Overview of the overhaul. Precision fit the bushings, balanced the flywheel assembly, replaced the high gear clutches and illustrate necessary adjustments. I provide tips as well.

I wanted to ask question do the magneto coils get hot and what if be todays standards wuld happen if neodimium magnets were used or ceramic magnets? Wuld the coils burn out ? Actualy I wanted to build some thing similar self containing variabel ignition system also modifi gears for me needs even tought that Ford Model T isnt realy reliabel honestly dont like that strange arangement engine breaking is great but not in fast reaction movement in emergency case they do not work well or driver injury . So can you please describe the ignition system some what and how negative ground system wuld look like . Many peopel are not specific about the magneto to baterry swap system the generator and baterry are seperate circuets but no one mentiones if they share engine ground or not with the magneto so I dont understand them do that switch remove bouth baterry+ and - conection or just 1??? And what happens to the magneto if it is conected wia ground to baterry or the baterry it self wuld it not react with the magneto ? How much I understand thats AC electricity so dono how they use those trembler coils seperatly it is confuseing . Im actualy more curiuse to see if the baterry life span wuld be lot bether if the baterry does not tuch ground and only uses wires directly to baterry not useing chassys . Thats what confuses me most be that car because some engine types actualy use reverse polarity . Im useing such engine me self that can fire internali and extermali or combined some times I use that feature to simulate older engine designs and for conversions. So mostly that magneto confuse me and those thembler coils they do seam partialy to operate true the generator as well the vibrator coil I might be wrong on that but no one realy answered me question. Because Im woried due to magnet demagnetisation and if any thing is wrong with ignition system that car is like electric fence and I do not like it generator tuching ground or shareing ground with the magnito .

What is the cost to have this service done?
@LakelandAutoMarine
@LakelandAutoMarine 2 года назад
It’s expensive as the engine needs to be removed, hogs head and oil pan. Parts aren’t bad at all. It’s the labor that expensive.

Not trying to be an a## but why is 31 or even 18 grams close enough. This is exactly what is wrong with auto machine shops."hey that's close enough " a person pays you to balance a part they expect it to be balanced, NOT HEY CLOSE ENOUGH. I'm sure when you wrote the bill for what ever amount. For conversation sake, 400. 00 you wouldn't stand for the customer to hand you 325.00 and say hey that's close enough. I for one am tired of paying for half done work. Not saying done by you but in general,

Because its probably THEIR OWN car....You've seen "Mechanic Owned and Maintained" advertised for a local car for sale.... *DO NOT BUY IT* Most mechanics that are any GOOD are too freakin busy to Maintain their own cars, as well as fix what they are getting paid for! - How I know this? When I was a Teen working in a Machine (Engine) Shop as paid Apprentice, the Owner had ME Maintain his Wife's car because he had NO TIME to do so...So if she was complaining that the "All-Season" tires on her car were "Worthless" in the winter, it was left to me to make sure that when October rolled around, I put the snow tires on...Because "Happy Wife, Happy Life" and he was just too freakin busy machining $$$$ parts to deal with things that weren't making him money... It was easier and made more financial sense to pay me a lower wage than he made...Eventually I moved up and the next NOOB got the apprenticeship.

on a motor that is Turing at 4k or more yes 30 gr. would be a problem but two things one its only turning maybe 2k to 2500 so big deal and two there is a lot of other things going around that is not there . i use that same machine and ya i love it when some one sends in a motor and theirs no presser plate or disk so ya

Nothing on how to remove and replace all the bushings makes this video useless 😑

Pretty straightforward except for the final fitment. Drive em out and drive em in. I finished them in our Sunnen connecting rod machine.

I came here looking for that as well. How to measure and what tools were used.

@@timmahle8050Ford left this service operation pretty much out of details in their service manuals. What I conclude and have done is it is a hand precision job. All new bushings are each pressed out and pressed in with a press then hand reamed . In my opinion unless your a damn good machinist or you know one with a variety of reamers don't bother yourself. The tolerance is very precise. And make sure you weigh each before and mark the position of the 3 planetary gears for correct balance.... very important. Good luck
