I just cancelled my order for the Elite Strap with the battery after all the reports of it breaking. TBH, I must be in a minority but I find the default strap perfectly comfortable. I was also surprised at the sound, since everybody seems to hate it but I find it to be perfectly fine. Any way, I just saved myself over 100€.

Just installed my DAS on my quest 2...sound is definitely 10x better. Highly recommended and ordered the 3d print bracket and rebuff VR battery so I'll have a video on that once everything arrives. Otherwise, velcro for now and loving the comfort and audio! A MUST MOD FOR THE QUEST 2. Love this video too! Keep up the contents!

Idk why but I love the look of the frankenquest more than the elite strap. I think the black and white, and the headphones give it a sorta tactical look. Love it!

If you hate the standard strap, you are likely wearing the back to low. I made the same mistake. It's still worth swapping it out eventually, but most people could probably move from "hate" to a "mild disdain" if you wear it properly. Keep it up towards the crown (not the base of your skull), and adjust the arms on the quest to comfort. That will keep it off your ears, and help significantly with the pressure on your face. User mileage will obviously vary, but if you don't have the cash to upgrade, you can get by pretty well with the stock strap until you do. Beyond that, the vive deluxe audio strap is the absolute best way to go.

6:54 - Actually the Vive deluxe strap over the Quest 2 looks like a very nice looking combination (the best I've seen of 3rd party accesories that are attached to it) but it is just too expensive unfortunately and I still doubt how really comfortable it actually is.

Another thing, I was going to buy the mantis headphones for my elite strap until I realized that the mantis head phones and the elite strap combined were like a hundred bucks so you would be way better off just buying the audio strap plus not having to worry about it breaking

It was a huge difference for me. Deluxe Audio Strap is perfect and really balances the weight. To prevent the DAS from soaking up your sweat, get the VR cover that is leather for the back of the DAS. I had the DAS on quest 1 for almost a year. Got Quest 2 and bought the elite strap. Amazon had them to me by release day. Ellie strap is better than the original one. I had no problems with it breaking but the comfort wasn't great. Used it for 2 weeks but I made the switch because of the audio issue. It's super annoying to take headphones off everytime I need to remove the headset. I spend 6-10 hours in my headset at a time, I have to remove it at times. Ear buds get uncomfortable after that amount of time. And Bose headphones can't cover ears properly because the plastic elite strap is very close to your ear. My head is not that big. I just made the switch today after my 3d parts arrived. The comfort is superb and no more headphone problems. Personally I think Facebook/Oculus is trying to make more money partnering with audio companies to include it with the strap. They want to piece meal everything. I was able to reuse my controller grips, DAS, magnetic charging ports/cord. Now to find a facial insert that's comfortable and leather/pleather. Any suggestions?

I got my quest 2 and while it didn’t last long before having a controller go out, I also don’t like that head strap. After hours of troubleshooting and taking it off and on my ears did get sore lol.

I bought the battery strap and love it. I'm praying it doesn't crack. Idk if some people just got lemons or if they are all brittle

Since Amazon lost my Elite strap I am going to be using my existing DAS like you. Tbh I think its actually better choice anyway given the onboard Audio and the lack of cushion on the Elite. Try VR Covers cushion on the DAS for less sweat and more padding ;) no comment on the Elite breaking but its definitely worrying trend this soon.

personally i'm going with the DAS because my elite strap snapped after 2 weeks of not rough usage while i was adjusting the headset.

Someone posted a vid of a native quest 2 halo style strap vid today, said it was $30, but they didn't leave a link yet. Like you said, I'm sure in a couple months we will be drowning in Q2 accessories.

7:07 - That is not true, the Deluxe Vive strap looks way way better IMO on the Quest 2 than the official Elite Strap...it looks like the color + design of the Vive strap is made especially for Quest 2 but that is just my opinion.

What are you talking about with the DAS? It looks hacky no matter how you attach it? My man. There are adapters out there that make it look like it belongs. You use velcro or tape? Yeah, it looks hacky.. Good video, and it has some good input.

They are all wrong! You can easily attach the Q1 Halo strap to Q2 which is better and cheaper than all of the options here.

I think the one that comes with it is fine but I havent tried the elite or deluxe audio strap

I have some expensive noise-cancelling earbuds so went with the elite headstrap, but something like the bionik clip-on headphones would be great. I haven't bought them because the reviews on the sound quality aren't very good.

I got Quest 2 from launch day 1. I hate default strap. I am considering to return just because of this. I already ordered Elite strap 10/10/20 but I got email from Oculus saying it will be delayed for long time(recall or something). many ppl including you saying this solution is pretty good but I am not so 100% sure If this this perfect solution for me. I still can return Quest 2 until Jan / 2021 to Amazon. I currently own Samsung Odyssey+ WMD with upgraded strap and I am 100% satisfied with it as far as comfort level on my head. but with Quest 2 I cannot wear more than 15 minutes because it drives me nuts..

I've never got on well with the halo straps on any headset, I feel like they do not keep the headset close and tight, and there is a lot of shaking when moving my head

wheel on my elite already sounds strange after a week or so, there is zero chance it is going to last a year let alone two or more (which is how long I plan to keep it) so I went for the DAS, expensive, but at least it will actually have the audio etc.

Did you see VRcouldron's video on how to put on the stock strap so that it's comfortable? I tried it and it is about 300 million times better then any other adjustment I tried

I ordered the Logitech G333 that were developed for the Quest 2, they were $50, but I also wanted an Elite Strap, but thankfully they were 'Not Available' yesterday when I placed my order... SO, should I return the Logitech headphones, and possibly the Quest 2 official carrying case, or will the DAS fit in the carry case? Also, do you have a link for any of the 3d printed parts, as I dont have my own printer...

I got lucky, my buddies school has a $2000 3d printing setup and I got the 3d parts for free

do you think the clips with the default strap would work better to hold the headset to the deluxe audio strap? i.e. cut them off with a pair of scissors and glue/tape them to the deluxe audio strap and then clip it onto the quest 2 headset that way.

Both are bad. Everything that presses in the Face is Uncomfortable. Only the Halo Strap is comfortable.

Looking at this strap rather than the Elite Strap but would rebuffreality.com/products/vr-power (VR Power Pack) be suitable with the Vive Deluxe Audio Strap? Mainly looking at the oculus elite strap for the extended battery life.

This is hilarious. I contacted oculus about returning my unopened elite quest 2 strap I received 2 days ago since I heard about the breaking and talked to their customer service and wanted my transaction # and they just never charged my PayPal account and basically let me keep the elite strap along with the VR cover facial interface for free WTH? I’ll guess I’ll take it. But I will never resell the elite strap. That thing might be garbage. I might include it if I do sell the quest 2 since I already bought the deluxe audio strap for $105 on eBay. I had no choice. And the adapter for the deluxe strap can also be bought on eBay which I also ordered.
