We are installing a Reflow Master into a toaster oven to make a low cost reflow oven. The brains of the oven is the Reflow Master created by Seon From Unexpected Maker - / @unexpectedmaker
8:32 - Watch an egg get reflowed
12:45 - The actual completed oven you may want to copy
Subscriber Update - Thank you everyone for your support and comments! It the first small mile stone reaching 1000 subs, so we are doing a small give away. Of course the reason the oven is needed is I have 7 new projects of been working on of the last few weeks they will be arriving from JCLPCB on the 24th of July so look out for a number of new and hopefully interesting video very soon.
I am giving away 1 Reflow master and if you can make use of one and would like one, please email me a picture of projects that you are working on, with a description of what it is, I will share these photos on instagram and will on the 15 August Randomly pick one winner, that has submitted a photo. I will send you a Reflow Master with case and SSR as soon as Seon has then back in stock.
Reflow Master Settings
Most installs the default setting will be ok - In the 2000w version I made i turned down the power level to 60%
Fan Countdown - That is how long the fan stays on (if one is attached) after the reflow finishes.
Graph Look Ahead - How far ahead on the curve the algorithm is looking for how it should adjust its rate change. This is important to compensate for ovens that can’t change their temperature very fast… e.g. most cheap toasters. RM doesn’t use PID. It uses its own algorithm that I feel works better for toaster ovens not designed to be able to control temp as fast as a solder profile requires.
Power - Just a way to artificially increase whatever the calculated power rating driving the SSR is. It cant make a toaster ramp faster than it’s able, but it can make it go faster than the algorithm thinks it should.
Temp Offset - Adjust the thermocouple temperature reading offset. Used to match the TC reading to a measurement device reading.
Start Ramp 100% - Usually a profile starts off low with a quick pace to the first temp marker, but many toasters cant initially ramp that fast, so Start Ramp 100% tells the system to push the SSR to 100% for the initial ramp so it has its best chance of making it.
