Eric was a man of the people. He came from a close, financially struggling family so he could relate to many everyday fans he was very blue collar something that gene and paul didnt get. Never turned down an autograph request, so full of life and energy.Best drummer kiss ever had . Hes missed greatly by his fans and peers. May he rest in peace.

I had a buddy that as a kid was on vacation in Florida with his parents one day he saw a guy on the beach with long curly hair and started talking to him he asked my buddy if he liked kiss he told my buddy bring your parents up to my room my buddy knocked on the door and Eric opened the door and invited them in he got to watch him put his makeup on and then asked his parents if they would like to go to the show as his guests they already had plans so Eric asked them to wait in the lobby my buddy showed me the pictures of Eric and the rest of kiss posing with him and his parents such a nice guy

Eric was a man with a BIG HUMONGOUS HEART and a wonderful soul. Met him at a Drum clinic in Boulder, and was just the sweetest nicest guy. No ego, no pretense, no narcissism. He was more interested in knowing about YOU. He had me drum to God of thunder, the only criticism he had was that i sped up in a couple parts but he showed me great things to try and it was just an honor to get to sit with him and talk about OTHER things too. We attended a show in Pensacola, FL in 1987. The morning after the show, we left the hotel to head home and passed by the hotel where the band stayed....all we saw was a lot of black hair walking out to the limo. Our friend who was driving cut a quick right into the parking lot, we got out and walked over as Eric got in the limo and started to close the door. Security stopped us, but then we heard Eric yell “Wait, don’t close the door. Its ok”. Security let us go up to the limo. We each shook his hand, he signed a scrap piece of paper I had as I told him how great the show was. He was very appreciative and kind to us. I will always appreciate that - he really seemed like a normal guy who was living out his dream, but never forgot where he came from. RIP Eric.

Eric was hanging out in Millbrook NY at Millbrook Sound Studios and a friend of Paul Orofino. Eric asked me and Louis Daniele ( the owner of the studio was Lou's brother Michael) If we could meet him at the KISS warehouse because he had 3 or 4 drum kits he needed to remove. I was recording some demos with my band at the time and he would listen and compliment us and he told me he was envious of our youth and how cool it would be to be in his early 20's as an up and coming rocker. It was an amazing day and we talked a lot about his health and such.

of all the paths I've walked in this lifetime, I got home one day to my Father telling me, some young man named Gene Kline called here looking for you and he was a bit on the rought side ... he apologized and I guess he sounds like a pretty good guy ... he left this number for you to call ... I called and spoke to Gene and he asked me to come up to to the Record Plant in L.A. to meet he and Paul and talk about the audition process for KISS ... a longtime fan of the Band, I wanted it more than words could ever say ... just have to say, Eric Carr was very kind to me ... not only is Eric an insanely killer Drummer, but he could do it all ... write, sing, play guitar ... has writing credits on records most of us will never know about ... but more important than all that, to me that is, he was respectful, laid back and just very good to me ... life can be so really fucking unfair sometimes ... another Soul Set Free to Fly ... Shalom ... good man ... good heart.

Of all the members of Kiss, I always thought Bruce Klick was the most level-headed and the most gentlemanly of the band. Also, he's probably the best song-writer and guitarist that KISS had, next to possibly Vinnie Vincent, who wasn't exactly the most stable character. As a drummer myself, Eric Carr was probably the most overall musically talented musician/drummer KISS had. RIP Eric. I didn't know he had a co-writing credit on Bryan Adam's Cuts Like A Knife album. @@dirkvanderpoel6797 The double guitar note (with one flat note and the other note bent towards the same note) and the triple notes (when he starts bending the 3rd string) that Ace used in almost every Kiss song, was played in the Psycho Circus guitar solo. There you have a part of Ace's legacy sound - that double bending and hanging on to notes with vibrato and usually followed by higher similar notes. Ace other typical solos have a lot of different but repeated rhythm and synced rhythm - if you know what I mean. And he based his guitar solos on rock based from blues like Jimi Hendrix, not scales from classical music like some 80's guitarists (example Malmsteen). So listen to Psycho Circus guitar solo again please and you will probably know what I mean. And that must be a part of why Tommy Thayer is playing Ace's stuff & style in his way. It sounds more like that original and great KISS sound. More of a raw, naked guitar sound with thicker mid eq sound you get from a Les Paul (or another mahogany electric guitar). Ace's solos also had a lot more melody, groove and rhythm with flow that fitted better - and was alot easier to remember. I agree - Ace was phenomenal in the 70s. Its too bad he didn't evolve. Peace

Don't Leave Me Lonely. Written by Eric Carr, Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. Gene Simmons heard the Carr demo, where he sang and played many instruments. Rejecyed because "too pop" for KISS 💋 Thus, Bryan Adams recorded it. Down on Your Knees. Written by Bryan Adams, Paul Stanley and the late Mykal Japp. War Machine. Written by Bryan Adams, Jim Vallance and Gene Simmons. They also wrote Rock and Roll Hell. BA and Jim Vallance gave a demo, Bryan Adams singing. They said it was finished. But Gene Simmons did not and added a 3rd verse. Great drums from Eric Carr on all the songs listed. The 2 rejections told you about Gene Simmons then. RIP Eric Carr.

Eric went into remission after his operation, however Gene & Paul locked Eric out of the 'Revenge' recording sessions & were looking for a clause in the Kiss contract with his illness to fire him. In retaliation, Eric effectively had his family lock them out of his medical updates in fear they would fire him. It wasn't the tumour on his heart that actually killed him, he died from a brain aneurysm, which I believe was compounded by the stress of the band situation. Eric Carr really lived for the fans & for Kiss. Tragically, he died for them too ;( May he never be forgotten RIP

Maybe a hard-core Kiss fan reading this can help me out and verify something that I'm almost positive took place. It's a cool story for Kiss fans nonetheless: So, in the mid-nineties I lived in a town in upstate New York called Greenwood Lake. It's located in Orange county and is very well known by New Yorkers as a tourist destination. Beautiful lake. On the water was a nightclub. They had well-known bands who didn't have big careers anymore. I found out from a guy in town that Kiss rented out the nightclub and performed for a party celebrating Eric's life the actual night of his funeral. His funeral took place in a town nearby. I think it was either Kingston or Middletown. Gene named the town Eric's funeral took place in his book but I can't remember, but the town was in the same county as Greenwood Lake. I know that for a fact. Can someone confirm this party took place? I just want to know if all four original members actually reunited at this club I lived down the street from. It would be cool just to know for sure.

The way Bruce talks about Eric it's like he was in love with him

Eric Carravello was a hero to me in my awkward teenage years, and he had no idea that his little acts of kindness made such a lifelong impression on me to treat others with kindness as well.

Eric Carr was the best drummer Kiss had, and also in my opinion he's one of the top 5 greatest drummers of all time.

The wrong thing was already to go into the studio and record a new album while your drummer was fighting cancer and battle for his life imo!

I'll never forget the day Eric passed, nor will I forget that piece of s*** Howard Stern saying that Eric's death was not news - and I've never been a fan since.

Stern also chimed in on the day John Ritter died, and it wasn't with sadness and honor. Stern gets adults to LoL at hearing, "caca, poo poo & pee pee"

Why do people get so up and arms and crazy about kiss? Sure I like their music but people make it out to seem like they are some mythical band like pink floyd or something they made songs about chasing girls and partying nothing deep at all.
