Mate you would be surprised with how many differences between early fordson( New Majors ) majors and late fordson majors (52 to 57') and power majors i reckon the front axle is about the only constant thing ! The seals may be for a later fordson R.
Would you happen to have the number for the right seal for the brake shaft please as they can’t match this in Perth and the uk tractor shack won’t post to me .
I don't sorry, the ones I ordered specifically for a Fordson didn't fit, there are 2 sizes apparently. I ended up taking the old ones to a Bearing Supplier who measured them and had them in stock.
Can you give the part number for the proper seals? My local tractor parts supplier says they have no idea so looks like I get to play the online order lottery.
There are 2 different sizes, best bet is to take some measurements or the originals and go to a bearing supply store. Best way to avoid getting the wrong size.
Just measure the hole and axle, lots of suppliers of simmerings around who also have them in inches, doesn t have to be anything with auto or tractor to do where they are more expensive too.
I am very fortunate to have an excellent workshop close by that has a great supply of bearings and seals, I've had no problems yet using generic seal replacements.
