An incredibly rare and incredibly beautiful coin. There is some slight damage to the coin, but I do not believe I was responsible for this. Hi there, thanks very much for watching this short video of one of my best finds so far of 2023. This was the 2nd of 3 gold coins I have found this year. As with most coins, they usually fall out of someones pocket when they sit down. There were no handbags or wallets back then and many probably had holes in their pockets. Also back then, 95% of employment was in agriculture, everyone was out in the fields working or traveling. This is why we find so many coins when metal detecting. A lot of people have passed through this field over the last 2,000 years. Hello there, thanks very much for coming along to my channel and watching this short video. The numbers refer to the composition (type of metal) and size of the target. For example, small gold will be low numbers 50s and 60s. Big silver coins would be mid 90s. Medium sized copper coins would be 80s. But depth can affect these readings, its all quite complex, but I hope this helps. Did you find them all in the same field?? I heard "so don't quote me " that if you find 3 or more gold coins in one location you have to report it to some relevant authorities but that was just hearing a comment that holtzhammer detecting was responding to in one of his videos because he found 3 or 4 in the same field and some said he had to report it as it was classed as a hoard?? Tbh I thought 10+ coins was classed as a hoard but maybe its different if its gold. Anyway I was really happy 4 u m8 it was such s beautiful find and probably something many others go their whole detecting career dreaming of finding without any luck and it was mint condition, what would the value of that be?? Or is it a case of putting a reserve and seeing what people are willing to bid??

@@robbieallan6522 not the same field no, but in the same village. I had this 1/3 Guinea, a Half Guinea and a Edward VII full Sovereign. I once found 2 George V Sovereigns in the same hole, but never reported that. The treasure act is constantly changing, so I don't know anymore to be honest. This 1/3 Guinea unfortunately had some scratches on it so worth bullion around £150. Priceless to me though and will obviously never be sold. I've been quite lucky, 9 gold coins found in 9 years. I know where to look though and have a good nack of finding them. I used to watch Holz Hammer Saga couple years ago, but I don't have the time to support other channels anymore

@@TheDukesOfDerbyshire yeah I'm in the middle of creating my own channel with a friend of mine it's going to be a fishing/foraging/outdoor camping hunter gathering channel hopefully with some metal detector stuff and mudlarking as I dig bait and collect muscles in the harbour and local beaches and I'm always finding and filming things, just last week I found a silver spoon and a clay pipe and some petrified wood I filmed it all along with the bait collection and it's now with my m8 who has better knowledge with editing so I've left that in his capable hands but my point is I know what you mean about not really having time to support alot of other channels when you're trying to create your own in your spare time. I am subscribed to yours as of today because you took the Time to reply to my comment in detail and that goes a long way in my book, anyone can scroll through comments hitting like like like 👍 but to take a few seconds to give someone a proper response means you do care about what people are saying also I know just that can bring people out of a really bad day. Anyway bud thanks for your responses and as soon as we post our first content I'll let you know especially if theirs some metal detecting. 😉

From the start I have always had the same thought process that if someone has the time to watch my channel and to leave comments and talk to me, then I will make the time for them too, replying / chatting etc. Sometimes though I get ovewhelmed with comments and it can take me ages to reply to them. Good luck with your future channel, I do like watching some outdoors stuff now and again. Probably 15 videos ago, I slept in a hammock on one of my permissions and filmed the weekend, it was awesome. Done several wild camp + detect weekenders too, some of my fave videos. Thanks again for your kind words

I didn't pay anything for it, I found it in a field with a metal detector, jist like I have found 8 other gold coins, hundreds of silver coins and tens of thousands of copper coins. Its my passion and its how I spend most of my weekends over the last 10 years. Please don't confuse my channel with the many fantasy metal detecting channels out there. I dedicate so much time and effort to this hobby, and finds like this are the rewards for all that hard graft. Thanks for watching
