it sounded like you mispoke but I've heard others say it this same way and either I'm confused or they are. so at the end you said tenths of an inch but that doesn't sound at all like what I was taught. I was taught 0.1 Tenths 0.01 Hundredths 0.001 thousandths and what I think you were talking about is 0.0001 ten thousandths. is that accurate or am I mistaken?

the k liner pictured isn't bronze, its probably moldstar 90 or beryllium copper

I think anyone looking to change them knows what they are, how about an intro into ICE?

em, you forgot to tell us the valve guide clearance is also based on the WEIGHT of the oil you are using- ding

Do you make them from a oem template? Honda doesn’t make my guide anymore but I have found one oem off the internet

Be honest about powder metallurgy

Very nice explanation. Really helps someone learning the process like myself. Can you elaborate a little on what someone may expect when purchasing Frankenstein heads from a Vendor like RPM? Would you expect bronze guides, or the powdered metal with bronze sleeve? It seems like the bronze sleeve would be for a high end application. In an LS7 head, are roller tip rockers an absolute must for longevity of the valve guide and valve? Thanks for your help, enjoying the tech series.

Thanks for watching and the questions! The valve guides in cylinder heads will vary on the cylinder head, but our ls7 heads will come with CHE guides regardless of where you buy them. Your other questions will be answered in future videos! Again, thanks for watching!

Seven tenths,eight tenths of an inch???? WTF,Mate. Step-up.

Why didn’t you mention copper / bronze alloy valve seats are fantastic. They pull the heat out of the valve better than any other. There is no better thermal conductor than copper.
@gavinsimcoe7268
@gavinsimcoe7268 Год назад
Because this was our valve guide video. We do have a valve seat video as well in which we discuss copper seats. :)
@YouCantSawSawdust

Because if he quoted you,he would have been wrong. Copper berrylium provides the highest valve face to seat heat conductivity of any valve seat material,not "copper/bronze"(?)as you incorrectly state.

1:53 How TF does that work!?! How does the tool cut the minor diameter first then expand as it withdrawals?

@Baard2000
@Baard2000 2 года назад
@@richardprice5978 I dont know how many in the US are in service. As I live in the Netherlands and being professional headporter I know about 4 in the Netherlands. There isnt even a Rottler F69 head porting machine in the Netherlands. I know of a few companies doing sone 5 axis porting but its mainly done outside business hours on those machines. The numbers 9f heads used are too small to have such machines. Also the enormous choice in reasonable priced heads from overseas head suppliers makes it almost impossible to earn money with it.

"We can run titanium valves seven-tenths,eight-tenths of an inch.." WTF are you saying??? Every dimension you gave for clearance was in some totally bizarre measurement in a language no one has ever heard of. Step Up!!!!!
@gavinsimcoe7268
@gavinsimcoe7268 3 месяца назад
In the cylinder head world, our clearances are never true tenths of an inch (.1, .2, etc). When we say tenths, we mean ten thousandths (.0015, .0003. Etc).
@YouCantSawSawdust
@YouCantSawSawdust Год назад
Your clearance figures are ridiculous. Just say,one point three thou on the inlet and one point five thou on the exhaust.
