I watch this dude to fall asleep, the filming/editing mixed with his voice and the absence of music really sets a very unique tone that I haven’t found in any other RU-vidr, not like this at least .
i have no clue about actual estimated numbers but if i had to guess i'd say they built hundreds of thousands of these from small to gigantic, and i can imagine that a lot of them are completely forgotten and nobody knows about them
Also amazed how much of abandoned resources and recyclable materials are just left laying around, basically wasted. Some day these are going to be "gold mines".
You nailed it with the last comment,... i was trying to isolate the feeling i get when i watch you go into these places and it is definitely one of having escaped a path of fate that could have been devastating for the whole world. - Having these bunkers rot peacefully beneath our feet is a luxury i'll never finish being grateful for.
Thats exactly how i feel, so fun how human brain works. The word "escaped" is key in how i described the feeling, How shiey described and How you described.
Greetings from Latvia! I wasn't aware of the existence of this bunker. You gave me a goal to accomplish next year because I would certainly want to visit it. Paldies!
hey @shiey, at 2:09 you asked whether it is a radio or not. It is the monitoring interface of the bunkers electrical grid. It has a current(A), frequency(hertz / Hz), and a voltage(V) indicator too. This was used to determine whether the generated power(by the diesel generator) was in the specified tolerances: 220V, 50Hz. The current meter(A) was able to show that all the other devices which were connected to the power grid how much current they consumed. Thus they could monitor a potential soft overload of the system, as well as determine the average power (W) consumed by the grid.
The black mask is a GP-5M also known as ShM-66MU, basically a modernized GP-5. with earholes and the metal disk on the front is a voice diaphragm. With the clearer ability to hear and communicate they were more often used by military personnel but also by civilians to communicate on radios.
I highly love the fact that you don't destroy anything, take stuff, or show locations, is so cool seeing something like this left behind, i saw the other day you uploaded a video that had cars and a firetruck, it was insane looking at those cars, never seen them before, everything about it, is like a museum, and sadly if u show location stupiid people would 100% destroy the enviroment, thanks for content, is trully amazing!!
2:09 the center dial is an RPM meter. The little plates vibrate to specific tunes revealing the exact range at which something (can be more than motors) operate. In common tongue they're called "Vibrating Reed Tachometers".
First box was probably telecommunications, second box was power like you said. The 'radio' by the generator wasnt measuring radio frequency but electrical current oscillation from the generator which would vary within a certain range due to load demands on the generator changing.
Statistically speaking shiey is more likely to survive a nuclear war than the rest of us if he keeps spending his free time hanging out in abandoned bunkers lol Imagine trying to explore an underground bunker with no electricity, that would be just horrible having to deal with the fumes and smoke from fire based lighting. Electric lighting is such a massive invention, gandalf's power is subtle but profound
I really agree with what you said about the vibe of the places… something about these bleak, empty places that are designed for terrible scenarios, just being so deserted… it makes me feel like a kind of sad peacefulness.. idk but I appreciate you showing us these things 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Back in the early 70's my older brother was hired from a temp company to help empty out an old bomb shelter in NYC. He found a shit load of barbiturates presumably used to calm down the people if they started freaking out over the end of the world. He stuffed his backpack with bottle after bottle. Needless to say we had a very laid back summer and he never went back to work for that company.
Lucky bastards, I’d kill for a find like that. I’ve always wondered what kinds of medicine Shiey finds in the bunkers, I kind of wish that he’d tell us!
@@sup1ns661 Barbiturates are a class of depressant drugs that are chemically derived from barbituric acid. They are effective when used medically as anxiolytics, hypnotics, and anticonvulsants, but have physical and psychological addiction potential as well as overdose potential among other possible adverse effects. Google is a wonderful tool.
@@sup1ns661 Barbiturates are medications that cause you to relax or feel drowsy. They alleviate stress and anxiety. They can also stop or prevent convulsions and seizures.
I love getting a cup of coffee, sitting on a comfy sofa and watching him look around in a 50 years old, abandoned nuclear bunker. Its one of the coziest things to do in a calm Saturday morning.
At 7:52 when Shiey finds the personal medical kits and opens one and says the drug is still in it, that unbroken vial thing in the case is a pretty potent soviet opiate. Stronger than codeine but maybe 65%-70% the strength of morphine. I can’t believe he leaves those and walks by them when he finds them, one of those cases without the narcotic vial in it is about $20 on the internet. Take all the opiate vials out for personal use or profit and then sell the cases for cash to collectors lol. I know he doesn’t touch anything and I respect that, because if there weren’t people like him then we wouldn’t be able to see that stuff. But that’s akin to finding a hundred untouched US morphine syrette’s like from WW2 or Vietnam and just leaving them be lol. The drug is still good too, guaranteed.
The squeeze syrette is Promedol 2% solution, or depending on which version of the AI-2 medical kit you get, it could be a mixture of morphine and codeine. Junkies raided all of these, for him to casually find so many that are intact still is bewildering. Shiey is the Soviet bunker master.
2:13 given the positioning and the units on the meters, it probably is more to monitor the generator before connecting it to the rest of the circuit. The gen output has to stabilize to the specs needed (voltage and frequency, possibly phase alignment if needed) before you can power stuff with it
Great Video man ! i love the Locations you are willing to find and show us !! :D keep up this nice work :) I also wondered if you ever in any Locations have experienced any kind of paranormal stuff ? :D
I am realizing how obsessed I am with old objects and antiques, I spent the whole time thinking about everything I would take, definitely would have taken the medicine cabinet

Man I've loved finding your account. This type of travelling is wild! It reminds me of when I was solo backpacking in Albania in 2015, I hitchiked to this abandoned military outpost and found all these warehouses full of bullet shells & empty landmine canisters that they used during the war's in the 90's. Really wish I filmed it all like you have! Oh well, i've finally started filming my travels so hopefully see you out on the road❤
I just get a flashback of that trollge video, where that troll guy was spending a good time outside and it started to rain and he escaped to some abandoned factory to get some shelter. He got lost in that place and never got out and loses his mind. I know it was just one of those horror meme videos, but hell it gets me goosebumbs everytime i watch it.
Cool video. I immediately thought of a Soviet bunker when I saw the typical pressure doors with the numbers. The Soviet troops built their bunkers in a similar way here in Brandenburg. Greetings from East Germany :)
it takes a lot of courage to go into a place like this alone, because I was wondering how you would get out of this place without your flashlight, or assuming you have more spare flashlights, if your flashlights malfunctioned, the place looks like a labyrinth, imagine a labyrinth without any light.
Please wear some security gear like filters or something for you to breath safely when you enter these places lil brother, we want to see you well and safe ❤
thanks for visiting my country once again. I know where this is but I never been there myself. You have been in more places in my homeland then I have been. I moved from one shit to another. Thanks man for a good content
Shiey and Proper People are the only urban explorers that I watch. The content is great and real, without click baits or extra tactics to pull monetization. Just straight forward exploration.
Been watching you for a few years now, always relaxing and interesting. Makes me wonder, if shtf, how effective/reliable would these still be if you got at least the ventilation and air purification working, and what it would take to get to that point
The factory ny mom worked in when we loved in Poland had one of these, and I was able to sneak in while she worked and got to see some cool stuff before they shut it down.
