector with four cables.
nice video my ford focus 2009 1.6 diesel was diagnosed with a sticky EGR and the quotes received were around the £430 to £500 . There was also some confusion if a new EGR would require recoding. With regards to your video, as per Nitu Nicolae , how do you open this clip? Can you please confirm of you simply used long nose pliers to remove this clip from the hose going to the EGR valve? As for the other tool I heard "snips" , I dont know what this is. Is there a trick to removing these clips?
ive got a problem with my 1.6tdci c max (54). car drives long distances @ 60/70mph no problems....soon as I get on 30mph roads it cuts out almost like its stalled. mechanic seems to think it could be this egr valve. are my symptoms of a broken egr or can it be cleaned? car just been serviced so cant be any filters as aa recovery man said it was. please help one problem after another with this car.
if its been plugged into obd and it comes up with egr then it will be. quite common. new egr is best fix pal. the time it costs it not worth cleaning as egr will faulty internally.
+MsNicky73 the 2.0 is a totally different engine - this is a 1.6 if i'm not mistaken (looks exactly the same as my mk2 focus 1.6 110 with the fuel filter placement), i wouldn't follow the steps in this for your car and i think being 2004 yours will be a mk1?
hi what was the reason why you took it off and was a code showing there was a problem ? my turbo keep turning off but when you restart the engine and it work for a few second then goes off again would cleaning the egr fix the problem ?
michael pearce if car only does short journeys it's common for the EGR valve to get carbon build up and blocks the operation. it throws up a diagnostic code. car get lose power or run tough
ok that the problem i do get lack of power but there no code but when i click clear code even when there nothing showing the turbo back on do you think it best to clean it and go from there ?
