First I’d like to point out that you have the most concise, well planned out and simple to follow Forscan instructions on RU-vid. Most channels love to tell you about the Mods they did but conveniently forget to include how to actually do them…I’m currently having an issue with my 2018 Platinum F150. I ran a Lane centering calibration and ever since I have a message on the dash saying “Front camera malfunction”. I ran calibration again and It does the same thing…Also my adaptive cruise sensor has been obstructed according to the car for a few months…do you think that could be part of the problem? If you have any tips I would greatly appreciate them!
The auto stop/start is linked to the battery monitoring system (BMS - the sensor is typically on the negative battery terminal) so as you’re using up battery voltage via the many modules, blower, instrument cluster/gauges, infotainment, etc. the BCM will tell the PCM it needs to turn the engine back on to charge the battery. A higher Ah AGM battery is suggested because AGM batteries are deep cycle and can discharge deeper than conventional batteries, but also have a higher rate of charge/discharge.
Ricardo! Great channel! 🙏I usually have my pickup in Sport mode. That turns off the auto start/stop, but I like your mods best. Something for thought, turn pickup on with Sport mode on as default instead of tapping through the road condition selections, i.e. rain snow, trailer, eco... blah blah. Stay 💪.
Question is how do you turn off the engine idle in an F350 2023 using forscan. Currently it only lasts for 30 minutes we have a fire truck responder vehicle and we needed to last until the entire time on the scene and not turn off it in 30 minutes
Thank you so much for this I really hate this feature. Another thing can I disable the airbags so it doesnt pop up when we off roading. Some raptors had that problem specially in sand climbing then hitting the ground it pop up right away So if there is any option we can disable it when we are off roading and enable it back in normal driving
Ricardo, can you tell me if there is an option in the BCM programming to enable the LED bed lights? I have added the factory lights, switch and wiring harness from a known working F-150 but the lights are not working.
I have a question. I disabled auto start stop. My battery charge limit is set to 80%. And my battery affter 2 days is 91% charge. It's mean when you disable your alternator run all the time?. Or is ok battery can be charge to 100%. Thx for help
I just bought a 2020 F150, I’m looking to disable the Auto Start Stop, Open Door Jingle and the start up jingle. Are there specific codes for 2020? On my friends 2019 he used your videos and they worked so I’m not sure if they’re any different for a 2020 or they’re the same codes.
I have a 2018 F150 Lariat. If I change the FCIM it also disables the Drive Mode selector on my center shifter. Anyone else run into this when disabling the button?
So I have a 2018 F-150 2.7L Ecoboost XTR (Canadian XLT). I hooked up to FORScan like I have in the past and this time I went to disable the Auto Start/Stop, I followed this video step by step and triple checked myself. I was successful in disabling the function but it also removed all of my drive modes (Eco, Towing, Snow/Wet, Sport), so I reverted back to having the Auto start stop enabled and that gave me back my drive modes. Is there a way to not have that happen?
You can also buy a 7 Way to 4 Way plug reducer (aka dummy plug) and plug it into the trailer connector which signals the computer that a trailer is being towed which disables the auto start / stop feature by default configuration. (Dealer Tip) He said it was the biggest complaint from Ford truck owners. Another way: Above and to the left of brake pedal is a white module. The are 3 harnesses plugged into this module. The bottom one is smaller and in black cable sheathing. Simply disconnect it and it disables auto start/stop. The module is for trailer lights, blinkers, etc... So if you hook to a trailer just plug it back in because again hooking to a trailer by default disables auto start/stop. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RJEzjws0k-g.html Not trying to discount your video, I love them and ForScan. Just sharing info on the other methods I've learned.
I have a 2023 Power boost hybrid. It's much too hot this summer for my engine to turn off. The AC is much, much less cool when the truck is in electric. When the engine comes on, the temp drops and the AC blows harder. If I turn off start / stop on a hybrid, will the engine stay on? Also stinks since the remote start comes on in electric. Even after 15 minutes, it's hot as heck the truck. The only time I appreciate the running on electric is in WOT when it boosts my total HP.
Hey Richardo i did this and it did not work. All it did was disable then notice in the cluster when you push the button and it saying disabled by the switch. But it will shut of at an interection. When i push the button than it wont shut off. Any ideas
I found out yesterday that it did not work and I will retry it. Do you think it makes a different that it is a Canadian truck? It was the same on turning off the day time running lights. You said you but all 0000 in that one group that it did not work for. I had to do it another way. Maybe because it is a Canadian truck
If you already know how to use ForSCAN, just jump to the 5 min mark. Then the 8:35 mark. 11 min video for 4 mins worth of info. Appreciate the intent but this could have been much shorter.
@@ricardosworkshop Agreed. Both are right. You could put a timestamp in the description to skip ahead if you want to see the program. I just like watching the whole thing in case there's something I can learn.
Yep. After you do a few mods it becomes easy. All you need is the list like you posted but if you have not done any modding it's nice to have the whole video like this. Forscan is pretty awesome really and simple once you learn it. I just took a pic of the changes and did it. Thank you Ricardo!
Exactly. That would be ideal. You'd think the guys at Ford would have thought of it. Definitely the 2nd most irritating feature after the double honk. I already knew about the fuse you can remove but I like this better.
