I'm a raptor guy 100%, but I kind of feel like this video was also 100% biased.

See how he says he put the transmission in manual mode on the Dodge but you can see its still in drive on the gear selector.

Wait... you said the tires were too grippy, but you also said that tires weren't included on the ram runner.

OK im a Dodge guy (MOPAR OR NO-CAR AMIRIGHT?!) but these guys know wut they're doing talking about etc and to be honest the ram runner was a kit whereas the Raptor was manufactured so of course thats the multitask vehicle unlike the ram

This shows the difference between adding parts to a vehicle, that was not specifically designed for them (RamRunner), and a fully factory tested and still purpose built piece of machinery (Raptor).

I think the issue is... Ford designed the Raptor to be what it is. They designed the entire truck, tested, tuned and what have you. It seems like all Dodge did to "stay with the competition" was to contract out a suspension kit and a bumper/skidplate replacement. They said it in the video, with the Dodge's package you have to purchase the wheels and tires yourself. So it literally is JUST a suspension kit with a bumper. Essentially it's more for looks. And I do have to give it to them, when it comes to having the generally accepted "stance" of a pre-runner, the Dodge definitely looks the part and looks like a beast, without going too far out. But in my opinion, the Raptor is just awesome. I just wish they hadn't gone with those stupid ass matte vinyl graphics on the side. When washing something that's matte, you can't just clean an area if it's dirty you have to wash it all at once or else it will show. At least that was the case with the matte finished bikes and race bikes my buddy's shop built. He never wanted to do a custom bike for himself or the shop with a matte finish because it was hard to keep pretty.

Raptor: More affordable, better overall truck for a daily driver and off roader. Ram runner : unaffordable, and shit on the road, and in most cases gets fucked by the raptor off road!

I just think the ram is just a more defiant truck n keeps the driver more engaged with it. the Ford seems more of a cruiser for dirt which is sweet.

The problem with the Ram is simple. At the end of the day, it's what anybody can do to a stock Ram. The Ford on the other is a matched package all the way around.

Dodge Ram is like an off-road ricer. Loud looks backed up by nothing special. The Ford is the real deal and a silent killer. Talk about handing Dodge's ass to them.

I would love it if you uploaded the high speed footage of the trucks going over the high speed bumps. That looked really awesome.

Probably the reason that the rpms were bounce up and down on the Dodge was because you had the exhaust brake on. You can clearly see the light beside the rpm gadge. If you know what an exhaust brake sounds like you can hear it turn on and off.

I would love either and even though I'm a Mopar guy, I really like the raptor!

I think he didn't realize that the Ram Runner is very specialized for off - road driving where as the Ford is kind of universal so it depends what you're looking for. If your going to use the truck for work, you'd probably want to pick the Raptor but if you wanted a truck that would just be for all out off-road driving, the Ram is a better choice.

these guys need to clarify a few things. 1. the ram runner is a KIT, so the ability of the truck is 100 percent dependant on what YOU buy as a base truck. meaning if this 1500 wasnt bought with limited slip and such, then yes it will suck. 2. that hunting in the transmission tells me someone did not tune the shift points with the larger tires, nor thoubht ahead that larger tires would be installed when ordering or buying the base truck. in all categories, yes the raptor will be a better truck as it was engineered from the get go with all components working together. also that 56k price tag is not correct, unless they are buying just an extra cab. 3. rear axle hop in a corner on a leaf spring truck is indicative of malfunctioning shocks, or shocks not tuned for the weight of the truck. i had nitrogen fox shocks on my f350 that came on it when purchased it. i put up with them for 3 years, installed hydraulic shocks and it rides night and day different. no more bounce on concrete freeways, no more rear wheel hop during heavy braking, and no jumping sideways in the corner. the point is, it sounds like the ram donor truck the kit was installed on was a bad choice to start. if you called mopar and had them spec you a truck, you wouldnt have this problem.

How can they call it a head 2 head test? One (FORD) off the showroom floor and the Dodge a purpose built pre-runner. Ford is clearly the better truck as you don't have to buy a truck and have it customized.

For me the only thing better about the Ram is it looks a little nicer. They both look good though, but performence wise...the Raptor is way ahead. The Runner also seems to be only a play truck. While the Raptor is capable of everyday use. Overall...Raptor is better here.

The ford is a better buy! For the price of the ram as tested you have more than $13k to make the raptor a hell of a lot better than the ram! Suspension and tires to make the ford better off road would be less than $10k. The winner and still champion is FORD!

People talk the most shit about ford but forget that they're they're the only company out of the big three that didn't except government bailouts. Dodge and GM should both be out of business but they took government loans to stay in business. Ford also made the first affordable American car (model T) and invented the first moving assembly line. I'm a huge supporter of GM and Dodge as well but some people should learn the origin of American automobiles and who started it all before saying the cliche "Found On Road Dead" acronym.

As others have written this is a Ford ad!!! There is no comparison the Ram is long travel and will blow the raptor out of the water. That's why they show the street driving and turning because it highlights the raptors sway bar and tight turning. In every major off-road category the ram has more clearance, better approach and departure angles, more wheel travel, faster through woops but somehow the raptor is better?? What? Just put a sway bar on the ram and it will stead nice if that's what you want your off road baja truck to do. In defence of the raptor the ram kit cost a lot and I'm sure you could build the raptor up with long travel to equal or better the ram. So it's about the money you spend too.

Ford F-series trucks outselling all others in it's class for the last 39 years is no mistake. Would definitely take the Raptor as the best "overall" Hi-Po off-road truck.
