Forza Motorsport (2023) vs Gran Turismo 7 - Nordschleife Comparison (McLaren P1 GTR) 

With the circuit long as Nordschleife, it's quite difficult to make a good comparison where you don't see big time gaps between corners, that's why I had to split this lap into 3 parts. I also had to do some cheating and use sports soft tires in GT7, because I was driving to fast compared to lap times I did in Forza with racing soft tires. Other than that, the same time of the day for both games (17.25) and identical weather conditions (mostly clear - Forza; dry, and pleasant with a few clouds - GT7).

I see the jump on the crest at Flugplatz still exists in FM2023, unlike the updated ones in GT7. Edit: Also, more Trees™

The steering wheel animation and movement is so much more realistic in Gran Turismo and I'm kind of disappointed that Forza still hasn't adopted this realistic and quick moving steering wheel. Makes it feel disconnected from the actual car.

1:50 forza did em dirty for the infamous Metzgesfeld tree Overall Forza went for a more richer and dense vegetation effect to look more dramatic and Gran Turismo tried to guess where the trees and respective species are irl Check a Summer onboard video of the Nords and you'll know

At this rate, if Forza were to feature a moon stage like GT6, let there be no doubt that Turn10 would add as many trees as possible.

I cannot really decide, both are great games with pros and cons, I'd play them both and appreciate them for their beauty and not really pick one over the other

forza looks like it was captured without a filter on and GT7 looks like they put an poliarized filter over the lens giving more clarity. both look amazing , i LOVE GT7 forza looks to be a bit more "alive". The car sounds a little more raw in forza (oddly enough as GT7 cars usually sound much better this time around) the track looks a little more true to life in GT7 but both have good visual representation. The only thing you cant tell is how the cars feel across all of the surfaces and elevation changes.

Why is every car sound in FM8 so watered down?

Gt7 is more accurate, turn 10 tends to add a lot of fake objects, pd has always been better With attention to detail and go for an accurate approach

wish Forza would add some deeper colours, it all looks washed out... like the gamma has been raised, everything has a white filter

So in other words you had to use street sport soft tyres on the p1 in GT7 to compensate for the inaccuracy of Forza's tyre model not being able to match the realistic simulation of Gt7 with racing soft which is comparable to real life...... I get you

Odd how Forza added the track more recently yet has a more outdated version of the track. There are bumps in FM's version that don't exist anymore. Also, the curbs look "off."

forza car sound is so unrealistic even the dash screen of p1 doesn't look like anything like that tree replacement is so random and second kreuser(idk how to speel it) is so different from irl and much more feels like fake nurburgring from rfactor 1

Delaying this track in Forza just to recycle it from the previous game. Some people are confusing placing more random objects throughout the track with detail and realism. It's okay for an arcade like Grid, but not for a "sim".

Forza has good lighting on the track and environment, but why do the cars look like they’re glowing or plastic!? Despite not having ray tracing, GT7 cars look like a generational leap past Forza.

You can feel the speed in Forza, more then in Gt ( My opinion)

The colors looks on forza much more realistic to me. GT always looks like someone payed to much on the color saturation. So that it always look like the tele tubbie land

I believe Forza will be the finished product in about 6 months, its already getting better and the Nurburgring addition has improved it vastly. Comparing it to Gt7 is always nice to see but they 2 different approaches to simcades, Forza has always been about driving and atmosphere and GT is mostly realism. I will say the GT fans struggle to admit that Forza can be very good at times and even in this video seems very realistic and alive.

I don’t know what looks better or looks more realistic but the sense of speed is really good in Forza. Hopefully it comes to PS5 one day

Forza Motorsport version of the Nordschleife look more detail than Gran Turismo 7 version. But there is a problem with the FM version though. Too many trees! So I’m not incline to say Forza Motorsport’s version clears over Gran Turismo’s version. I would say it’s a tie between both. -Gran Turismo player

I'm incredulous how much more beautiful the FM is, you realize that the physics of the cars are superior and the depth of the map the textures and modeling of the map are better and the main thing is the global lighting, the turn10 engine is very good at the level of unreal engine...

Although Turn10 tends to add elements to tracks that aren’t there in real life, I do like that Forza’s tracks feel a bit more lively than GT’s because of it. They’re both ridiculously good looking games though and I’m lucky enough to be able to play both of them.

Looks like they rotate on a centre axis and its the track thats moving in the rear view at the start

What really matters to me is how the handling feels - and I don't know which I would prefer there - but visually and even more audibly I prefer FM. GT looks and sound way more arcade-like to me.

I just got a PlayStation basically to start playing GT7 it blows Forza away by a mile.

GT7 is obviously better, but the contrast is better in Forza, the areas in the shade in GT7 are way too dark, especially the trees, for example at 6:28 the dark areas in Forza are more realistic. With that said, I think this time of day and weather always looks dull even in games with good graphics, I'm curious to see how they look in different time and weather. Also, is Forza using the normal P1 dashboard?

Do the team at GT watch on board footage of actual GT racing. Do they understand racing cars sound agressive and loud, not like a buch of hair driers and hoovers.

From the looks FM looks much prettier, got real summer trackday vibes. Regarding track difference both of these seem lackluster in comparison to AC...

But Forza is not bad. But is overtuned. To much stuff. Higher tress. Looks more than real.

Fm has heaps more random shit on the side of tracks which is just a waste of effort. Who cares about almost any of it? Only like 25% of the stuff they add makes sense and adds to the experience positively

This video is the same as comparing 2 televisions from different brands and one of them without calibrating the colors, brightness and saturation. I'm sure that if you configure it properly, you'll notice that Forza has better vegetation and richer details. But I've always liked the photo realism of granturismo , The car's bodywork really looks like TIN and not plastic

I have experience with both. Personally, in isolation they're doing the good job representing the track in their own way. FM never claim it to be real driving simulator so it's OK to add some 'spices' so that it will be enjoyable by console gamers. GT is closer to real life, can't deny the fact that their boss is also a pro racer and photographer so in some ways, it's better than Forza.

poor forza. its really getting its ass handed to it. But i guess it has a lot of technical issues holding it back. it has to run on that series S, that has all the processing power of a sweaty old sneaker.

Played Metropolis Street Racer on Dreamcast then Project Gotham on XBox. Fun, but not close to Gran Turismo. Then Forza dropped and there was finally real competition. Loved both series for different reasons, and they made each other better. So, what in the f has happened to Motorsport? It’s awful. Anyone watching this video who thinks it’s comparable is ignorant or just a fanboy who doesn’t really care about the game. If they did, they would hold the dev team accountable for this. Horizon is what it is, and still amazing. Motorsport 8 is simply unacceptable.

i believe that if forza had the same colour pallet as gt7 it would look way better, it looks washed up but it's not horrendous.

Both are beautiful. Forza has more details around, GT7 with more gloss and reflections on cars.

Both did a great job, this one I'm gonna give to Forza. The sunlight just looks far more realistic and the world looks imperfectly lived in. The saturation levels in GT are just too high. And the curbs look perfectly brand new, except for the occasional tire rub near the base of the curb. Forza's curbs have dirt and grime. The both did the interiors really well, they are slightly different models, so you can't really go like for like. I just don't know why in an open environment, that GT's McLaren sounds like it's in a tunnel. Again, both are great representations, and if you have either game, you won't be missing out. Great job by the developers. Great video comparison.👍

I saw a comparison on the Kireth channel, where he talks about the tracks in Forza and Gran Turismo. Forza seems to have more details.

GT7 for the win as usual

In one hand, Gran Turismo 7 presents better visual quality in terms of car models (both interiors and exteriors), a better balance of colors and contrast, more realistic circuits in terms of representation, and better physics and car reactions. Obviously, the driving sensation in Gran Turismo 7 is also much better. On the other hand, Forza Motorsport has better sound, better ambient geometry, higher vegetation density, and overall, better graphics at the scenery level. I also prefer the sensation of speed and camera angle here.
